I’m glad I caught this video, Evan’s showmanship did rub me wrong initially but his attitude, humor and his answers in this interview makes me like him a lot. Glad to know that his trash talk/bad boy persona comes from a good place, now I’m really looking forward to seeing him match up with everyone.
I like Evan. He is like a breath of fresh air to strongman. I know not everyone will like the way he is. But there is no malice in his trash talk. Just a kid having a great time.
Evan comes across as a great guy, hes a massive personality really interested to see how his Strongman career plays out. Met him at Giants Live in MCR last year and he was a gem, the stuffed toy such a lovely moment.

Loz have you thought about doing competition recaps? For example from National competitions that arent getting as much exposure? Or possibly doing old WSM recaps year by year with some extra background info? Just a thought, but videos like that would be more than interesting and you are the man to do it.
@@bubban5651 Was thinking about it while watching Islands Strongest Man. Ofc, there was a lot of talking about Thor winning his 10th title, but he wont be competing next year and there were good athletes in there. Old dogs like Stefan and Ari, son of Torfi Olafsson was there as well as other guys who are the future of Islandic Strongman scene (we should already know not to underestimate those guys). Events like Polish, Lithuanias and Swedens championships come to mind aswell.
Great to hear more from Evan. I was at the Giants Live show in Manchester and wasn’t sure I was keen on his demeanour, but having a big showman personality never did the likes of JP and Eddie any harm. You can see he’s very respectful to you Loz. Great stuff.

what a likeable guy, he may be intimidating like freakin t-rex, but more for the gentle t-rex. I firstly kinda iritated with his aggresive look, but thanks to Uncle Loz and many more of his interviews, we can see his true gentle and genuine personality, the kind-hearted beast. Those reasons why I more like to the strength athletes rather than any typical athletes.
WSM 2020 will be fire. I really hope there is a max deadlift to see Luke Richardson pull something big and test Brian Shaws max since his hamstring got torn.

I want the sport I have loved since the mid 90’s to continue with it’s recent rise of popularity. If talking smack and adding a bit of showmanship works in the sports favour then I have no issue with it.
I love the camaraderie of strongman, so I wouldn’t like real negative trash talk. Evan seems like a good guy, so I guess it’s OK if it’s good natured banter and the disagreements are faked for entertainment purposes. If it gets more fans interested, then it would be a good thing. Maybe Evan will bring across some wrestling fans.

I honestly didn’t like Evan watching the super series last year because he came off as arrogant but after watching this he seems like a genuinely nice guy.
Any sport needs characters. You only need to see the reaction to Ronnie O'Sullivans comments about the game to see that a factory line of robotic althetes doesn't endear people to watch. Kaz, Sigmarsson, Magnusson, Bjornsson and Hall have left their mark on the sport not just because of their physical strength but the strength of their on screen personalities. To use a term I hate I hope the sport continues to grow organically and not just because someone wants to pump a shitload of money into the sport to make a bob or too and oversaturated the market. We already had WSM, Arnolds, Giants Live, Ultimate Strongman and the SCL all fighting for airtime and ticket sales and now WUS has come on the scene and dumped a load of cash into the mix. I'm not saying it's a bad thing I'm just afraid that it's going to dilute the sport slightly as more athletes will shun the smaller events in favour of the big prize.
I understand your point but at least WUS are offering up some decent prize money for these hardworking athletes. If athletes choose the WUS shows over others, then it’s the responsibility of the other organisations to up their game. It’s been well talked about that WSM is the worst show for athletes treatment, and then you have Giants Live paying just a couple of hundred dollars to lower placing athletes when they sell thousands of tickets to their shows, hundreds of which are VIP tickets costing £250 each. That money isn’t going to the athletes though...
Of all the requests I'm surprised I haven't seen many for Marius pudzianowski for being such a legend would be an interesting one if he'd be interested to do it

Just got round to watching this. Really hope he becomes a huge strongman star. Strongman would be 100000% better for TV if all the athletes engaged in the kind of trash talk Evan is skilled in. Yeah! T-rex is coming for all you sissy so called strongmen. He's going to crush the rest of the competition so hard that they will be embarrassed to leave the house.......and so forth. Evan and Oberst shouting insults at each other for 10-15 mins would be pretty watchable.

Marius' English is not really good, I don't think he would like to do a full-time interview in this language.
