    It is wonderful to hear a male voice in crochet. I have been crocheting over 36 years after being taught by my grandfather and have never in all the circles that I have been involved with have I encountered a man who crochets.

      As a younger guy who just kinda picked up knitting and crochet, this is exceptionally true. There aren't many men doing this.

      My step-father started crocheting a few years ago and loves it. He's made many hats, scarves, blankets, purses, you name it. It is great to see/hear more men doing it.

    Thank you so much! I had just picked up crochet and I went back to the store that is supposed to help people and give classes. I went back because I didn't know how to add the next skein of yarn. I was so mad because the woman was like, "Just loop it..." like I was stupid. This told me how to do it right away! Thank you!

      @onmywayeast 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Totally with you here!! I have been trying to figure out how to add a new skein in without tying it on, for a few years now. I tried other videos and books(the books were especially hard- I’m a visual learner) but this video helped a ton!! It is simple and easy to understand. I am happy to say I have just successfully added a new skein on for the first time!!

    I’ve watched literally 1,000 videos trying to help with my crocheting. You’re the only one so far that I can actually follow, understand and see how to do it, without having to rewind 10-20 seconds 15 times lol. Thank you sm!

    You explained how add a new ball of yarn so well. And I love how you show the two methods. My favorite is the weaving the yarn tails.

  • @raspieaspie818
    @raspieaspie818 7 ปีที่แล้ว +54

    This was very helpful, I'm a beginner and working on my first blanket right now. Adding new yarn is way easier than it sounds, much easier than tying the tails together, which is what I had been doing when I had to cut my yarn because it was too snarled to keep working with! I would find a video on how to keep your yarn from tangling very helpful!

    • @KunoichiL3e
      @KunoichiL3e ปีที่แล้ว

      Is joiningike this secure? I'm also a beginner and tie my tails together but I'd like a seamless join with no knots, I'm just scared my project will unravel with this method

    It came time to add new yarn in the middle of a row of a scarf I'm making, and this is exactly what I was looking for. I learned how to crochet 50 yrs. ago from my grandmother. I don't do it frequently so I need reminders. I especially like that you showed how to integrate the tails into the stitching, which is how she taught me. Why wait and sew them in later when you can do it right in with your crochet stitches and be done with it! Good video!

    I think I have finally found the method I like to begin a new ball of yarn when I'm running out when using some leftover yarn. I like listening to guys instructions, there is something about your voice that just makes it easy to listen and learn. Thank you!!

    • @yarnistco
      @yarnistco  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You'll probably have some ends sticking out. Depending on how long those ends are, you can weave them in with a darning needle. If they're short, then just pull on them a little, trim them off (while pulling) and they should slip into the fabric. 🪄💨 Gone!
