    Just wanna say the editor did a fantastic job on this video! As someone that doesn’t know how difficult certain moves are etc, they really built up the move so I was genuinely so excited before he went for the jump! Great story telling!

      Totally agree! I was sucked into the moment and when it happened I got goosebumps. Great decision to make this it's own video... there was enought "other" stuff to build up the tension of it being a "chance" thing that happened, but it got all the space it deserved and to end it there was just perfect.

    I know this is impressive and all, but can we all take a moment and appreciate how Storror, Dom, and the rest all preach good practices.
    I love how they constantly reinforce that these are not things anyone can just do, and even the pros take time to prep, rehearse, understand the risks and take steps to minimize them.
    They’re setting a good example for the future of the sport, and for action and movement sports in general.
    Check your surfaces, test the area and understand the risks, warm up for safety and to avoid injuries, do your prep and rehearsals and TRAIN! Practice doesn’t make perfect, it makes permanent. Bad habits will become bad muscle memory and lead to catastrophe! So remember to Train your body and mind and be smart. The Storror Way!
    Thank you guys for being a good example and teaching good lessons. I don’t mind sharing your videos with my nephews or anyone else.. because I know that they won’t take the wrong thing away and get hurt.

  • @Devjumps
    @Devjumps 3 ปีที่แล้ว +155

    I loved this because it was a deep dive into the psyche of a parkour athlete. Every step of the way is calculated and the risks are assessed, leaving little room for uncertainty in his mind. It gives him the power to go for the massive challenge. While some people believe parkour athletes are adrenaline addicts or reckless individuals, this shows our sport is more. It’s calm, it’s collected, it’s based on years of practice. This was a wonderful demonstration!

    Putting out a video about an athlete you all respect and showing him the love and admiration you do on your own channel when you know he has one of his own. To me, that shows that you men have real character. You could’ve cut that into a video of all your activities, but you chose to highlight it as the epic event that we all know it was. Big ups to Storror for the selflessness on display, and also to the rest of the athletes there that gave Dom center stage to blow the roof off of a legendary spot.

    You guys just do an unreal job at breaking things down and explaining everything. So many people could have made this video and just shown the flip and reactions but you guys explain what's happening, how crazy it is and the most interesting part for me was when you guys talked to Dom afterwards and asked him about all of his steps and his mental breakdown of how he prepared for the trick. It just feels like a professional program being run by a bunch of relatable normal dudes who are best buds doing what they love. Everything feels so genuine but the education and story telling is there as well

  • @tropical95
    @tropical95 3 ปีที่แล้ว +24

    12:37 I think what he is trying to say is that for the kong pre you start leaning forwards and you have to create backwards rotation. With no flip, the only time you have to influence said backwards rotation is while your hands are on the wall. The rest of the flight you can hardly control the your backwards rotation to land feet in front of hip in the right spot. With the frontflip he can still alter his landing point and orientation by just slowing down or speeding up his flip by small changes to his tuck size. Which gives him a longer timeframe to influence his path, therefore giving him a bigger margin of error. But I might be wrong.

    Very interesting having followed Dom for years, it feels like distance/height/difficulty wise - dom has been doing similar on a weekly basis. He is genuinely that gnarly. I suppose the difference with this achievement is there wasn't any error margin and there were nasty consequences no matter how you looked at it... it just needed commitment. I think all the high profile fellow athletes being there was probably super stifling too - considering Dom usually/lately trains in a really small established group - talk about jelly legs.
