I came across hate? watching a TikTok of Lollapalooza. Never heard of band-maid. I loved it so much they became my favorite band ever; and I'm 66.

They were also the first Japanese band at Lollapalooza in 13 years since X-Japan. This was livestreamed on HULU and they were in charge of the horrible filming. 🙂Thanks for the reaction!

Yeah, it was hot as hell. It's the first weekend of August. On the Chicago late front, I think the humidity was like a 100 %i saw. I saw them the night before they literally did. This show thirteen hours after I saw them and they murdered it

I think the reason we love Hate so much is because the Maids have so much fun playing it. They get to go wild. Especially Saiki, since she wrote the lyrics. And Dice is just quintessential, hard rock Band-Maid at its finest. Thx, Nic!

It was hot and this performance started around 12 hours after they got off stage from the full set they played the night before ( finishing around 1 a.m.). It did take it out of them, Saiki looked exhausted in the backstage photo that I think Miku posted on Instagram afterwards.

Yep, Downtown Chicago in Grant Park - next to the lake. A translation of an interview with Band-Maid on "Natalie" on September 22, 2022:
Saiki: *_HATE?_*_ felt aggressive like “THE Band-Maid song” already from the demo stage, and I just had something that pissed me off right then (laughs), so I expressed my irritation in the lyrics. Also, I simply wanted to include the phrase “I hate you”._
Kanami: _It’s a phrase that makes you want to sing (laughs)._
Kobato: _It’s hard to find any other song where you can shout “I hate you” this many times, po._

the ladies were pleasantly surprised and happy to be "invited" to the festival (their management did not apply) because no asian band has played this festival for 13 or 14 years

God that was a great 14 hours. The Lolla aftershow the night before this, and then this. I could relive those hours over and over in a loop until death.
