A lot of revocations music has disappointed me. A lot of it is boring, drawn out wankery on the guitar (albeit very skilled wankery). They have some killer songs that I do enjoy a lot. Their new album and deathless are the only ones I've really liked.
I went to school with Dave learning under Colin Sapp aswell and I used to watch Dave practice back when he was about 16 and he was amazing back then nevermind how much of a virtuoso he's become now.. Great guitarist and musician. Better dude!
Had the honor to chill with dave and got a guitar lesson before a show in montreal. There was supposed to be 3 of us, but i was the only one to show. We went over a lot within that hour and I learned lots. The dude is so down to earth and very knowledgeable.
How clean is that trem picking at 8:30 😲This was a pleasure to watch! Thanks Dave & Loudwire. The new album absolutely kills! I think they topped The Outer Ones if that's possible...
Going to be honest, haven't heard of these guys before but this video was great. Love this guy talking up all his influences. Love that it's all the best of what has gone before. I'm away to check out more of their stuff. Thanks Loudwire, these videos are what my teenage metalhead dreamed of 30 years ago.
As a guitarist who's recently rediscovering my passion for music and just recently getting into Revocation, Dave is one of those guys that will influence me on a grand scale. Not only is he just a great player, he seems like such a down to earth, chill guy who you just wanna sit down and have a drink with and talk music for hours. I've seen them live twice and they don't disappoint. You can definitely feel the passion radiating from him in interviews and in Revocation's albums. They'll go down in history as one of the all time greatest tech death bands and I'm excited to see where their future is headed
So happy i had the chance to saw them live once when they were on tour with Killswitch Engage, First heared about them when Dismantle the Dictator came out over a decade ago, would definitely like to see them again one day!
Dave has always been an incredible guitar player and musician, he keeps getting better too. Hard to believe i've been listening to them for over 10 years already
Don’t know how, but never even heard of these dudes until catchn their music video to Nihilistic Violence and man what a kick to the face badass of a jam. Lookn forward to hearing more from new album. 🤘🎸🤘
One of my favorite revocation riffs, probably one of my favorite riffs ever is the second section to Witch Trials (playing the 1 2 3 7 3 of A minor and then switching the root of the shape to F which turns it into a lydian shape) then they solo over that for the outro. Incredibly melodic and beautiful especially when juxtaposed with the aggressive machine gun riffs earlier in the track.
It’s interesting seeing him play Jazz on the Warrior because in another interview with Oli Herbert of ATR he also had a Warrior and said that no one would ever play Jazz with one. Lols
My favorite Revocation riff has to be the riff/solo on "Chaos of Forms" right after the melodic part. The whole outro to that song is great. My favorite off the new record is the riff that leads into the solo on "Godforsaken." The solo on that song is probably my favorite also.
Big metal fan and while I’ve heard of these dudes I never actually sat down to listen to them but any one who is inspired by Megadeth’s Lucretia has my instant respect gonna check these foos out 🤘🏾
@@SpiderBatProductions Really?! I wonder if I saw you. Yeah he came out of the RV once he got all changed after their set and he signed my Jackson Davidson WR7 🎸. The other band members were very cool to let me wait for him outside the venue.
Pretty much like me, started off with hard rock (which i still love and prefer above all (specially ACDC)) and moved to heavy, thrash and...I "met" death metal and we became best of buddies
Seen revocation play live with cattle decapitation. And was a fan ever since. His riffs gives me the same vibes as dave mustaine’s riffs. Solos are my favourites
My band kevorkians angels headlined that show he was talking about. We did a set by the old school boston hardcore band jerry's kids. That was a great show
Can we all agree that Dave is one of the all time dudes of metal? The guy never disappoints
Seems so nice and humble too, definitely loves what he does
I won’t agree to that but he is cool though

For sure
@@malcolmrff they have had some weaker albums. But deathless, the outer one's, and netherheaven are amazing
this dude is becoming one of my favorite guitars players of all time in this genre. glad that this album is getting big
Dave looks like the sort of dude you could meet for the first time and feel like you’ve known him your whole life. What a legend.
That is exactly how it is to meet him, you're spot on. Such a chill dude
I went to school with Dave learning under Colin Sapp aswell and I used to watch Dave practice back when he was about 16 and he was amazing back then nevermind how much of a virtuoso he's become now.. Great guitarist and musician. Better dude!
I think The Grip Tightens and No Funeral's chorus riffs were the ones that really caught my attention, massive favorites of mine for sure.
Had the honor to chill with dave and got a guitar lesson before a show in montreal. There was supposed to be 3 of us, but i was the only one to show. We went over a lot within that hour and I learned lots. The dude is so down to earth and very knowledgeable.
That’s amazing! I wish i could be hood enough to earn the right to have a lesson with him. What a great player!
Dave is so talented and passionate, I could listen to him for hours
Imagine a Revocation esque cover album with Aerosmith, AC/DC, Extreme, Megadeth, Death, Wes Montgomery.
He did a megadeath cover with a few other musicians during Covid lockdown. It was amazing.
You mean early Revocation?
I mean, they did cover Dyers Eve if I remember right, that's in that ballpark for sure
they did a Pull the Plug cover
Dude has some good taste playing a slightly deeper cut like Lucretia
Dude that was my warm up song on drums for years. Rust in peace is the best album ever written
he downpicked the Lucretia riff😯
That's my favorite Megadeth song ever
lucretia is like the third biggest hit on RIP?

great playing! And man I want this red 7 string guitar, please release one to the public!
One of the greatest guitar players of modern age! 🔥🤘
Not today you crook
Dave Davidson and Paul Waggoner share the top spot for modern metal guitarists for me. There's some unbelievable talent out there

Man, you're in for a treat! Revocation is seriously the cream-of-the-crop for tech death. So good \m/
Revocation is so amazing. Pretty much all of their stuff is A+ tech death metal.
Listen to Deathless before anything else. At least that's my opinion. Maybe follow that with the Outer Ones
Would be interested to hear your opinion, their new album is so brutal and fantastic in my opinion.

