As a musician who looks for the objective life-like tonality of instruments in recordings. Etymotic is an end game, the 1% of the 1% of "audiophile" ear audio devices. For me, it's the Etymotic ER2XR after countless hours of research. The only thing that people might not like that I don't mind, is that they are DEEP INSERTION in ear monitors.

I really wanted to love these headphones but after owning them for a week I just like them. Currently using my 660's but buying fiio k9 pro. Hope to get a better experience with my xs. Maybe I got a lemon
@@undefeatedmc i am enjoying them a lot more after buying the hifiman EF400 amp/dac. they pair very well. using balance cables too. i still enjoy my 660s but the xs sound better but they dont sound good with any amp.

I think, AMAZON is crazy about me... First Beyer DT 990... Next Sennheiser HD 660S... Than Beyer DT 1990... DT 990 was the first Retoure. But than, i had a great Problem... 1990 or 660? Both are wonderful, the Music you hearing make the Difference. But i can`t decide. So i wondring aloud (Nice Song from Jethro Tull), that my Brain between my Ears can`t hear great Difference. And now, that is the Beginning of a new Feeling in Heart, Soul and Ears. Hifiman Sundara. And i hope, tomorrow is Edition XS on my Ear. Thanks a lot.

I bought them early and I have about 300 hours on them. I love them a lot and they can pretty much be eq'ed however you want them.
I ordered these specifically to take advantage of the massive soundstage to create some seriously intricate sound. I'm so excited.

I substituted the stock cable with the Tripowin grand via cable, very good quality and comfort.

Running the XS with fiio K9 and the combination is outstanding.
660s have no bass and alot of dip in upper mids. Very difficult to enjoy them. How did you like the XS?

The majority of good headphones require you to have an amplifier with them. It's a good investment since you're getting the maximum audio quality.
Is there a dac amp dongle on the market today, that'ssufficient to drive my edition xs headphones?
I would think the dragonfly cobalt would do fine.
