Thank you so much for sharing Jay, there’s been so many times your lyrics have cut deep that I’ve wanted to do the “you ok hon?” reach out, I’m glad you can talk openly here and help the processing of your loss. Huge respect

Goodbye is the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard. I cry every time I hear it. The music, the lyrics, the rhythm……you sharing your Moms and your story is so intimate, I feel honored to know. Thank you for your talent and for trusting us with the love you carry for your Mom ❤

It's painful to lose someone we love, and it takes time to process the loss. Sometimes we don't ever get over it no matter how much time goes by. But the truth also is that when in pain we can't see the bigger picture. And the closer the person, the less we will be able to be open to see beyond the surface of what we consider being the reality, many times by the guilt of not have done, when we could, what we believe might have made a difference.
For me it took me a year to recover from my mother death. And despite all I know about the spiritual world, I also know that when in pain we tend to close ourselves from that world, doing everything we can to not feel the pain, when would be enough and more efficient to face the pain by let us going deep into it.
When we face pain, it just dissolves, but we rather choose to disregard pain and pretend it isn’t there, in this way perpetuating it, indefinitely through our lives. Why does we fear so much to feel pain, to the point we refuse ourselves to look at it, when only after we make the choice to look at pain, can we then, begin the process of healing...
Like the saying, “nothing is ever lost, but everything is transformed”. We just need to see beyond what we perceive being reality.
I know that death is experienced according to the inner knowledge that each one of us have gained through lived experiences, also through the mind and heart openness to seen and unseen things. So we will process it through that knowing even too after death.
I surely want to believe everyone can experience it like a friend of mine did. She told me something that made me to think that death is for the soul as the sun is for a flower. What she have told me, inspired me this followed words:
“Hope arises from the knowledge that life does not end with the death of the body. Death is like a blossoming. Just like a flower blooms at sunrise.”
I hope those words can help you, or anyone else going through the same, to cope with the pain of loss.
    💚🙏💚

“Goodbye” is a beautiful and moving tribute to your mother, as well as a candid account of loss and regret. Acknowledging her struggle with mental illness, sharing your sense of helplessness in the face of her untimely death… this is a gift to those of us who are experiencing life with a loved one for whom we may have similar concerns and fear similar outcomes. If we have any hope of improving the prospects of those suffering from mental illness we must start by removing the stigma and shame associated with it. Thank you for contributing to that effort with this heartfelt post.
