Lol I know how you feel. I'm gonna do 280 on Friday. I should be much stronger than I am now but last year when I started lifting I really didn't know what I was doing and got easily discouraged. I'm more knowledgeable now though and all fired up to reach my full potential. Let's get it.
stupiful two days ago I hit a goal of mine that nearly brought me to tears. a 300 pound deadlift. when I saw these guys I was reminded that I'm weak XD
Trynottoblink, dude I know your pain... I've been working out for nearly 2 years now, but it wasn't til the end of last summer that I actually got my shit together. Before that, I was all over the place, trying to get jacked with hypertrophy work, trying to do bodyweight stuff crossed with rock climbing, while learning proper squat at the same time, all while working and going to school. If I had just focused on deads, bench and squat like I should've, I would be so much farther right now. Last summer I hit 5 reps on a 305lb deadlift (touch and go). Just a couple of weeks ago, I crushed 315lbs for 8 reps with full stops between reps. Not a lot of progress but it's feeling good. Hope to take my deadlift max from 375lbs to 405lbs in the next semester or two.
Haha I feel you. I've been riddled with injuries left and right and as a result, my deadlift PR had been 315 since March of last year. I just hit 300 yesterday for the first time in about 5 months.
Allan! get your ass to juji's place! his dime, your time! the guy admires you,and I admire him. I'd really like to see how happy it'd make him to train with you. #GETJUJIMUFUUNTAMED
Congratulations to Jerry and Thomas...! Epic lifting, bodyweight low for the huge numbers thhe lifted.......!!! And they are pretty young too!! Incredible..!!!
That clip of John being told to gain weight and then deadlifting 600lbs get's me all emotional for some reason. That advice from Jordan and Austin was probably the best advice anyone could have given him. Great work John!!
ALAN, Sir Jujimufu has requested your presence at the Deadlift Ball, in the near future. You should dress semi Casual and no +1 sorry. The location is in the Juji Palace itself (garage). Please rsvp to Sir Jujimufu himself as soon as possible please and thank you.
I'm thinking about attending my first meet late this year or early this year. Watching this was pretty helpful to help me know what to expect. Good job to all of you who competed.
That was an awesome ending man. Definitely gonna try and make it down to Sacramento from Seattle sometime and get to train in the badass environment you guys have created
Hey came here from Jujimufu's chanel, he used your deadlift platform info to build his own and now he's asked us all to come and bug you to meet up with him and train. He said his dime your time, so yeah would be pretty cool if you guys could hook up.
When I saw John I thought...isn't he the young guy that the docs told to go up in weight not down? Then you threw in the exact vid clip. This kid is a juggernaut...good for him, glad to see his success. He is going to do big things.
Man, those of you that got into weights early are lucky af. I had everything going against me. Wrestling coach wouldn't let us use the gym, even though I wanted to. He assured us that pushups and hindu squats were better. Step dad had horrible knees and partially blamed it on squatting. The two figures that had the biggest influence on me at the time got "weights=bad" into my head and it wasn't until nearly 2 years ago at the age of 28 that I discovered SS and that I love strength training. I wonder how much potential was wasted and where I'd be at now if I could do things over at 15. So whenever people sit there and shake their heads at young guys not working toward their potential I can't help but feel envious that they're lucky enough to have people giving them such good advice that early on.
Hey Alan, Long time fan, first time question asker. I'm a young coach who believes being able to move some tin in the gym is important for athlete buy in. Because of this I've begun focussing exclusively on maximising my squat, bench, deadlift, clean and jerk and snatch. However, after some good early noob gains I'm now plateauing in my oly lifts (powerlifts still going strong using 531). So my question for you is, given your experience across the various strength sports, how would you go about training both powerlifting and oly lifting simultaneously. (I'm assuming you'll say focus on one at a time so I want to put you on the spot and figure out how to program them together). I hope you've got the time to get back to me and I want to thank you for all the awesome content and advice you'put out. Both informative and entertaining, you're a huge inspiration. Keep it up! Cheers, Nathan - Sydney, Australia (or as we call it, 'straya')
Nice video. Really enjoyed watching people lift heavy stuff. But since I have no idea how such a meet works I wouldn't mind if you could explain a bit more about the procedure. Like what you mean by going 9 for 9 or what the judges job is with the lights and everything.
How tall is Jon? I found the advice that he was given to be very insightful as I'm considering trying to put on more weight as well. I'm currently 220 at almost 6'2" at 19 years old.
im 5,10 bulked up from 80kg 1.5 years ago to 122kg bodyweight now maxs were squat 140kg now 230kg bench 120kg to 180kg deadlift 150kg to 270kg putting on weight makes you get way stronger no matter how tall you are aslong as your training right.
I'm ~6'2" and compete in 205... I'm one of the tallest/skinniest dudes there. Checked your channel, don't see lifting video's, so don't know your body composition. Hard to tell if 225 is a good weight class for you. How long have you been lifting and what are your competition maxes?
Did you go to Bella Vista High School? I went there my freshman year and grew up in Orangevale. I'm also leaving for the Marines in about three months AND I've been getting into weightlifting. What a coincidence...
Hi Alan, how come you dont squat with safetybar(rig) as you do when benching? Then you wouldnt have a problem with spotters, and you could just let it go
Ive been bulking since I wight lift. About 2 yrs. now im not that muscular and fat. But my concern is my face. It became fat. Now I cut for about 500 defecit on may daily cal. Im 5'11 with 140 lbs. shoul I cut orcontinue on bulking. My concern is my face being fat but my body is not that big
Alan not uploading anything new is making me really sad because I really like his videos. I guess he is busy with some badass workout session that takes over a mouth to complete like one trillion squats in a row.
Was this the same meet where spotters had some serious problems was it last year? Even in this video there was one tiny spotter on left and 200+ kg (squat) on bar..
Alan Thrall, come to my gym
Jujimufu Yes!! This would be awesome!
why was this never replied to
yes plz!
Damn, the absolute pride in your voice when you're talking about Jon. That shit's beautiful, man.
Caribou Mountain shit teared me up
Jordan's speach to Jon is one of the most motivating speach that i ever heard. Definatly helping with this 600 pounds deadlift:)
Where's the speech?
Dave at the end of the video.
3:20 did steam just come out of his ears?
sarsattacks I was wondering the same thing. Sure looked like it.
Yo I saw that too.
Lel
chulk, look closely back spotters blew it from his back.
sarsattacks Chalk
2:40 when you just remembered you have a 20 page essay due the next day mid squat. haha
CalvinHuynhFitness that gave me laugh hahahahahaa
CalvinHuynhFitness what happened why did he swear?
he stepped forward which caused a bad lift
John is strong as hell for his age, damn.
Thomas is strong af. Gonna be bigger beast as time goes on.
Bunch of strong dudes and girls. Untamed is on my bucket list of places to train
God damn that was inspiring
I'm gonna go wreck some poverty 225 deadlifts today
stupiful We're all gonna make it bro!
Lol I know how you feel. I'm gonna do 280 on Friday. I should be much stronger than I am now but last year when I started lifting I really didn't know what I was doing and got easily discouraged. I'm more knowledgeable now though and all fired up to reach my full potential. Let's get it.

