New strings and arrows and shot the hell out of it for 2 months, 20yds OK, 30 yards, So SO, 40 FAGGEDABOUTIT!!!! Researched the hell out of the newfangled bows, relied heavily on your videos and went to local archery shop to test drive a few bows. Shot the Pro 33 first, Matthews, PSE and Bowtech. I am 64 years old and found at least for me and my old inexperienced ass it was by far the most comfortable and easy to pull. Have had it for a couple of months and spent numerous hours on TH-cam instructional videos and several hundreds of arrows later and at 40 yard shooting 3''-4" patterns this week and I am thrilled. I'm not sure Missionary position with a Hoyt makes Hoyt too happy. Especially when Mathews (arch nemesis) owns Mission Archery. Lol. Love the content and the thumbnail made me laugh.

I would imagine that 12fps difference is mostly just related to the tuning and the whisker biscuit robbing a few fps. If you are testing those out of the box, I have to believe there is some room for improvement.
Maybe not worth upgrading if you already have a flagship that you love. I just bought a new Mathews V3X 33, but its because I didn't have a bow already close to that caliber. A friend of mine has the old Mathews no cam bow and I absolutely love that bow. First time I shot it, it was super smooth and I shot dead bullseye. I have not done that with other bows and I've shot all the flagships. I almost decided to find a used no cam and just upgrade it to new.
I shot both of those. I went with the V3X 33...picking it up today. It was close though. Like I said in another post though, I almost bought a used no cam Mathews because a buddy has one and that bow fits me perfectly and I would just put all new parts on it, where needed.
“…there’s a little bit of whip” but what about the nae nae? Thanks for the info on the bow - there’s a pretty high likelihood this is what I’ll be shooting for the next couple/few seasons.
Could you give us the weight of the short stop stabilizer and the whisker biscuit, so we can subtract those from the bow weight? Most archers will shoot any bow with at least a front stabilizer, so as a way to compare one bow to another...
Love the reviews! Have you ever done a review on Bowtech RevoltX? I’m seriously looking into one, but I’m also waiting to see what Bowtech’s new bows have to offer.
I have seen that video as well, I was hoping for a video more in the review format like the ones MFJJ has done on other models (how true to manufacturer specs, how it feels to shoot, speeds in comfort and performance etc.). I’m guessing if he personally shoots a RevoltX it’s got be an awesome bow lol!
I also like the video MFJJ has on the Frankenstein bow he put together with the RevoltX with the Solution SS cams I’m hoping Bowtechs new offerings have something like that! Really cool idea from MFJJ!
Would the whisker biscuit rest cause the bow speeds to be less ? I notice you shoot that same rest on every bow you show case. Just asking not judging. Would a drop away arrow rest show faster speeds than pushing the arrow through those whiskers?
wow, i was thinking my bowtech revolt on comfort hitting 320 fps ibo was slow, but all the bows reviewed here this year are right around there thanks for removing any buyer's remorse
So last year even tho I shot a v3, I thought the ventum was the smoothed drawing bow I ever felt. Just felt 10 lbs lighter then it was. So you believe that one has a even smoother draw? 🤯
Weird how everybody are different with draw cycle. Coming off an Helix Turbo and tried both V3 and Ventum, and the V3 had a way smoother draw compared to the Ventum. Maybe it’s specific to some draw length 🤯
I totally agree with you. I shoot a carbon spyder and I couldn’t believe the difference in the Ventum 33 and my spyder. I actually didn’t believe the ventum was set at 70lbs until the shop tech showed me.
Itd funny cos I have the torrex XT ld version and is super bow for the price and performance I only using as target bow with 350g fmj 5mm shaft i reach 332 fps at 70.8lbs deadly accurate and at 25 yards can hit 3quarter of an inch dot . Saw your Matthews VX3 review and it was below the advertised speed over 10fps until you changed it to 80% let off any reason why you did not do the same with the Ventum Pro which should have yielded the same gains in FPS. tried both before I purchased the Ventum and "for me" the game changer was the superior grip, way smoother draw cycle and let down.
Do you think the whisker buscuit slows the fps at all? I think if it does it still wont make a huge difference maybe 2-3fps? Still kinda bad for their reputatuon if they coming in that much lower than what they're advertising.
I agree whole heartedly, the 33" bows are awesome! I have a Ventum 33 from last year and now a V3X 33. Both awesome bows. The Ventum 33 is definitely a special bow.
