- Ever wondered how the Singapore Police Force (SPF) fight crime and terrorism to ensure that Singapore remains a safe and secure home?
‘Faces of SPF’ is a web series that will feature SPF officers from the different vocations working towards the SPF’s shared vision.
Here’s the first in the series - Emergency Response Team (ERT) Team Leader, Assistant Superintendent (ASP) Fionie Chan talks about the challenges in having to be always ready for duties. The Emergency Response Teams (ERTs) were formed in June 2016 to serve as the first wave of response to terrorist attacks, and ASP Fionie is one of the specially selected and trained officers who have been equipped and armed to deal with such attacks.

Of course, they are using close range usually, Sometimes long range, thats why they train, Dont think you can “SELECT: Red Dot”
My dream is to join STAR or SID or other units if not I want to join the ARMY.
Not trying to rub salt on your wound, but let me give you a reality check.
Being part of secial forces isn't a easy thing. I recommend you finish your BMT in tekong first then decide if you want to be part of special forces. If you think you can still qualify go for it. All the best for you.

Hmm, the ERT officers are clad in bullet-resistant vests, not bullet-proof vests...
ok lah. depends on what class of armor plate they put inside and also what weapon the "terrorist" use. If u use terrorist use 50.cal AP rounds then no bullet-proof vest can save u liao.

@@soochinghia157 OP forgot his research. For a riot, having no KIAs and the fact that no more than 3 people were injured is a pretty good indicator of an effective police force.
