I flew with Garuda from Sydney to Jakarta (and back) in December 2023 and January 2024 on the Airbus A330-300 (the airframe was identical). Both flights have the same Economy seat design as your flight, including spacious legroom (except for the broken tray table on the outbound flight 😑), and decent IFE selection. The cabin crew is fantastic on BOTH flights, but I had a great meal while flying to Jakarta - which was chicken with rice and vegetables and a delicious chocolate cake - though the breakfast was OK on the return trip. 👌 Hearing that Garuda gave you a voucher as an apology for the long delay proves that the airline is improving - if not as good as before COVID - despite operational and financial difficulties. Though an overdue fleet renewal is years away, at least they are streets ahead of Qantas, whose reputation is at the level of the big supermarkets (except for ALDI, though I'm too loyal to Woolies because of their loyalty program!) 😅
Awesome! Yeah there are still many improvements that could be made to Garuda but yeah they’re many streets better than Qantas overall in my opinion hahah.
The Economy Class seat on the newer Garuda Indonesia A330-300's are actually the Collins Aerospace Pinnacle seats (formerly known as the Rockwell Collins Pinnacle seats) until 2018 when Rockwell Collins was taken over by United Technologies Corporation (now a subsidiary of RTX Corporation) to form what we know today as Collins Aerospace.
Oh really?! I thought of the Pinnacle as being more basic but it does look similar to the Meridian so that’s definitely possible. Are you sure of this or is that just a guess? Thanks for the info :D
@@Aviation763 I'm really sure that those Economy Class seats on the Garuda Indonesia A330 are the Collins Aerospace Pinnacle seats. I searched information and details about the Pinnacle seat online, and other operators such as EVA Air and Thai Airways also use the product on their long-haul aircraft.
Love Garuda I’d rather fly with them any day on an A330-300 rather than those 737 - 800 sardine cans that the others use. We are flying on GA719 this morning so thanks for your really informative review it was great, well done. 👏🏴🇦🇺
Another informative review. You are extremely fortunate to be taking all of this travel at such a young age.Hoping this guides you with your future.Seeing the world is a passion of many. Lucky young man.
Thank you! If you mean if I think it’s a good airline, I think it’s a great airline! If you mean if I think a premium focused airline in Indonesia can work well, I’m not an expert on running airlines at all but I think it has potential.
The economy seats are the Safran Z300 i believe. Which can be found on many Long Haul Asian airline fleet like Philippine Airlines' A330,B77W and A350. China Eastern's B77W, and China Airlines' 77W.
There will be some in my next video. Yeah there are certainly some exotic planes there! I’ve actually been lucky to have flown on both of them to/from Bali, so there’s great footage of those planes in those reviews :D
It has been years since i flew with Garuda on Perth-Jakarta route. I was lucky to get DC10, probably its last few flights. But given the choice for practicality, I would choose Qantas since it's the only airlne fly direct. Garuda stopped for transit at Denpasar while the alternative is a stop at Singapore with Singapore Airlines.
I was very lucky to fly one of their A330s (PK-GHG) on a 46 minute hop CGK-YIA. I agree hat the color choice for the seats are quite... Ehh... Interesting and makes the cabin look old. Thankfully, they have changed the seat colors into a more vibrant blue on their refreshed 737s and the recently aquired second hand ones. Tho they still havent improved the key thing for long-haul travel, the IFE
Awesome! Wow I didn’t know Garuda sent the A330 to YIA. Yeah I’ve seen photos of that. Yeah, the IFE can’t compete with competitors like SQ, CX or even Qantas
I don’t really rate flights like that because there’s too many different factors among other reasons. I did, but mine was under the limit so I’m not too sure how strict they were other than what I said sorry.
How's the arrival procedure in Denpasar, is it long as Kuala Lumpur's long immigration on busiest hours, how's Denpasar and did you your vacation in Indonesia?
I’ve only immigrated into KL once, so I can’t compare it that well to that. Immigration in Denpasar was actually not too long, better than my past experiences. Bali was awesome!
When I tell about price of airline tickets, I tell: The good price the price who the passenger buy the ticket, pay the cost’s of operations and is profitable!!!

