Watching him play Cambodia was weird because his entire arc was “I UNDERSTAND HUMAN EMOTIONS” while very much not understanding human emotion
Yep. At the final tribal council the funny thing is Spencer was telling the jury about that while Jeremy showed them emotion by crying about his family. Spencer still has a lot of research to do about human emotions.
Still computing.
@@cjtrules1 It's a good thing that Spencer isn't one of these players who cry telling their sob stories to get the judge on their side at the very end
@@Onche518 If you are referring to Jeremy then I don't think that is really a sob story. He got an opening to talk about his family and he took it. He's a passionate family man with another kid on the way at the time. I didn't necessarily like him saving that heart string moment for FTC but he did.
Spencer doesn't have a family of his own so when answering what his 2nd chance is it was only for himself and no one else. Playing for someone else will always trump playing for yourself.
The problem is, he understands them LOGICALLY but emotions... Aren't logical.
Spencer: Wentworth doesn't have an idol.
Wentworth: *has idol*
Jeremy: She found one before, she could have one again.
Spencer: So did you. Doesn't mean you have one now.
Jeremy: *also has idol*
Lmaoo right
You know it’s good when Spencebot proclaims he’ll play a better social game and gets left on the bottom in a matter of minutes
Nice name bro
Cool Guy Casey lol u 2 bro
Well he shouldn't have played too hard in the beginning. He kept Abi just cause she would be a number for him only for her to turn against him
@anony moose Well to be fair, he got pretty lucky with multiple switches ensuing. (and this is from a Spencer fan)
@@pleasesubscribetomynewyout5330 I think that the only switch was actually luck for him...
Unpopular opinion: I really liked Spencer's arc in Cambodia. Some of it was cringe, but seeing him at the loved ones visit was such good character development that the show can't really show that often. I definitely think Jeremy should've won, but he got bashed way too much by the jury just because they thought he was emotionless. He played a very solid game around his known weakness of not being great at making connections.
Perry Wilson agree with you
Agreed and I'd love to see him play again. I think Jeremy deserved to win, but I was surprised Tash and Spencer didn't get a single vote. It's not like they were GOATS like Troyzan. They both played great games
Jeremey deserved to win but Spencer deserved a few votes.
I think a major thing that hurt Spencer was at the end when he threatened Jeremy to take him to the final 3. Any sense of progression that the jury felt for him was gone at that moment.
I agree and the way I saw it was Spencer made some connections to a few people but everyone still saw him as odd and got the feeling they couldn't trust him completely. That conversation about not telling his girlfriend I love you is all great but that would have been a better conversation to have around the campfire to a group.
-I really like Savage
-Interestingly, he wants you out
"Surprised pikachu spencer face"
I love how Jeff goes "Spencer has a girlfriend!" like it surprised him or something
Ok though, that scene of him and Jeremy talking about his girlfriend is amazing
Honestly I cringed my way through the whole thing
I felt Jeremy was super uncomfortable with it. I also liked it but when his whole goal was to be more emotional and make more connections, that story would best be told around a campfire in a group.
Christopher Thomson That story would be best never being told
@@sideeswipe LMAO
To this day, I still don’t understand why they gave Spencer this fake growth edit when he ends up being a 0 vote finalist. Also his social game wasn’t bad in Cagayan.
They made it seem like he had the worst social game and focused too much on strategy in Cagayan and now hes growing and emotional!! When in reality he had a good social game in Cagayan and might’ve won unanimously if he got to the end (at least everyone that got voted out before him would’ve voted for him), while in Cambodia his social game was really poor and ended up losing because people thought he was too arrogant and didn’t connect enough with people.
TheMurrmursonbottle Not that simple. He was pretty likable both times. In Cagayan, thanks to Kass flipping, Spencer was always on the bottom. It made it impossible to get to the end, but his social game was good enough to make people like him (along with terrific strategic and physical games) that he would have won if he made it to the end. His social game wasn’t good enough to make people trust him enough to flip and join him (plus Tony’s idol control kept people in line).
In Cambodia, Spencer actually had an improved social game of forming bonds with others that were stronger that allowed him to navigate the fluid voting blocs and infiltrate the majority alliance. The problem was he got TOO personal with the people he backstabbed and they felt burned. That would be alright if your competition was just Tasha, but not if you’re sitting next to Jeremy, who never had to betray anyone.
Because they wanted at least some suspense about who would win heading into final tribal
@@baileyolde7302 exactly this
Because it's all he talked about.
Spencer is that unique type of player who is both confident and vulnerable, super smart yet socially unaware. He's the underdog who at first glance shouldn't be, but he acknowledges his shortcomings and welcomes growth. Who wouldn't root for a Spencebot like that :).
