    I think the coolest thing is the car roof solar panel... what a great idea utilizing a space which is not used for anything anyway, at 4:49

      @bodendorfer  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Bill. It’s pretty nice to know my car is charging when it’s parked outside most days. Plus the panel is easily removable and can be used in other means.

      Agree, but it's a bit on the expensive side... if it was below 100usd then I'd get one.

    I think you meant 94.7 Wh, but either way it's the perfect amount of power to bring around for a day or two. I think I'm sold on this, I'll just have to save up enough for it.

    Branden, I like the solar panel on your car roof. I just recently bought the Goal Zero Maintainer (10W) panel to trickle charge my battery but, the idea of placing a larger panel on the roof is very cool. Do you remove it when going through car wash etc? If you don't mind me asking what type of brackets etc are you using?

    • @MarcoRomero_net
      @MarcoRomero_net 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also have the same question about the type of brackets he is using for his solar panel.

    If I have a laptop that uses 120W of power, I know the 100AC has a 150W surge on the AC port. Does this mean I can still safely use my Sherpa to charge my laptop, even if it isn't going to last a long time?

    Do you perhaps know if there is an adapter out there to connect a 12 V car plug via the new USB-C port? I mean like the old plug that could be connected to the old Sherpa 100...

    I wonder how efficiently this will charge an older 2009 Macbook Pro or even a 2018 lightening/1st Gen iPad pro.. Or for that matter, how this product matches up against other brands like Anker in performance/quality and price for comparable models

    Problem is that its inverter is modified sine wave not pure so it could damage sensitive electronics like tablets and laptops.

    • @zaptor1514
      @zaptor1514 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mario Torres I doubt it would damage a tablet etc because their power bricks are essentially transformers that work by induction. There is no direct connect to the tablet it’s induction on the transformer brick.

    Do I need two things to charge the Sherpa. One to charge from a wall outlet and one to charge from my car ? I just bought one and do not know how to use it.

    • @bodendorfer
      @bodendorfer  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am hoping I can answer your questions. You can charge the Sherpa via the 8mm port or the USB-C ports. Goal Zero makes a wall charger that will fit the 8mm port as well as solar panels that will charge via this port. You can charge via the USB-C Port, however depending on the source of the charge will greatly depend how long it will take to charge. I have had the best luck using the USB-C port with a 60 watt wall charger.
