*About SLSA
I feel like i'm going to get a few questions as to if this is safe to work with, etc. First i'd like to disclaim that I am NOT a professional, or a chemist, or anything like that haha. I did some research and from what I've found, it is STRONGLY recommended you work with this while using gloves and a mask to cover your mouth. To my understanding, SLSA is what makes the bubble bars bubble (it's also found in some shampoos) So I would say this is a project not so much for kids. Please use gloves when working with this, and also please wear a mask. When SLSA is in the air it will make you have a coughing fit. My experience is that this IS a safe project, but you really need to be wearing gloves and a mask to cover your mouth!
Other Questions I'm anticipating
Will this stain my tub? Mine did not. It may leave a slight ring, but you should be able to wipe it off right after!
"What gives it scent?" The essential oils are what give your bath products scents! I used one from target as featured in the video but you could honestly use whatever you want!
"How long should I let these dry?" I would say at least 24 hours, maybe 48! I have heard freezing them will speed up the drying process but I haven't tried it myself!
"Can I substitute.... x" There are definitely alternative recipes online, so I would suggest googling it and seeing if you can find substitutes for ingredients that aren't working for you!
Recipe
1 cup baking soda
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/3 cup corn starch
1/3 cup cream of tarter
1 cup SLSA
1/3 cup Glycerin
Essential oil drops
Food coloring
Mask/ Gloves

Between the rest of the ingredients, the whole thing cost me a little over $35. Bath bombs are $12 each, I made 8, so it was definitely worth doing!

if you stir in the food coloring with the glycerin first, you will save A LOT of time, and get a smoother color. I want to try this now :) Thanks!
This is a harder version. What I do is I take any bubble bath or shower gel then I mix in Baking soda until it is a dough, then I add food coloring. I just wait for it to dry, and your done!!

SweetTreats Yeah its like because of the camera body it won't actually autofocus. Its something to do with the t3i. eventually i'm gonna have to upgrade it :(

With the food coloring, would it horribly stain your tub? I would love to try a Lush product out (though living where I do it's only located in one place near me, about 40 miles away), but I also don't want my tub stained

So I did read the description about this but I was wondering if SLSA is a safe synthetic like lush uses because if it is bad for breathing in & touching with your hands then how cld it be good for putting in a bath that your whole body is going in?
SLS is the chemical that makes the bubbles. It's not the best but you'll find it in shampoos and bubble baths. It does dry your skin a bit but that's why products should have oils and such to rehydrate

Addison Neria Lush uses SLS as well. It is listed as Sodium Laureth Sulflate, so these aren't much different than the actual Lush bath bombs. Pretty much anything that has a lot of bubble has SLS or SLSA in it. Even some of Lush's soaps contain it.
Addison Neria Yes as Ashley stated LUSH uses SLSA in their bath products as well because when I was doing my own research I looked up the ingredients on their website. SLSA is safer then SLS which is still being debated.

how do we know the bubble bars are ready to use? do we have to leave them to dry for few hours??
first of all before everyone says im a hater i actually love his channel, its just to say be careful with overusing SLS, as it is used in shampoos etc. bc it is a cheap foaming agent. however, it actually dries your skin alot, so if you need to, use some sort of baby oil/oil in your bath :))

she used slsa not sls.
they are different. slsa is naturally derived from coconut or palm oil and sls is man made.

Yea she did say why she was wearing gloves. Anytime you're using dye you have to wear gloves while mixing just so it won't stain your hands. It takes a long time to get dye off your hands.

I also tried mixing corn starch with a bubble bath solution or you can use body wash (the ingredients have to have slsa) until it had a doughy consistency , then I dyed and shaped it and dried it from 1-2 days. It worked !
