Assiduous observations. Given that the geography is little developed, I'm wondering if the TSR staff didn't assume the post-Karameikos Gazetteers were going to be used by DMs as detours in a campaign rather than destinations. If that is so, it's too bad, since I think Glantri can indeed be an excellent home base for a campaign. In this respect, the AD&D 2e boxed set Kingdoms of Magic does a better job presenting the setting in a way that makes a Glantri-centric campaign viable. I would never use a post-TSR system for Glantri though (or any other D&D game for that matter)... AD&D 2e works well with the Principalities, but the setting was really designed with BECMI in mind.
Thanks for your reply! I agree that most modern players would be aghast at some of the structures in place in Mystara. The depth of Glantri's caste and magic system "enhancements" are indeed hard to represent and reproduce outside of BECMI. At the same time, I believe that this is a great setting, and if you do the work, "most" of the world can be useful for a creative DM looking for something in between "homebrewed" and published. Most of the heavy lifting in regards to politics, economics, and geography (regarding world building) is done - what's left is up to the DM to tinker to fit their system. I appreciate your comment and time, thanks again!
Thank you for letting me know - I'm trying to get better with my audio/video stuff (this was very early in my TH-cam recordings!) I hope you find other information and videos useful, and I appreciate the feedback.
