This video demonstrates performing a conventional Ultrasonic angle beam calibration using a DSC Block aka Distance Sensitivity Calibration Block. Equipment: Olympus EPOCH 1000i UT tester, 2.25Mhz 0.5" diameter transducer, 45 degree screw on wedge, DSC block.

Can some explain why is the 1/32" wide notch is used as a reference level and not the 1/8" diameter hole? Thank you.
