I own this car, full optional, automatic gear, 18 inch rims, and I am super satisfied of it. Definitely a clever concept, small engine (1.0 liter, gasoline/benzine) but really powerful at the same time (125 HP) and lot of room inside the trunk.
I own an st estate & it’s a monster..had it 3 days & haven’t put my foot fully down yet or tried sports mode because it’s overpowered most of the time & the 19 inch giant wheels lose it..gotta be gentle on the pedal & then the turbo makes it very quiet & efficient..
They still make the Focus Wagon in Europe?!! My mom had a 2003 one and she hated that thing but I loved it as it held a lot of stuff and relatively cheap for 2003. I have a 2014 hatchback is it much bigger?
So, not only does the hatchback have rear drum brakes in 2015, but even the family version of it does. I really like the car, but seriously? I would love to see it stop fully loaded in comparison to any other of its rivals with 4 wheel disc brakes.
Arne Dierckx You do know that as most of the weight is over the front wheels and there is a bias to the front the rear brakes are mostly there for stability under heavy braking.
This whole "One Ford" thing isn't quite living up to expectations. There are still models that they aren't bringing to the US. And there are still differences between models. The Fusion/Mondeo may look the same, but the US is a sedan/saloon, but in the UK, it's a hatchback. WTF??
Harbir Brar Because it's not their target. You guys prefer big and useless double cab pickups to use in the city, so Ford assume that y'all don't need any rational (and sexy) station wagon. Besides, there's a plenty of SUV and crossovers too, they'll kill any SW almost instantly in the sales market. And that's just sad.
It's a pitty Matt that you didn't measure the boot, because it is actually one of the biggest in it's class... But hey, f*ck the facts, let's trust manufacturer's numbers, right? ;-)
Marian Cihoň true, but you'll never ever get the numbers claimed by the manufacturer. That's only for marketing, I wouldn't even bother telling the official MPG numbers.Any informed buyer knows about this.
hawkermustang The consumption figures are calculated as per a standard formula (NEDC). Sadly this test is performed indoors, at an ideal temperature, with all ancillary power drains turned off (lights, air con, radio/multimedia system). It's also very easy for manufacturers to optimize the engines on the test vehicles to the very specific test conditions with engine mappings that are not used in production vehicles. In short the figures from NEDC are inherently unachievable in real world conditions.
Ford Focus, new Mondeo Has a longer wheelbase,is longer, wider than a VW Golf, Y is it that its smaller inside, cramped rear seats, cramped boot Seems Ford engineers are doing the opposite of magicians act I ve driven an MKII Focus and even that one has better rear seat legroom than the current MKII Ford is the only brand in Europe that makes a cars smaller and cramped inside while all other brands improve on previous gens
Yuck, the previous focus looks so much better and more aggressive this is just ford adding the fusion grill to yet another vehicle. If I was to get a car looking this boring it would be a golf.
hyylo No, it's like comparing a xeon workstation to a chromebook. Getting a bit sick of the tesla fanboys if I'm honest. While the car is clever it is huge and heavy so is about as agile as a boat and has interior quality comparable to something that costs 3 times less.

While the boot space may be one of the smallest in it's class, it's also one of the widest. Sometimes very handy.
Width is an issue for my work- when I bought my current Focus, the width of the Focus estate boot was greater than in the Mondeo.

podmuse1994 Watch the video. Look up the stats.
As for family city car.. Is it worth buying Focus or Mondeo 12-13 plate?
Really looking forward to seeing car buyers review of the new Ford Mustang GT. That's the car I'm looking forward to the most.

Arne Dierckx I have the 2009 model and it has discs all round, I don't know how they make it for the UK tho.
Arne Dierckx You do know that as most of the weight is over the front wheels and there is a bias to the front the rear brakes are mostly there for stability under heavy braking.
Arne Dierckx The one I drove had discs on all four..
Hi CarBuyer,
When are you going to review the Ford Mondeo Estate as I am waiting for it to see if it's any good.
A lot of manufacturers cheat the boot space litreage by counting the space under the floor.
Yep- and they count space that's actually not useable in general.
It says VW Passat Saloon review in the description instead of Ford Focus Estate
In which Mat Watson calls me a "burly man" again...

I've got 2015 zetecine has not got 8ich screen I got 4 inch why is that
well no more diesel appreciation :( in the UK anyway
I like Ford Focus Estate - Carbuyer
Are they still using Volvos old five cylinder engine for the ST-version?
No it's a 2.0 4 cylinder turbo now
Even with 25% larger boot, you'd have to blind to get the fugly Peugeot over Focus.
taste can't be discussed...... I'd rather take the peugeot over ford. Peugeot drives better too.
Notforyou Dito Lolz
The touch screen comes as standard on titanium and titanium X. hardly all but the entry level!
now why can't ford bring to US?
Harbir Brar Because it's not their target. You guys prefer big and useless double cab pickups to use in the city, so Ford assume that y'all don't need any rational (and sexy) station wagon. Fillipe3210 That's about the best summary of the US car market I've ever heard.
just me or is that grill taken directly out of an aston martin?
xBuzz996 They keep saying that. The Fusion/Mondeo uses a similar grill. But hey, let's forget other cars out there that use the same styling queue.
Can you do a review on the Honda Civic 2015 please:)
can you review the Kia Sorento 2016, please?

2:08 what's all that smook !!!!

Marian Cihoň At leat he noticed that the fuel economy is actually worse than what Ford said :D
kossak007 fuel economy depends on a driving style...
Marian Cihoň true, but you'll never ever get the numbers claimed by the manufacturer. That's only for marketing, I wouldn't even bother telling the official MPG numbers.Any informed buyer knows about this.
kossak007 still, ruler is a ruler.
Well they never do a thorough measurement, its mosty eyeballing it. And tbh, why not trust the manufacturer on the size of the Boot on their car
74 MPG....but when you woke up is just 50 only...
They always lie to you guys about MPG it seems.
hawkermustang Ford especially is very optimistic with it's MPG.

@@HB45175- so why mention them at all, seems daft really.
So...should i click?
So he's Hot! does he come with the car? If so, I'm buying one tomorrow.
youre in carwow too
This was before the carwow days

Hahaha, Scoder Octavia Estate 😂

the mondeo estate is much bigger
get the mondeo if u need more load
In other news, rain is wet.
dont buy a Ford Focus 1.0 ecoboost
it has problems with the clutch........ watching dont get done get dom
The best engine on this car is the 1.5 ecoboost imho, not the diesel.
bebertease, nice opinion. It all depends on what you need a car for. The diesel is better if you do more miles, especially motorway miles.
SEAT Leon ST much nicer.
Tesla > innovation
Ford > new front grill
hyylo Are you really comparing the Focus to Model S?
hyylo Tesla Model S: £59,935
Ford Focus Estate: £17,880
vanhakaveri i am comparing the level of innovation. It's like comparing Apple to Microsoft.
HB45175 Tesla > 10 year warranty on the battery and motor plus cheap electricity.
Ford > pay $$ thousands in maintenance.