Imagine if Dave did a project with Brandon Ellis
this needs to happen ASAP,they are friends too.
I wanna see dean Lamb with dave
I think it would be interesting to see him write something with Mark Holcomb too.
So happy i had the chance to saw them live once when they were on tour with Killswitch Engage, First heared about them when Dismantle the Dictator came out over a decade ago, would definitely like to see them again one day!
i thought it was a weird lineup but glad i went 🤘
Dave has always been an incredible guitar player and musician, he keeps getting better too. Hard to believe i've been listening to them for over 10 years already
We need a video of Davidson showing us his guitar+shirt+sneakers outfits
True
The dude has drip, no question about it
Be definitely had the death metal drip going on in the diabolical majesty video
the ferrari red and lambo yellow warriors are sooooo sick! I hope they become production models.
very well deserved favorite riffs episode. i've always wanted to hear dave's favorite riffs.
Im working on playing along with Pull The Plug on guitar, so cool to find this video. Love Dave and the boys of Revocation, great band live. \m/
Suffering Hour is a phenomenal band, hyped to see Dave rep their merch.
I was thinking the same thing. The Cyclic Reckoning was one of my top albums last year.
This dude is a wizard of riffs
Dave is a guitarist that actually earns that guitar shape, know what I mean?
It's not just for show, he jams on that axe righteously 🤘
I mean play what you like but goddamn that makes perfect sense man!
Don’t know how, but never even heard of these dudes until catchn their music video to Nihilistic Violence and man what a kick to the face badass of a jam. Lookn forward to hearing more from new album. 🤘🎸🤘
Dudes right hand is insane

That’s possibly their all time best song. That final section is godlike
Oh, that song Vanitas is one of my favorites from that album. Love the way it builds!!
Glad Dave called out the Madness Opus intro, that's one of my favorites of all time. Absolute riff monster.
Loving the suffering hour shirt ♡
It’s interesting seeing him play Jazz on the Warrior because in another interview with Oli Herbert of ATR he also had a Warrior and said that no one would ever play Jazz with one. Lols
That last riff is insane
Living legend

Thanks for adding the songs titles
DEATH! awesome video, really dig that dude and revocation

Dude every album has something great to offer! ... What you think so far?! Favorites?
My band Steellake is opening up for Revocation on Sunday, I’m hella excited 🔥
Good luck!
Just met him again 2 days ago when Revocation played in Tampa. Really cool dude and awesome guitarist! 💯🎸
Damn dude I was at that show and waited to see if he'd come out afterwards. Where'd you meet him?
@@SpiderBatProductions Really?! I wonder if I saw you. Yeah he came out of the RV once he got all changed after their set and he signed my Jackson Davidson WR7 🎸. The other band members were very cool to let me wait for him outside the venue.
Holy crap the picking/finger technique at 7:27
The last riff is sooo gooood
Sad that he didnt keep the beard but I hope he grows it back... The album is so good! And he seems such a chill dude...
Yup.
So nice they named him twice!
Pretty much like me, started off with hard rock (which i still love and prefer above all (specially ACDC)) and moved to heavy, thrash and...I "met" death metal and we became best of buddies
Saw y’all in SA back in March. Y’all killed it.
This is gonna be awesome!!!
Seen revocation play live with cattle decapitation. And was a fan ever since. His riffs gives me the same vibes as dave mustaine’s riffs. Solos are my favourites
really hoping to meet dave on my birthday gonna see these guys in LA
Can't wait to buy the Netherheaven tab book the second it's announced
6:07 those droning atmospheric chords are the best so icy ❄
I saw them live in Tampa the day this came out. Fucking incredible band go see them live if you can!
Damn I missed it
Those warriors are gorgeous 💛❤️
1:47 God I need to see a revocation cover of Lucretia before I die
Great classics! This guitar is so cool!
My band kevorkians angels headlined that show he was talking about. We did a set by the old school boston hardcore band jerry's kids. That was a great show
Dave is my spirit animal
Im so glad that riff in vanitas is one of his favorites, because that riff gets me going everytime, one of the best on that album
His tremolo picking, good lord. And everything else, good lord (Lucretia is nuts)
Wes Montgomery? Lets goooooo!
Summon The Spawn is SO SICK!!!
What a cool guy
Walk this way is a dope first riff to learn
I think the best part of this video is the Suffering Hour t shirt
Legend
The world needs more jackson warriors
Holy shit, that last riff was suuper cool. I'll try to learn it with this video but looks difficult xd
Red rocket dude 😊 nice guitar

Dave is a monster!
Dude is nasty. Mad respect to the death guitarists with the sick picking hand.
I see Dave, i click!
Summon the Spawn riff is dirt fucking filthy!

He played jazz on a warrior
A true & absolute Legend!! I will be Revocation & DD fan for life ✌🏻
Hello!!
I'd love to just hang out with him
Existe algo que este joven no pueda hacer 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾!!!
Fuck yeah Dave!
jazz on a 7 string warrior. awesome!!
Theres a lot of attention to classically trained metal guitarists. Can we start shedding some light on jazz trained metal guitarists?
Rust in Peace. What else?
Lucretia is super technical.
🖤🔥🤘🏻
Anyone know the model of the guitar that Dave is using??
It’s a custom Jackson warrior
this red jackson is cool.