Spencer happily kissing his girlfriend. Keith: *There ya go spaaance!*
spencer trying to make himself cry is so beautiful
01010101010101 !!!!!
He really tried there
Wtf was that lol
idc what ppl say, i will always LOVE spence and hope that he will come back in a future season
f i n n w o l f h a r d t e h e h e same
Literally same he doesn’t have an amazing social game but he’s so strategic which is amazing
Yeah, me too. He reminds me of my brother.😂
f i n n w o l f h a r d t e h e h e he said he’d never play again 😔
Baki. No that’s not really what he said, he basically said he’s not ready to play again yet, so he’s someone that I’d see returning in the future again once he’s in a more steady stage of his life. He was in a pretty bad mindset during Cambodia and Cagayan.
Spencebot.exe has stopped working
There’s a reason people don’t change for the better and fix their flaws more often.. Notice how Spencer decides he wants to change for the better and how quickly people in the jury and comment section are shooting it down..
He might not have succeeded at becoming more emotional and social but atleast he tried, plus he was so young that he has so much room to grow. People hate too much when all he is trying is to get better
This is what makes people stay under their rocks and hide away instead of attempting to make a change.. because fear of getting shot down like this
To be fair, if we're talking about the game he needs to have showed that he has changed by the time that they're casting their votes. Not that he's trying to change since the other people they can vote for are already at the point that he's trying to reach.
Trying isn't enough though. Trying needs to be commended at the start and during a process. But not forever. Spencer was in the game for the whole duration but he didn't build a good relationship with anybody, he was strong arming some people and like Kass said, he labels her as a dumbass. Don't get me wrong, I rooted for Spencebot during both of his seasons but trying is different from doing.
It's like saying that it should be okay for your father to stay as an alcoholic even though he said that he's been trying to stop since you were 8 years old. You can't be "trying" shit forever. There needs to be a result. Yes, he said I love you, but his girlfriend isn't on the jury.
@@xinyixinisterx Technically, and in a general sense, of course we should cut him some slack. BUT, this is Survivor and you said it yourself - it is only 39 days long. When you have 1M dollars at stake, you can't make excuses.
The problem is Spencer didn’t have to fix his social game in the first place. He easily wins Cagayan if he made it to the end. So him trying to fix something that wasn’t broken ended up being his downfall.
Spencer took his loss in Cagayan way too hard and he was determined to course correct so much that he ended up driving himself into a ditch. He played a pretty good game in Cagayan, sometimes you just end up on the wrong side of the numbers. If he just tried to be himself in Cambodia, he would have had a much better showing.
BUT he would've still been a bad person
@@KingEthanual But better than how he was actually in Cambodia.
Tbh i really don't like how hard people were on him in Cambodia. Hes really tried to do his best and fix his flaws. I think that hes a great player and the fandom needs to remember he was super young at the tme... i can definitely see him winning and playing a great social game in a few years.
i think hes done playing
@@Carney33 idk i would love seeing him play again but it depends on him obviously

true. bitter jury
I always felt like the Spencebot narrative was most perpetuated by Spencer himself, like a self fulfilling prophecy. He's way too hard on himself and I hope after his Survivor experience he has learned to chill out and be more confident in himself.
“People are not chess-pieces and they need to be related to on a human level” is the most chess-piecey way to talk about people lol
"Does Savage actually... Want to go after me?"
"Yeah."
"... *Huh* "
Jeff Varner was such a hypocrite like he reprimands Spencer playing the game and his ass was running around making alliances with everyone and their mom
shukri nur He was actually trying to flip-flop between the old schoolers and the new schoolers. He wanted to gain their trust initially, but turned on them in the second episode. It was actually a clever move since nobody suspected him of any wrongdoing. I think Varner is a much better Survivor player than what the results say and what people give him credit for.
Anthony Mendez voting out Peih-Gee was stupid though
@@random_jae5886 Not really, giving the signal to Wiglesworth that he did was what was stupid. At that point, the original Ta Keo's were so divided that he didn't really have any other choice but to vote out PG to stay in the majority. Sure, he was next to go no matter what most likely, but it bought him one extra round, so that's something.
@@nelsdanburg5407 well, he could've just voted out Abi and be in the majority with Woo and PG
@Peter McGill GC was Varner's best season until the outing tbh
I don't know why everybody hated his game this time around, I think he saw his flaws and tried to fix them.
In Cagayan he would’ve won if he got to the end and he only lost cause of kass’s flip, which was out of his control, whereas in this game he always had the power post merge and managed to fuck it up and become a goat
Bitter jury that he voted them out.
Varner to Shirin and Spencer : shouldn't we think about who's next?
Also Varner : Shirin and Spencer play the strategic game too hard
his gf was so happy when he said i love you 😭💕
Okay, but his girlfriend is GORGEOUS.