ALAN, Sir Jujimufu has requested your presence at the Deadlift Ball, in the near future. You should dress semi Casual and no +1 sorry. The location is in the Juji Palace itself (garage). Please rsvp to Sir Jujimufu himself as soon as possible please and thank you.

the thing about this channel is just the "we lift cause we like it". its just nice to watch. not here to make money. just here to share a passion.
Jon is only 19!? Talk about untamed strength. Great vid Alan. I enjoyed it.
Clearly no drugs at this competition. Good to accept limits.
Just bought your program, liking it already. Thanks for making videos, really helped me take a look at a few things.
Thomas has a hell of a future, can't wait to see how he progresses.

WTF happened to Alan?
When I saw John I thought...isn't he the young guy that the docs told to go up in weight not down? Then you threw in the exact vid clip. This kid is a juggernaut...good for him, glad to see his success. He is going to do big things.
Sound guidance on weight classes. Eat big, lift heavy, rinse and repeat.
We get Candito back but we lose Alan... Lord Gains, why must you tease us?
Man, those of you that got into weights early are lucky af. I had everything going against me. Wrestling coach wouldn't let us use the gym, even though I wanted to. 3+ weeks since his last upload :C hope nothing happened to him during training or something
Those untamed strength singlets are sick

Allan! Do a colab with Jujimufu! You have a long beard, he has long hair - it's like it was meant to be!
How tall is Jon? I found the advice that he was given to be very insightful as I'm considering trying to put on more weight as well. I'm currently 220 at almost 6'2" at 19 years old.
I appreciate the confidence lol
Well I'm guessing 6'3? He looks pretty tall so maybe hes an inch or two taller.
Most lifters in 230 class will be below 6'2. 6'0 in 205 is pushing it too. It just depends on how much you really want to lift I guess.
im 5,10 bulked up from 80kg 1.5 years ago to 122kg bodyweight now maxs were squat 140kg now 230kg bench 120kg to 180kg deadlift 150kg to 270kg putting on weight makes you get way stronger no matter how tall you are aslong as your training right.

Great lifts
great video
That was inspiring.
Saw you in the starting strength video that was sick! do you still do online coaching?
go lift with jujimufu you strong as hell SOB
please go to jujimofo gym. he invited you..
Did you go to Bella Vista High School? I went there my freshman year and grew up in Orangevale. I'm also leaving for the Marines in about three months AND I've been getting into weightlifting. What a coincidence...
8 people believe in moving the barbell prior to a deadlift.
I knew it! i could tell the guy who took it early before buddy’s third rep that spotter doesn’t belong there
Hi Alan, how come you dont squat with safetybar(rig) as you do when benching?
Then you wouldnt have a problem with spotters, and you could just let it go
Hey Alan, thoughts on Alphadestiny?
Allen, any advice on getting your gains back after being sick and losing weight? I run the 5/3/1 program
Cough, collab with Jujimufu, cough!
JUJIMUFU HAS CORDIALLY INVITED YOU TO HIS HUMBLE ABODE
>WAKE ME UP INSIDE
>CAN'T WAKE UP
Ive been bulking since I wight lift.

Thomas strong as shit.
goto jujimufu's gym please
The one that pulled 600 some months after pulling 500 is like Therese Johaug.
Alan hasn't posted for a while. Hope he's back soon.
My man! Hit up jujimufu he wants you in his gym!
Yeah buddy come to the gym
goddamnit this sport is honest!
Was this the same meet where spotters had some serious problems was it last year? Even in this video there was one tiny spotter on left and 200+ kg (squat) on bar..
René Seger Not the same meet but same problem. They really should have strength standards for the spotters.