Yeah me too!! Awesome I hope you had a great flight! Thank you :D
A month ago I flew PK-GHD from Bali to Sydney in row 28. Lovely experience.
Awesome!
I love your vids keep doing what you do!
Thank you! Will do!
Very very very smooth landing, that’s why I love GIA
Have you found they often have smooth landings?
@@Aviation763 in every flight
Always love GIA's smooth landing
Have you found that they often land smoothly?
@@Aviation763 yes, I feel they brake equally along the landing, is not like brake hard on the first touchdown then ease
Internationally and domestically my experience with Garuda Indonesia has been good. I might try their LCC Citilink next time, I've heard it's OK.
Yes, that's right, you have to try Indonesian domestic flights with the most expensive tickets in the world.
Yeah I’ve always liked Garuda since I first flew them. I’d love to try Citilink, I too have heard it’s ok, even that it’s a great airline!
Really enjoying your videos.
Keep up your great work!
Thank you so much! Will do!

Thank you so much! Yes I am aware I am very fortunate and lucky. I’m very thankful for everyone that helps to make it happen, including you :D
@Aviation763 looking forward to more of your travels
Great video!
I’m flying with my wife and four kids in about 2 weeks - I’m glad I booked with Garuda and not Jetstar or Virgin
Thank you! Awesome! I hope you all have a great flight!
Thanks, you did Bali on another airline I may travel to Bali! Thx
You’re very welcome! Yeah I did! Awesome!
Nice one, I've often wondered how a premium-focussed Indonesian airline would go. Thoughts?

@@Aviation763 yeah, I'm not sure how well it would work because of how many people go to Indonesia on a budget. Would be interested to see though

Nice report. Well put together. Thanks for the great effort. :)
Thank you so much! :D
Hope to see some plane spotting from Bali, there is crap tons of exotic aircraft such as the ARJ21 and 737-500s.

Hello, I'm from Indonesia and I'm glad to see your video. It's a great video! 🔥
Hello! Thank you so much! I’m happy to hear that :D
Great Video interesting airline given how much completion they have e.g Singapore Jetstar Scoot Qantas all on similar routes
Thank you! Yeah

Great flights
Thanks for watching :D
Good info on the airline, glad you got to visit the amex lounge I don’t have access to that but other ones.
Thank you!
Another super review, you certainly know how to do a great flight description✈️🌟
Thank you so much!
I hope they start flying to Perth again soon
That’d be great!
hi how would you rate the flights from one to ten? Did you check in a bag? Were they strict with the baggage weight
I don’t really rate flights like that because there’s too many different factors among other reasons. I did, but mine was under the limit so I’m not too sure how strict they were other than what I said sorry.

I see, nice.
This video is 👍!!!
Thank you :D
just curious, do you fly by yourself or with a parent most of the time and how old are you?? (but not in a creepy way)
Mostly with family, but sometimes by myself. 15
When I tell about price of airline tickets, I tell: The good price the price who the passenger buy the ticket, pay the cost’s of operations and is profitable!!!
Makes sense!
It's a lot cheaper than flight from Jakarta to Papua.
Wow that’s crazy
Ou❤
You got a wide body to go to Bali. I had to stick my butt in a virgin 737 for a 6 hour flight, at least I got the row.
Yeah, the widebody plane alone makes Garuda one of the best options IMO haha. That’s good that you got a row!
You sound different .
Hahaha, I probably do
Dying but can't die airline...
Seems like it, hopefully they survive and thrive!
I just found out my friend was on that flight?
The exact same flight?! That’s cool
It's only the very tiring voice narration that only ket me from continue viewing this video.
I'm sorry to hear that, I'll be sure to take your feedback onboard!
Not watching the video because of HDR. My eyes burned. byebye
I’m sorry to hear that
your voice really bad.....
I think that too sometimes
Garuda indonesia is just like our country.
-Bad management
-Good people
-Kind of behind the times
-Has good goals
-Basically bankrupt
I’ve heard that before
their flight entertainment is outdated and terrible.
It is a bit outdated, hopefully they update it soon.
Speak like aussie not like mumble jungle
I can’t understand your English
I’m sorry about that
Another great review mate
Thank you!
I flew out of Melbourne on the 21 of August and I assume you did to?
No I didn’t, I took this flight in June.
