Each time you guys are on this platform am reminded of your two weeks evenings when you used to talk and lauugh untill your jaws are paining. Keep it up.
Xhosa woman from SA, I think we copied this proposal thing from watching the romantic movies on TV, it's fairly new to us Africans, I know I didn't even want it and wanted no engagement ring when I was about to be married😂😂. Glad to have you back here again❤
Thank you Ann for this topic been laughing throughout..some cases i would relate 😂. But in my opinion i think marriage proposals these days have lost meaning, its now about who among the friend circle will pull off an over the top proposal sadly…. I still think private proposals are so intimate and meaningful ❤. Also we ladies we should help speak to our parents what our husbands to be can afford …instead of pleasing the whole village and your man is running broke you better talk to your parents to reduce some unnessary gifts for sure .
I'm inspired, before thought proposals were in the movies 😂 and it happened to me when was escorting my special friend back to the airport and this handsome guy gave a such a mega surprise with a proposal. I was like Jesus what is this i'm seeing. He told me to branch a bit at Middle East restaurant for a quick cup of coffee and it was really so much for me.
Next week we're getting married both cultural and church wedding in the same week. All glory i give back to Jesus Christ. I keep singing this song " See what the Lord has done"
Ann that's exactly what my friends and a few family members asked why i didn't call them for my proposal and it sounded funny to me because i thought it is something private, you don't even know it was going to happen, it's a surprise because i didn't know anything about what my special friend was really planning for me and i do glorify the name of the Lord God that this month we're getting married. I love you both blessed, destined couple from God.
Am looking forward to the wedding prep video with your hubby in a faraway land. Venues, bugets, music selection, food cultures, dress cultures. Do Australians have a traditional cloth? Did you consider wearing that on your introduction ceremony? How were you able to blend and represent the two cultures without one culture dominating the other? Those are my questions.
No Ann I must highlight this maan🤣🤣🤣I laugh every time you do it, this girlie thing we do when we talk as women then one raises their hand to kind of 'low five' to the other, you do it so much with your husband and he's so used to it he just gives his hand whenever you raise yours😂😂😂😂😂, it's so funny man when I watch it. Love you guys❤
When a proposal has an audiemce, it becomes a performed proposal. The lady looses out on the surprise factor. I dont even how that makes the man feel.....
Actually Bakiga Banyankore we have Okushaba or Gusaba in Kinyarwanda,Okugamba obugyenyi,Okujuga,Introduction,Give away all these are functions ...meanwhile nowadays people join intro and giveaway.
So I like to tease my husband with the Caucasian's (White man's) way of asking for a woman's hand in marriage. I admire the men humbly kneeling and respectfully proposing marriage. My husband being a typical African man thinks they are not being real.😊
Hahaha 😆 😂 Actually not all of them kneel some don't. But majority do. Hahaha and yes some just do it for the sake of pleasing the lady. Thanks for watching.
Africans are just dramatic about everything. It has complicated the process of marriage and escalated the wedding experiences. I am South African. In the olden days, the 1st meeting between the families used to be a private matter between the elders of both families. Nowadays, it becomes a fully fledged ceremony where invites are sent out. 😮
I know, I like the privateness of it. How can we redeem that. I know there's a lot of conformity and peer pressure forcing people to dress in a certain way and exaggerate things....

O Ann. I am so finished with laughter. You guys are so genuine 😂😂. I never ever knew there were so many functions held in Africa for marriage😂😂😂😂😂
Hahaha thanks for watching and kind comment ❤😅yes in Africa functions for marriage are so many.
In many african communities the marriage ceremony is continuous with different ceremonies from time to time to thicken the bond between two families.
