Excellent! This stunning production is a million times better than standard performances. Well done! The orchestra is wonderful - I actually got my violin out and played the Violin 1 part from the score along with this video - gorgeous! The speaking and singing voices are full and resonant - Eliza and Higgins are so talented! These young people and the Director are to be congratulated.
October 29, 2022. This is the first time I have seen a musical theater version of My Fair Lady. I enjoyed this so much more than the movie version. Thank you
Congratulations- an incredible production of My Fair Lady. The orchestra was great and also the main characters. Very talented & special young people. Looking forward to many other musicals.
What a wonderful Eliza! A focused and utterly “true” performance. Speaking as someone involved with the theatre myself, I can definitely say she has what it takes to be a world class actress.
I so agree, She has the unique talent that could lead to a "big" career. She appears natural and is completely engaged while others are speaking. I immediately felt at ease while watching her and her ascot scene was particularly hilarious.
Excellent performance. George Bernard Shaw (author of Pygmalion) was opposed to Eliza returning to Henry Higgins. His reasoning was simple. Everything Higgins taught Eliza towards being independent would be lost. This new ending is realistic and superb!
There's nothing "new" about this ending to either Pygmalion or My Fair Lady except perhaps the shared laughter of Eliza and Higgins which was evidently a directorial choice.
As I just saw a special presentation of the film of “My Fair Lady”, I thought I’d see if there might be any school productions to view and discovered this one. I’m only half way in, but I’m impressed. It’s a challenging show for professionals to do and these young actors are amazing. I’m glad too that there is a complete cast listing as I suspect many of its members will go on to have careers. It’s great to see fresh talent!
The entire cast and orchestra gave outstanding performances. Ms. Scarlet Halton was amazing in both her singing and acting. I hope she continues in theater and is majoring in it in college. I can see her going on to Broadway in the near future.
Watching from across the pond, and so incredibly impressed by the talents of these young women and men! I also love and personally prefer some of their new interpretations of particular scenes and dialogue, interpretations that differ from what we see in the Hepburn/Harrison film version.
I was trying to find out if the character of Higgins actually sang in the Broadway version because Rex Harrison talked through all his songs in the movie. Apparently he couldn’t sing. Glad I found this. I guess the role was supposed to be sung.
awwww, this was awesome!!! Brought back such fond memories, as I was a cast of My Fair Lady in my own high school production many years ago!! The performers were fantastic in this show, and I hope they continue to entertain us all. Thank you for sharing
when they were doing My Fair Lady in Greenville, SC, I tried out for Higgins, and two people who had done it in London, Stephen Douglass and Christine Fitch also reid out. I figured they would be cast, not me. He and I BOTH sang Ive Grown Accustomed to Her Face... Neither one of us was cast, and Neither was Christine! The director cast a guy fro Greenville, and Imported a Bway actress to play Eliza. I could have given him a Higgins that would have CURLED HIS TOES !!!!
Excellent cast. They all maintained their accents throughout. Although I know this musical far too well, the young man playing Freddy was so adorable that I wanted the ending to change and for Eliza to go off with him.
We did a musical every summer in Rye, NY. When we did Pajama Game, the director who directed me the first time I played John Adamas in 1776 asked me if I woukd play Syd. I was 31, and Sandy Podesta, who was 15 at the time, I told the director I woild do it if she thought it would look all right. She said yes, and I was Syd. The orchestra was all high school kids, and the full Bway score was WONDERFUL, My uncle who saw the Bway revival, sid ours was actually BETTER !!! Oh, to be a kid again... (I'm now 83) but the memory lingers on....and on....and ON !!!!!
For a high school performance, this isn’t bad at all. Now that they’ve cut the arts out of a lot of schools, this gives me some hope for the future. I loved Eliza and Alfred the best. The orchestra was great, though they seem to get tired in the middle. Overall, a great performance. Eliza needs to go on Broadway. Please, someone tell me who that is. She does the cockney accent very well, as well as Alfred.
"For a high school performance, this isn’t bad at all." ??? Are you serious? For a highschool performance this was amazing. Was that a weak attempt to compliment the performance? You failed. That´s like telling an old lady she looks good for her age.
@@missyhilary8905 “You are the best in the room.” Thank you for acknowledging that! I am indeed. From your comment I´m guessing you´re either a “has been” who can´t accept her “stardom” - wich wasn´t great in the first place - is over, or a highschool student who wasn´t good enough and didn´t get the part. Your pseudo professional comments do not make you sound good. If you´re interested as to why I´m the best in the room; I´ve taught students for the past 30 years so I, kind of, know what it takes. I also have staged some fairly succesful productions but I can admit without envy, never at this level. As for your comment on the orchestra; I´ve heard professional orchestras wich didn´t play this good.

WOW, MFL done by kids and teenagers! Hilariously funny, wonderful! Congratulations to all cast! Eliza/Scarlet was amazing!

I like the ending of the two of them facing each other - it leaves more room for interpretation on what exactly their relationship is.
True. Forget Audrey and Rex and what they did. Make this interpretation your own. The main thing for me is that it doesn’t end in a kiss.
Great orchestra!

The best production of this I've seen, including professional productions. All the cast but especially the two leads are outstanding.
