- In this video, we hike one of the most popular volcanoes in El Salvador. The Santa Ana Volcano has an absolutely gorgeous view, with a beautiful blue lagoon like lake in it's crater. It is still an active volcano so you do need to be careful depending on the day that you visit. We absolutely loved this and went with a nice small group, and has an amazing guide :) We booked our tour through Viator and will leave our link below if you want to do it yourself!

Those chips are called "Platanitos" and they are made from "Platano" (plantain). Platanitos literally means "little platanos". The fruit is similar to bananas but the taste is different, still sweet but slightly more sour/acid and are firmer when cooked (plantains slices will keep their shape when fried, while bananas usually become a paste). Can't say I'm sure how they cook the chips, but they are likely fried like potato chips. They are a very popular snack around here.
