I have the Pinion P Line gearbox with 18 gears on my touring bike and can confirm. With 50kg additional payload I really need these fine granular shifting but without I always shift 2 gears up or down. 9 gears would be definitely enough.
Could I use this bike out on the bumpy gravel tracks that I encounter when I go out on my rigid mountain bike? My cycling is a combination of road/gravel/gentle off-road.
Excellent review. I have been enamoured by the aesthetics of the "Super Model" Wilhelm for some time. Weighing in at 108kilos and 193 cm tall, I have a few concerns namely my weight on an aluminium frame regarding strength and also the rigidity of the frame and its effect on comfort. There are not too many Schindlehauer's to test ride in the UK and none with a 62 cm frame. So I would be gambling with a significant sum of money (they cost even more in the UK). Any thoughts please.
You said the P-line Pinion hubs were lighter than the C line. They are actually heavier. The C-12 weighs 2.1kg and the P1.18 weighs 2.7kg. The Shimano Alfine 8 spd hub is shit. The spacing between the gears are huge making it almost impossible to ride in comfort. The Rohloff Speedhub has 13.4% between gears whereas the P1.18 has 11% I think. It is worth paying extra for the P1.18 especially if you regularly carry heavy loads on your bicycle. The Rohloff IHG and Pinion gear boxes make derailleur transmissions look so primitive and high maintenance.
@@TWOWHEELSGOODmobility no no, you really are :) maybe one day we could go on a bike ride/date? i used to live in cph and bike a lot on a bombtrack. and thanks to your videos introduced to a lot more bikes. but also enjoy watching them cause your so sexy. ✨

Thanks for all the work you do to provide us with such great information.
Thank you for the information, if we’d see a bit more from the actual bike it would have been excellent.
Check! Thanks for the feedback 👍

I'd like to test in on my roads here, we have pot holes that break car bumpers off, like sink holes.
I'm a medium, yours looks to be a large.
500% with 14 gears means smaller steps between the gears, which is something to take into consideration.
Lovely review :-) does this pinion version come with the integrated seatpost and handlebar lights?
Es sieht Klasse aus, ich denke es ist eher für die Ebene gebaut...

i thought pinion less effective than internal hub and classic cassette.
12 kg is “super light” for a bike with a pinion.
@@TWOWHEELSGOODmobility sorry, planetary hub. Like Shimano Alfine and Rohloff.
Awesome review
I don't understand why they change out the drivegear system which is $1200, and then jack up the price for the rest of the bike ten fold!!! 👎
It’s like bike Porn.👍😎😎
Il est trop lent ce vélo
I bet Dorothee has had her gearbox crunched a few times...
Does everyone call you wanker or it only happens on youtube?
You are beautiful, just like this bike
