I know :( I could tell from the first reveal video that he really was thinking how much he could help people with the money instead. Did you think that too? I really believe he would have rather done some minimal fixes for his travel trailer and then helped people with the rest. I would not have been offended if it had gone that direction. When you give to someone it's theirs. Age has a way of creeping up on us though and although Hans looks fit and healthy, one day he will not be able to build a roof or live under the conditions he just came from. I see it as being set up for future retirement, lol. In addition, if we truly are in a grand solar minimum, he would have died in that trailer.

I'm an ebay seller and I held on to it for the good memories, since Darren just wore that thing like crazy. My Mom swore that it came from Aunt Toots in Marmora Ontario Canada and that we were related to the amazing late Greg Terrion of the Maple Leafs. I had finally listed it on ebay but when I saw Alex's story about Hans, I knew that I wanted him to have it. Darren agreed (and BTW so amazed at the old Cadillac story since he's car guy too!) so we mailed it off. Happy that he likes it and I knew it would fit him (as my hubby Darren was 155 lbs in his 20's)but wow, what a great fit!! Just loved seeing all the beautiful things everyone has sent him.
OMG I certainly enjoyed watching that watched all the other adventurous start to finish the Potter House the musicians house and other assorted videos and then I came across this one. So heartwarming I didn't come across this channel until recently I wish I could have been a part of making Hans dream come true
Actually it was 40 dollars but he still got choked up. Someone in England had to go to a place to get Canadian currency that was very thoughtful. It's amazing how many good people are really in this world and so many are here on Alex's channel. I'm so happy for Hans that he is being blessed with a home to call his own and wont have to worry about being cold and now has a place to keep his tools safe. I'm so happy for him this has me in tears. Ok females cry when they're happy explain that. LOL

I was trying hard not to cry during the video, but when he said, ' Honey, I'm home!', I almost lost it! This brings back memories of when I was 62, living in a truck with my bf, waiting for my disability case to settle. It was in November, also, about 9 yrs ago. We were in a Walmart, shopping for what we could afford for family Christmas presents, when I checked my bank balance. Social security had paid all the retroactive they owed! Enough for a small trailer, plus a new start. We got to do crazy shopping that day, running around for all the things we would need! That feeling was amazing and unreal. I know just how Hans must be feeling. Love and best wishes to you, Alex and family, and everyone who brought this dream to life. And especially to Hans, who deserves this so much for all he does for others. 💓🥰😘 Btw: my birthday is next week, 72, and I will be Thankful for knowing all of you beautiful people thru this wonderful site.❣️👏👏🤝👌

My heart feels full of happiness knowing my small donation along with all the other contributions helped make this all possible for Hans. I have done things like this for people in the past and the only things they had to pay for was the materials and ... feed me while I am working if I work over lunch or over supper. I am not talking about taking me to a fancy expensive restaurant either, it could just have been a simple lunch meat sandwich or some spaghetti or even some leftovers. I only asked for the food because of being diabetic and not wanting to suffer from the effects of low blood sugars. I am in south central PA here.
Wow. I rewatched this, Hans has dark circles and looks about 20 years older than he does now (12-2020). It shows how beat down not having adequate shelter, utilities and other basic necessities make you. I'm so glad he's safe, warm and in a happy relationship now. No one should be homeless or without.
It's quite amazing the difference in him, I have got so used to his constant joking around and joy- the difference between surviving and really living. You have to have your basic needs sorted.
I just rewatched myself and thought exactly the same. He seems so much happier and healthier now. He seems like such a good soul. So pleased this happened for him ❤

I remember Alex in a video a while back talking about living in tough circumstances when he was young, and I imagine this is what made him sensitive to Hans' situation, in a time when people are starting to lose the knack of noticing each other, or offering help and service. So many thanks to Alex for seeing this need, and not only organizing the efforts for doing something meaningful about it, but giving so much of his own time and resources as well. And you could tell by the look on Hans' face and the swell of pride that all the mentions of his Viking heritage brought out in him, as he was trying to process all this abundance coming his way after so long a dry spell, was really on point, and the perfect way to build him up, as if he went from feeling like who knows what, to feeling like a proper Viking of old. Hans buddy, you deserve it! And Alex, you really are a good guy, aren't you? Superb story, much needed these days!

wow this hits home, cause I had to live in a shed for 5 years with no water or toilet before I got on ssdi then I had the amish build me a small cabin and put in a well and septic, its not much but at least I can take showers now.

