Before I knew about the neutral antique, I did a wash with the bronze on black. Turned out beautiful! I've played around with the neutral antique on a few projects and have been really impressed.

I've been using metallics & shimmers with neutral antique for some time now. It's a really nice touch, a shimmer white on green is AMAZING

The gold on green and silver on black are my two favorites. 👍🏻

You said that the copper on brown "doesn't really work; doesn't really show off" but I disagree.
I think the subtlety of the contrast really looks great and you can see when you lay it back down that the contrast changes with the angle of reflection. I think that lustrous, monochromatic look would look really great for the right project like shoulder straps. I think it comes down to "subverting expectations" lol. For something that you would expect to look flat when looked at straight ahead, seeing the relief of the stamping at an angle would be a great surprise.

Chuck i have a suggestion for a leather element. This one is mainly for those new to leather crafting. When is the best time to use antiques, sealers, top coates etc. We always hear about the different items but not when the best time to use them is.

Hi there! Are you wanting something showing the correct order to use them on a project or what types of leathers to use these items on?

    • @JohnDavenport-y3g

@WeaverLeatherSupply I was thinking the correct order of use. I am not sure on when and what order to use them for the best outcome.

Great video, Chuck! Some of those combinations don't really work for me, but some of them really pop!

Instead of glitter try using mica powders that they use for resin. I've been using them for years and the results are awesome.

I've been trying to find info on using mica powders with leather. More specifically glow in the dark and color shift powders. Is it just eye balling to taste or do you follow a recipe?

I recently tried the pewter paint in neutral antique. I wasn't able to get to a consistency that seemed to do much. My mixed antique was very thin. Which lead it to not setting into my tooling. Any suggestions on how to fix this situation going forward

The gold ratio has to be more paint to antique . Then you’ll get the gold sheen.

Your narration is clear and easy to follow, but please consider slowing your entros they have a bit less of that relaxed confidence you show throughout the video. Your demonstrations provide a 'magic carpet' ride in mastery without even needing a mask or a pair of gloves. Thanks 👍.
