@@someguy3717 Definitions change. There aren’t sensible definitions which distinguish freerunning and parkour. Flips can be part of classical parkour. For example, doing a front flip is banned in long jump since it’s such an effective technique for gaining distance. The same ideas can be used in parkour. Jumping to a wall or a pole? Doing a flip off can maintain the momentum like a roll would. Falling backwards off something? Knowing how to backflip will mean that you will much better chance of landing on your feet rather than your head. On the other hand, you have something like the reverse vault- stylish but it can be just as practical as kong vault. Modern parkour is just about finding creative and fun ways to interact with the environment and no one cares about the distinction because people realised it really doesn’t matter. There’s new styles of parkour (like monkey style) which don’t fit cleanly into the whole “going from A to B as efficiently as possible”. Parkour has evolved.

Is a stick less impressive when it takes 9 goes. I can understand redoing it in training to progress or get a clip, but at an event I wonder. I don’t do parkour so not sure.
Na, sticks are tough. Even if it takes a few goes, it’s always impressive. Sometimes the battle is even more exciting then the jump itself 😂
