    That may be one of the most thorough explanations about dying I've seen yet. Thank you so much for going through all the work it took to put this out. Really enjoyed it.....clearly....I just sat here mesmerized through a 40 minute clip.

    Thank you for giving clear explanation in this video, it was extremely helpful! I just tried the stencil dye on a practice disc with just the black colored dye only (no other colors mixed in) and the dye took but it was extremely light. I let it sit for about 2 hours. What have you found to help get the colors to be darker or dye better on the disc? I was planning on trying waiting longer, adding more black colored dye to the mix, or heating it like you said. There is a color intensifier that comes with the dye, do you use these packets as well?

    • @ianandrew3973
      @ianandrew3973 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Which dye/brand did you use? I use idye poly (same from this video) and it works perfect. I've tried other dyes and they came out very light at best. I always let the discs sit for 6-8 hours as well. Hope this helps!

    • @grantloupe2059
      @grantloupe2059 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ianandrew3973 I use idye poly as well but didn’t let it sit 6-8 hours. I just tried my second attempt with more dye and will let it go 8 hours, hopefully it comes out darker this time (and I did it on a lighter colored disc this time)

    I assume there are other options but people who don't want buy paper plates all the time... I picked up some stainless steel electric stove covers. The small size is useless but the big one work well for dying and you can just wash it off.

    • @dougs8196
      @dougs8196 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want to do it by hand, you can buy Vinyl sheets, then you need a light box( or similar. I had a glass table I put a lamp under it), cut out the image with a xacto knife, use transfer tape (or masking tape to hold the image together), peel the sticky side and put on the disc.
      Here's a video someone else made... th-cam.com/video/LUB0Rrqx_2A/w-d-xo.html
      Your other option to find someone or pay someone with a vinyl plotter (sign shop usually have that stuff, i've seen people in disc golf forums offer service as well) that can digital transfer and cut out images.

    yeah man really good video. one critique though, it would help your dude if you put a list of supplies in the description. should do more though dude...I think you just hit the tip of the ice burg. what would you say the best vinyl for this is though?
    I want to do something with great detail...kind of don't want to give the idea away. yet it's just so cool. I'm gonna do hail oderus...prob on a dd2, boss or katana. I was thinking like a purple die on top of the clear pink blizzard. most yall dude's prob aint into gwar any ways lol.
    p.s. I get power throwers turn em over but if you got that perfect form flick like your dude does...blizzard really launches. yeah meant more for old people and kids...but 140 or lower this thing even floats and not just across the field. that's the secret though the lower weight. if your having problem with distance...but got form down. id give it a try.

    • @edgelordofthedepths4562
      @edgelordofthedepths4562 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      really though I've seen vibram about the same weight too. so just lower weights in general. yet cant get a katana or boss in vibram. cool discs though.

    • @edgelordofthedepths4562
      @edgelordofthedepths4562 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      also you know its good to have variety for them noobs reading thinking they should fill out the bag. I'm rocking star, champion, blizzard...got drivers, multi purpose, putters. even had a fairway...du know what happened maybe lost or givin away. I always play from best of 2 any way, so id do a light one and a heavy one. sometimes you need something to cut through the wind, sometimes you want to be carried by it. shhhiiiiiiiii I use a rock for trick shots and putting...distance drivers too, but aren't we all putting from the T. lol
