I was watching this with my dad today, and we realized that this entire segment is completely baffling for colour blind people. He thought the car was an odd shade of blue.

@cartwork2013 yes they have definitely played with the filters to make the pink more pronounced. Everything that is red or reddish has a pink tone to it.

They should have used this as a "backup car" during one of their challenges, the "undesirable" car that follows them ready to give to a presenter if their car breaks down. Would be much more suitable than a 2CV, Morris Marina, or VW Beetle, especially considering that, even by their admission, the latter two of those actually "won" their respective challenges.

It ends up not about being comfortable with it. It's more the fact that it looks horrible. I've driven the 1.1 petrol regular version and, while nicely equiped, it wasn't all that nice to be in.

The pink car was sold and done in that colour,for a breast cancer charity. Apparently they gave a percentage of every pink one sold to breast cancer charity. Top gear failed to mention that before taking the piss

What I find funny is that the Micra (the coupe, anyway) was the grand prize on Alta Tensión, Spain's version of Wipeout (the Tomarken, Daniels, and Monkhouse kind made by Paramount).
At least in season 2; before that it was a Fiat Punto.

@@bobsteel2654 Where I come from it's very common to have all the interior parts replaced/restored to look and feel as good as new. All used cars here have fake mileage, tuned to show not more than 100k miles on the clock instead of 350k or more. It's a real pain in the ass to find a good car when all cars built between 2005 and 2017 show almost the same mileage. And there's no telling if they did the same to yours, so don't judge a book by its covers.

My dad owned a pink Polo III. I'd've loved to own that thing... only it'd rusted away before I could get my hands on it. That was a nice car, and the only one ever made in matte pink from the factory.

That's a limited edition Micra C+C in bright pink launched in support of Breakthrough Breast Cancer in 2005. Apart from the appalling colour, there's nothing wrong with the car. Obviously it wasn't made for the Tog Gear petrolheads, but it still turns heads for its style in 2018, especially with the glass top down. In the clip they 're bashing it, as usual, for comedic effect.

I got the micra k12 from my grandmother and drove it 2 years. Did not needed a single repairment. Good and safe car if you dont want it the sport way

i had micra for 3 years now. it is the best car i ever had. it's so easy to driver around in the city, easy to park, the best bit is the outlook. it looks so cute and appealing to me.

Do these Euro Nissans also use a CVT?
99% of Japanese cars has a CVT nowadays (Besides manual for obvious reasons). It's good for fuel economy and enjoyable to drive in high traffic areas (Although as power sapping as it may be)

ok here goes ive read all the comments and seen the top gear.. i bought one of these 2 years back in RED not Pink!! Auto and picked it up for £800 at auction on 81000 miles its now done 114000 without nothing going wrong other than tires and brakes.. its designed in london and built in sunderland so a totaly british car it drives well the ful glass roof is great very sad all the lemings have to copy richard hammond here as its fun to drive and best value car ive ever bought im just glad its not pink

I'm from Ledbury! I can confirm Hammond indeed does shop there. I've seen him a couple of times at the local Tesco. The next time he mentioned Ledbury, he was driving the Six-wheeled Mercedes G63 around Dubai... which is where I live now!! 😂

I think they spent more time criticizing the color rather than reviewing the car its self. Micras come in different colors.