We are struggling here in the US to overcome the last 4yrs of an enabled lunatic in the WH. Fighting covid like the rest of the world. It is September 2021 and certain people just don't seem to care about their fellow human beings...we surely could use some of your wisdom and caring for others. And now, he really IS home. Not just a trailer, or even merely a house, but a real home of his own. With all the help Hans has given others in making houses into homes, he deserves every bit of it.
Her name is Sanovia and she seem so loving and nurturing helping him get the house cleaned up and helping with the shopping trip. She is the kind of woman Hans needs in his life. They said she is a TH-cam subscriber didn't say if she was single or not. That would be amazing if he found a girlfriend. It cracked me up when he said he was getting mop with flowers on it so he could dance across the kitchen floor and pretend it's my girlfriend. OMG LOL. We can pray for his perfect new life he's such a caring and giving man he was even paying it forward buying the nails to put a new roof on a single mom's house. He had said he would do the work for free if she bought the materials yet he was buying the nails for her with the money someone gave him to get what he needed yet he's thinking of someone else. The world needs more people like him and Alex that are so willing to help others.

15 tears ago i was a homeless drunk killing myself slowly, then one day finally got into geared to income housing. a few years later sobered up. My life is very different today because of the generosity and kindness of others around me. I got lucky. this story hit close to home for me. pun intended. These days i buy coffee and donuts when people are cold, when i can afford it.

This brings back memories of when I was 62, living in a truck with my bf, waiting for my disability case to settle. It was in November, also, about 9 yrs ago. We were in a Walmart, shopping for what we could afford for family Christmas presents, when I checked my bank balance. Social security had paid all the retroactive they owed! Enough for a small trailer, plus a new start. We got to do crazy shopping that day, running around for all the things we would need! That feeling was amazing and unreal. I know just how Hans must be feeling. Love and best wishes to you, Alex and family, and everyone who brought this dream to life. And especially to Hans, who deserves this so much for all he does for others. 💓🥰😘 Btw: my birthday is next week, 72, and I will be Thankful for knowing all of you beautiful people thru this wonderful site.❣️👏👏🤝👌

I have done things like this for people in the past and the only things they had to pay for was the materials and ... feed me while I am working if I work over lunch or over supper. I am not talking about taking me to a fancy expensive restaurant either, it could just have been a simple lunch meat sandwich or some spaghetti or even some leftovers. I only asked for the food because of being diabetic and not wanting to suffer from the effects of low blood sugars. I am in south central PA here.

Wow. I rewatched this, Hans has dark circles and looks about 20 years older than he does now (12-2020). It shows how beat down not having adequate shelter, utilities and other basic necessities make you. I'm so glad he's safe, warm and in a happy relationship now. No one should be homeless or without.
It's quite amazing the difference in him, I have got so used to his constant joking around and joy- the difference between surviving and really living. You have to have your basic needs sorted.
I just rewatched myself and thought exactly the same. He seems so much happier and healthier now. He seems like such a good soul. So pleased this happened for him ❤

I remember Alex in a video a while back talking about living in tough circumstances when he was young, and I imagine this is what made him sensitive to Hans' situation, in a time when people are starting to lose the knack of noticing each other, or offering help and service. So many thanks to Alex for seeing this need, and not only organizing the efforts for doing something meaningful about it, but giving so much of his own time and resources as well. And you could tell by the look on Hans' face and the swell of pride that all the mentions of his Viking heritage brought out in him, as he was trying to process all this abundance coming his way after so long a dry spell, was really on point, and the perfect way to build him up, as if he went from feeling like who knows what, to feeling like a proper Viking of old. Hans buddy, you deserve it! And Alex, you really are a good guy, aren't you? Superb story, much needed these days!

wow this hits home, cause I had to live in a shed for 5 years with no water or toilet before I got on ssdi then I had the amish build me a small cabin and put in a well and septic, its not much but at least I can take showers now.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching Hans go shopping for his new home. Great that the $2,000 so generously donated by a viewer stretched to buy him all the essentials - plus screws for the single mother's roof! Happy to read down in the comments that Hans now has a proper bed to sleep in too :D

Her name is Sanovia and she seem so loving and nurturing helping him get the house cleaned up and helping with the shopping trip. She is the kind of woman Hans needs in his life. They said she is a TH-cam subscriber didn't say if she was single or not. That would be amazing if he found a girlfriend. It cracked me up when he said he was getting mop with flowers on it so he could dance across the kitchen floor and pretend it's my girlfriend. OMG LOL. We can pray for his perfect new life he's such a caring and giving man he was even paying it forward buying the nails to put a new roof on a single mom's house. He had said he would do the work for free if she bought the materials yet he was buying the nails for her with the money someone gave him to get what he needed yet he's thinking of someone else. The world needs more people like him and Alex that are so willing to help others.

My life is very different today because of the generosity and kindness of others around me. I got lucky. this story hit close to home for me. pun intended.
