UT IIW Type I Block Caution and Comments

- This video explains some of the features of the IIW Type I reference block. The 4" and 9" reflectors that are used to calibrate are explained. There is also a caution about a mode converted signal that may cause an error when calibrating with some transducers and wedges.
Equipment: Olympus EPOCH 1000i UT tester, IIW Type I Reference Block, GE 5MHZ, 0.25" diameter transducer with a 45 degree screw on wedge.

The 8" signal is not a mode conversion signal, it's a double reflection of the first 4" signal and it can be used for calibration if you set it at 8".

By any chance can we reduce the db and get rid of that cross talk?
How do we can avoid that mode conversation signal before backwall during calibration
The use of the AWS "snail wedge" will help prevent this.
