that's because he is a Rocky kind of character. He does not have the financial means of the established greats, like Thor or Shaw. He has a lot of improvised equipment, he doesn't have a nutrionist or any access to high tech stuff, hell he doesn't even count calories. He is a logger who trains in his shed somewhere in rural Poland, driven be hunger for greatness. It's the kind of athlete character you naturally tend to symphazise with
This kills me. Every interview Mateusz does he apologizes about his English. WE UNDERSTAND YOU FINE! YOU'RE DOING AWESOME! WE WANT TO SEE MORE INTERVIEWS WITH YOU! Lol
I wonder if Mateusz understands how many of us cheer for him. I am not of anything close to approaching Polish in culture, ethnicity or genetics. The dude is amazing. I honestly view him as the truest incarnation of what strongman should be. Not due to his strength but due to his persona. (Zydrunas is right there too, we just didn't get the interviews with him at his prime that we can with athletes of today) Mateusz, you're beloved by so many people you will never meet. =) Shaw is almost always an awesome guy, though he has done similar shit to what Hafthor and Eddie have issues with each other about. Brian moved past them. I honestly lost respect for both Hall and Bjornsson over this crap. (yes I know it's more about the money and not about actual angst) Still makes me cringe a bit though.
Mateusz in 2014: "My Inglish not so gut." Mateusz in late 2020: "My English is not where I want it to be. I like reading Shakespeare and he's my hero in terms of the English language. To be or not to be the world's greatest strongman, that is the question! Verily, I say, I am quite good already, but I can be better. My English needs to be improved upon."
I don't care about the titles, this guy has already proven himself as one of the best over and over again. Pure raw strength, an impressive overhead power, I hope he wins because he wants it so much and he deserves it, but for me he's already on top.
I hate the boxing match between Eddie and Thor.......however, I don't think either of them would have signed the contract if Kieliszkowski was on the other side of the ring. Shivlykov is in the same boat, which is hilarious because as a viewer (even knowing his military background) he doesn't seem it.....until you see what he will compete through.
Facts. Mateusz is my favourite strongman and of course I want him to win worlds strongest man but if he doesn't, oh well. Like you said, he has already proved himself. So many amazing feats of strength I lost count a while back lol
The fact that ppl try to discredit Mateusz on the basis of his deadlift not being good enough even tho he can pull 420kg just shows how elite the competition is now, definitely see Mateusz winning WSM one day!
lol Most top strongmen have dietitians and have their diet down to a science ... Mateusz "someday I have 3 meals somedays 7 ... 8 meals but I never track my calories" ... and this man is killing it lol what an absolute animal!!
At WSM Bradenton in 2019, he was prowling around with his game face on and he looked like the most intimidating human being alive--like he would rip you limb from limb if you gave him a cross eye. And the real Mateusz, as evidenced here, is an exceptionally nice, humble, and pleasant man. He definitely puts a lot of pressure on himself, and that's why he has the potential to be the greatest Polish strongman--if not the greatest strongman altogether--of all time...couple his fire in the belly with the fact that he's a genetic freak super-athlete and there you are...
On one of Eddies videos in Dubai after Mateusz tore is bicep, Eddie is talking to the camera and Mateusz walks through the door. In that 1, maybe 2 seconds he's in that clip it's obvious he is never to be fucked with. He literally looked like the most terrifying Terminator. In that mode I can't imagine a human being on the planet more imposing. Others are bigger but something about that brief look and walk looked like he would tear someones limbs off and keep a dead poker face the entire time.
The coolest thing with Mateusz to me listening to this is how he’s so different in his training approach and eating. No calorie counting or set meals per day...walking events on inclines...just simple logic get food in, train hard, one on one off for better recovery...Love it and for sure a future WSM and Arnolds winner. Talent and strength in spades 👏🏼
Loved hearing once how he trained for the wheel of pain at the Arnolds. He said that all the guys just push a yolk, but he loads up his truck with rocks and weights, and pushes it up a hill.
His 4 stone to shoulder lifts at the 2018 Arnold's sent me through the roof. One of the most impressive feats I have ever seen, and I have been watching Strongman for multiple decades now. I wish this man the best and hope he succeeds. 💪 And once again, thanks Mr. Shahlaei for the content! 🔥
My favourite Strongman thanks Loz. Matuesz is so humble and likeable. Its great to see him smiling and joking. Absolutely no need for any apologies, English is great. I still get shivers thinking of the Car Walk WR. Winning 4 of 6 events at Arnold's what a performance, such determination and drive cant wait to see him lift WSM
I am sure Mateusz will be a future strongman star. I believe he can win either 2020's World's Strongest Man or 2021's World's Strongest Man, and he'd still have plenty more to come. He really is a beast of strength.
He already is. As of now it's Martins, Mateusz in a league of their own and then the rest. If T. Stoltman keeps improving he may take Thor's vacant spot in the strongman top triumvirate.
One of the things people don't talk about enough. Martins started truly believing he could be good enough when he saw another guy as light as himself do so well. (according to him) If Mateusz retired today, I would still sing praises about him to anyone that would listen decades from now. I suspect that in time, this will be the most watched interview from this era on Loz's youtube channel.
@@Sealed_Chamber under every video, many people comment and almost beg for subtitles. I think RealPharm don't understand how popular he is outside of Poland

