I grew up on the Brosnan era of Bond and I’ve always loved Tomorrow Never Dies, probably my favourite of the pre-Craig era bond movies, watching it again as an adult and it feels so much more relevant with the whole corrupt media mogul plot, genuinely could never get bored of TND, loved the vid and the previous Goldeneye one, you both made some really great points, keep it up 😊

It is a bit unfair how everyone judged this movie compared solely to GoldenEye but they didn't look at the fact that it was actually better than a lot of Bond movies that came before GoldenEye. It was also just bad timing that GoldenEye released its video game months before this and that got the hype going again for the previous movie.
True - the villain in this movie isn't more outlandish than most Bond villains. It's judged harshly because of how good Alec was in GoldenEye. I believe Spectre has a similar issue. Whenever you come right after one of the best, it's hard to still be entertaining but not be that same movie.
I honestly think Carver was a better villain. Trevelyan wasn't all that special outside of having a connection with Bond in the past.
Tomorrow Never Dies is a classic Bond film. Brilliant Bond (Pierce Brosnan), great plot, superb soundtrack as well. Just the right mix of gadgets for the modern era. Clever scheme by villain. Great Bond girls too!
Being compared to the movie right before it is almost a Bond curse now
All brilliant observations. I was hoping a video like this existed as this has always been one of my favourite Bond films. It has everything and most importantly it's just fun and doesn't take itself too seriously, like the earlier films.
Goldeneye, Tomorrow never dies, The World is not enough are, in my opinion, some of Pierce Brosnan's best work.
I love them! They're so fun and I basically fell in love with his acting from when I first saw him in Remington Steele.
A spin-off Wai Lin series would’ve been way better than Jinx.
TND is just pure class. That's all.
This movie till this day, I get a kick out of watching from time to time because of the action scenes. With a kickass score, it remains a guilty pleasure for me.

The most underrated James Bond films are Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever, The Man With The Golden Gun, Moonraker, A View To A Kill, License To Kill, The Living Daylights, Tomorrow Never Dies Die Another Day, Quantum of Solace and Spectre.

I'm hoping I like it more the next time I watch it. It's been a few years since I saw it and as a kid I did really like it. I really like a lot of Brosnans stuff though and I am going to replay his Bonds games soon too.

For me it's not his acting it's just a bunch of stuff imo about how he has publicly treated his family and how he seems to get a pass for anything he does because of certain powerful friends he has irl in certain religious and political positions. But that's not his acting I guess, it more just makes me not want to seek him out.

The First 10 Minutes are great.... than the Bad Guys get their Move in the Next 10 Minutes... THAN IT DRAGS ON TERRIBLY for the next 40 Minutes. IT IS SO DULL.

Tomorrow Never Dies is Pierce Brosnan's answer to You Only Live Twice and The Spy Who Loved Me. What do the three James Bond films have in common are 007 is dressed in a Royal Navy Commander uniform, a state of the art vehicle such as Little Nellie, Lotus Esprit S1 and BMW 750, and an awesome villain's lair such as Blofeld's hollowed out volcano, the Liparus supertanker and Carver's stealth ship.
Very underrated like Die Another Day
I love the movie and played the PS1 game
It was alright at best. The action scenes were pretty good and helped carry the movie but everything else was just Bond by the numbers. It certainly didn’t come close to the bar Goldeneye set although it still wasn’t as much of a burn as going from Casino Royale to Quantum Of Solace was.

In Octopussy Bond used a 9mm Walther P5 as his main handgun.
But changed back to his PPK in A view to a Kill.
Annoyed liberal 14:50 because Wai Lin got grabbed in order for story to create a situation for the Bond girl.

The idea of "recontextualizing" facts or "truth" to make it the truth you want sounded bizarre at the time, in regards to mass media, but it's so crazy how true it is. I appreciate you watching my video!

I thought Tomorrow Never Dies was Mid back when it originally released and a step down from Goldeneye. But watching it back now, with how boring i find the Daniel Craig Era, i do enjoy this and 'World is Not Enough' alot better now.

Thank you so much! I love TND as well. GoldenEye deserves a lot of credit but tbh I'm torn which I like more! I do plan to do TWINE and I actually recorded the audio, but it's a bit of a project. I'm hoping to have it up soon. There is 1 more Bond video I have this next week first then either later that week or early the following week I plan to post my review of TWINE. @@DegenerateJay Sounds good! My read on "Tomorrow's" plot: Bond and M mistakenly assume Carver wants to start WWIII but really he only cares about the broadcast rights in China. The missile will detonate in Beijing specifically where the current leadership is, killing them. The Chinese Air force will attack the British navy. The corrupt Chinese politicians that have partnered with Carver will take control and give him the exclusive broadcast rights. They also intend to negotiate a truce with Britian, so that they'll be seen as world heroes for averting WWIII. When Carver's on the stealth boat with Wei Lin he even has that line about them receiving "A Nobel peace prize" lol. Just how I see it, anyway. You and Jill commented on the music in this film. Have you listened to the soundtrack? If not yet, I highly recommend! 👍

The production of the film was rushed and it shows. Things move along too fast and it feels a little too action heavy. Still, it's satire is pretty sly, the photography is above average, and Carver was a good villain.
I was happy to see that the main villain was not Russian.
Most underrated ps1 game tbh
I'm going to have to replay it because I've tried a few times and I didn't enjoy the gameplay really because of how stiff the control scheme is. I know some people really enjoy it so I would like to watch some reviews on it and see some other opinions/perspectives when I replay as maybe it will change my perspective on it.
