Thank you for the explanation. I have a Traverse 2015 and has been overheating up to 3/4 of the gauge, when driving slow speed in downtown with a lot of stops and high ambien temperature. Fans are OK and start when overheat starts, thermostat OK, temp sensor OK, the only suspects left is the radiatior if it could be blocked or water pump, but i have no leaks at all in water pump and no high noise in it. In your video i see that the blades of the water pump are of metal so it is not very likely to have wear blades, So what do you recommend me to look now? Thank you!

About how many miles does your traverse have ? Ift its over 75 k id say go ahead and do the water pump anyway its preventive maintanace who knkws maybe there is a small leak at the water pump you cant detect.

We did change it. I'm not a mechanic it wasn't easy because the bolts are hard to get to. Unfortunately it did not solve my overheating issue. We plan to change upper radiator hose next. We do have a leak that happens when we stop and turn off the car