Kudos for this interview Loz... been waiting to see more of Mateusz. Also, from the angle of being the interviewer, fantastic job of knowing the personality of the person you're interviewing! Mateusz (and Big Z and very few others) are very matter of fact with little to no ego in his conversations. It was obvious you knew that and that you could ask very straight forward questions and make observations that Mateusz would take no offense to and answer just as straight forward. Nice insight Loz. Such a humble guy, but what an explosive beast. The Arnolds was amazing. That frame carry was bunkers. But now there are so many podium level guys that it is harder to win. But more interesting to watch. Looking forward to seeing Tom, Martins & co up against Mateusz in the future.
That WUS win, when he didn't bomb on the deadlift it was well he has this in the bag now pretty much, then he did the bicep, and it was like oh no he was looking really good to finally get a big win, then somehow he got enough stones up with one arm to still win it in the end. Amazing stuff.Meant Luke Stoltman missed out on the big win, but then Luke was was happy to come second knowing that he didn't win such a huge contest on the technicality of someone pulling out hurt.
We all look up to Mateusz so much. He is so humble and positive, such a good guy and athlete. I m pretty sure he ll become wsm sooner or later and it will be even more glorious because of the fierce competition. Thank you so much uncle Loz for securing all these interviews and bringing the best of the guests!

Such an amazing strongman. Never knew Mateusz had so many injuries though. Makes his achievements even more impressive. I like that he is focusing on titles and not records.
Loved mateusz ever since he won that plane pull at wsm in 2017 as one of the lighter competitors, really hope this man wins wsm 2020. Love these big loz interviews hope someone offers you a presenting job for a few of the events this year!
Great interview and the first time I've heard Mateusz speak at length, no problem at all with his English. I'd like to ask, how do you explain the increase in weights that events are now at such as the log lift and stones and world records of rapidly increasing weight e.g. deadlift? Is it modern training and nutrition, could strongmen of earlier generations lift the same weights with the same training, nutrition and conditioning or is it an increase in popularity meaning more genetically gifted athletes that might have chosen other sports are choosing strongman?
What a great interview! I'm such a huge fan of Mateusz Kieliszkowski! Very humble and extremely strong. Hope he gets back to full fitness to reach his full potential!

I like this so much as about all countries around the world with strong men. Different to other people so important for all to get their view on strong men.
Question for Mateusz. When you reach your absolute peak and it’s hard to make any more improvements do you think you will look at a more scientific approach then? particularly with diet or do you think that going by feel will always be tHe best approach?
What a lovely fella. Be nice to see him take WSM one day. Great all rounder and mentally tough, very reminiscent of Pudz. Just hope he isn’t plagued by injury trying to get there. 🤞
how many wsm will mateusz win when his deadlifts are as badass as that fram carry he had at the last arnold's!!! mateusz i believe you got it this year bud!!!💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
I don't think anyone is going to have a lengthy career like Zydrunas again. It's all so heavy these days, you have these really young promising dudes just getting wrecked. Great interview and certainly don't mean to be a downer, I mean it isn't like injuries haven't always been a thing, just seems like now it's so hard to stay healthy. That's the game tho. You're killing it with these interviews, good sir!
He seems like a very nice guy. I hope he gets fully healed before competition, too much competing and never getting fully healed can be devastating. Look at Radzikowskis arms.. and he was such a powerful Strongman too. Maybe it is good that there is no competitions, so everybody can heal up, and some even get some "forced" time off if necessary.
This man's alongside with Thor, competes in the most difficult era of Strongman. Brian Shaw, Eddie Hall, Hafthor Bjornson, Martins Licis (even to include his injuries) really puts him through regardless to how potential he is to his Prime. Hope he gets better each year and win his World's title
Hope his injuries heal well, and that he can win a World's, Europe's, and an Arnold's. I like that he trains every other day now, and that he never counts or force feeds calories into him. His body tells him when to eat.
You only have to watch his Road to Arnold 2019 promotional video that Rogue did (very much propose it), to see how nice he is. Especially the donut part and him 'giggling' in gidiness, which launched an internet meme!

A brilliant strongman, seems so genuine and nice. Big fan, Mateusz.
So Humble Guy
Mateuse is the future of wsm. Keep up the good work. Respect due.
Another great interview big loz 👍🏼
Loz has a great way of getting people to open up! This has made for awesome interviews.
Next WSM for sure🤜🏻🤛🏻👍🏻
Nice to see him smile so much. Seems like he is more confident now👍
As always, the best strongman interviews on the planet. Keep it up Big Loz.
Really hope you get viking power on big loz ,svend Karlsson, brilliant videos as usual
So happy as a fan of the sport that youre doing this series. Keep at it Uncle Loz, unique and quality content
Best interview love Mateus
Great interview, Loz!!
Hope his injuries heal well, and that he can win a World's, Europe's, and an Arnold's. I like that he trains every other day now, and that he never counts or force feeds calories into him. His body tells him when to eat.
Something tells me this man is naturally gentle.
You only have to watch his Road to Arnold 2019 promotional video that Rogue did (very much propose it), to see how nice he is. Especially the donut part and him 'giggling' in gidiness, which launched an internet meme!
