Exploring Beirut, Lebanon in 2022: NOT what you think!

  • Lebanon - a country I never thought I’d visit so early.
I didn’t know anything about this small nation in the middle east. I only heard about Beirut in context of the explosion in 2020 and of course people told me it’s super dangerous there.
But surprise surprise: Beirut is an incredible city and I would love to visit again.
After watching the video myself though, I have to say that I didn’t talk enough about the gravity of the economic situation in the country. The local currency is super fragile and everyone that doesn’t get paid in USD has no chance to live a good life.
Also, the whole country has a big electricity shortage, which is also caused by the economic situation.
Unfortunately, I only learned about the gravity of this topic in the last evening in the country (after coming back from Syria) so it’s not part of the video. But still: Lebanon is a beautiful country with amazing people and incredible food! Can’t wait to go back!

Hi, if you'll spend more time in Lebanon, I recommend in Beirut (Gemmayze street has nice pubs and bars; neighborhood of Achrafieh has nice architecture). Outside of Beirut, I recommend Harissa (a mountain overview; officially a church site); the city of Jbeil aka Byblos (go to the old market and harbor area); for mountain resorts (Faraya). For food I recommend trying Hallab (an oriental sweet shop that has many branches in Lebanon); I also recommend trying food called Manakishe (flatbread with thyme). Best of luck.

You only are guiding him to the Christian places dude don't listen to this idiotoo, I recommend you visit Tripoli, Sidon, the biggest cedar forest in Lebanon and the Middle East Called Arz Al Barouk, you can visit the best palace from 1500 years built by Prince Fakhr El Dine in Beit Al Dine (They are who established Lebanon and Ruled the country for over 1000 yeara. Then go to ChallalatNabehElSafa You got a restaurant and inside the waterfalls. then go to the Lebanese mountains on the other side from Alley City, you will have the most panoramic view for Beirut in the whole country, YTons of Capturing beautiful pictures IMO. continue to the mountains to the Villages of Bhamdoun, Hammana, Falougha I think and many will agree that they have the best views In Lebanon and the largest pine forests in the country and the middle East, famous poet La Martine had wrote some popular poems and books about this majestic place.
Yes you can go to Faraya but also go the Lebanese Cedars with the highest Snow Resort in the Arab World and the MEA.
Don't forget to visit Rahaya Valley and village (The most beautiful village in Lebanon for sure) behind it you will discover the famous El Sheikh Mountains which are higher than Sannine and other mountains. Hike to the Top you will see the highest 3 summits in Lebanon and also you will see Syria and Palestine.
      DM for more. :) Enjoy

It’s 2024 right now and they did fix most of the traffic lights, especially in ashrafieh they all work, the country is doing way better. And I don’t understand the reputation of Lebanon being like Syria it’s more like a mix of Kuwait and Greece (has malls, full of international brands, areas like Batroun very similar to greece, etc)

It is not 100$ for a burger since u have to take into consideration the economic crises. 1$ was 1500L.L but now it is like 1$=80,000L.L

    Condescending comments throughout the video.
False info (for instance martyr’s square statue has nothing to do with commemorating the revolution)
Also who has mcdonald’s in lebanon!!!

      @philipptravels  ปีที่แล้ว

Sorry you interpreted it this way. I just openly spoke about the feelings I had in the moment but it was never meant in a disrespectful way!
About the “false info”: Well, I’m not an expert but I explained what I understood from what I read. If I got something wrong, correct me :)
And the mcdonalds war for the tiktok to explain the situation with the two exchange rates. I dont see anything wrong with that ;)