Ok
“Spencer has a girlfriend!” -Jeff Probst 2015
I don’t care what anyone else says, Spencer is one of my favorites even though his game is a little wack at some points
maggie palmieri !! same here... i am still his fan
I've officially decided to subscribe as a Patron, I think I can afford it now. Thank you for these great compilation videos.
I like this idea for a video because I've learned in media that very emotion-less people are oddly appealing to the audience. Abed Nadir from Community is a great example and Cody Nickson from BB19 was a fan favorite too.
Also, as flawed as Spencer was, his relationship with Shirin I think really humanized him. Remember, in her last season, she was bullied by people and told that no one was missing her back home. And Spencer, a completely robotic, unfeeling person, said he didn't have a bad thing to say about her when voting her out, only doing so because he had to. That's a really sympathizing moment for me...even if his tact isn't the best: "Kass, 0 chance of winning the game."
@Natalie He is, but he also won America's Favorite Houseguest. I didn't vote for him, but those are the facts there. I'm not happy about it either.
It was hilarious seeing Spencer and Kass trying to have a casual friendly conversation with each other 6:20 😂 they are 2 of my favorites if they ever do a rivals season.. I really hope Spencer and Kass are each other's rivals lol
I love how he dedicates his second chance to improving his social game, only to play a much worse one than in his original season.
Damn, i had no idea Spencer was hated so much after reading these comments. He wasnt my favorite but I didn't hate him either.
Honestly this is why survivor is so good, it’s such a dynamic crazy ass game. It’s so hard to pin down a good strategy. There isn’t really a full-proof way to just win.
The one good thing about the Lock-in? Extra time for the creation of quality Survivor content.
I read somewhere that Spencer lives in a cult commune now, outside of the USA. And, he changed his name.
IMO I honestly didn't like how the jury was so hard on Spencer in Cambodia. I didn't necessarily agree with Kimmi's comment about how he was being a bully since I personally didn't see it. He tried his hardest to not be the Spencer he once was. And I feel like Kass was the only one who understood that he wasn't that person anymore and that he has changed.
I know, I love Spence so much. Granted, my type is slightly arrogant guys, so I miiiight be a little biased, lol
When Kimmi said that I was super confused. I thought he made a great play by saying He would have fought for Kelley to win, because she WOULD have deserved it. So I now hate Kimmi
Bertram from Jesse Honestly though! What Spencer said was true. If Wentworth was in the Final 3, she would have won hands down even though Jeremy played a great game.
The edit doesn’t show everything and Kimmi isn’t the only one who thought Spencer was being a bully. Both Spencer and Tasha got better edits than they deserved.
A.J Deets idk, Jeremy did a video saying Kimmis comments were uncalled for and he respected Spencer’s tribal. Kimmi is just upset that being a boomer and not playing the game doesn’t win her the million
I wanted him to win Cagayan. I hope he decides to come back. He’s just being logical and playing the game imo
I still can't believe Spencer basically threatened Jeremy and Tasha to not send him to the jury or he will campaign for Wentworth, and actually got away with it lmao like it actually worked 😂
The dude actually did a 180 turn in his life. He went from a cold and calculated player to literal hippie
Reminds me of a robot cosplaying as a person.
I never really noticed anything about him being emotionless in Cagayan.
5:46 his face is like "that's what I'm meant to say right ?"
I went back to that spot and cracked up.
I love that Spencer has seen this, and some of your other videos. The world is crazy
Where has Spencer said he's seen this? 😂
Everyone's making fun on him but I really resonate with him on this. It's not like we wake up and say "I'm not going to be emotional today".
I love Spencer and was always rooting for him
Spencer: I need to cry, tear activated
Program: ⚠️System low in H2o⚠️
I think we’ll see him play again when he’s in his 30s and has kids
I see him being a season 50 castaway thinking they will do a legend season of some sort that isn't all winners so 5 years down the road now and it would've been in theory 8/9 years ago until he would be playing again.
Respect for being on the outside the entire game and make it to top 3
This entire video is like the definition of the opposite of subtlety.
The thing with Spencer here and why he came off as odd is that he tried too hard to be someone he's not. He acted like a robot that booted humanacting.exe, and while he was genuine, he just hit the uncanny valley and came off as awkward.
Spencer was one of my favorite players of arguably all time⭐️ I loved him in BB +B and I loved him in Cambodia. I thought he was entertaining and I definitely noticed his change in his second season.❤️
Spencer: "People are not chess pieces, and they needed to be related to on a human level."
Also Spencer: "I didn't really have close relationships."
He still needs to try and mature just a little bit. To be honest. Then i think he will come back. Also. I dare you to make a billy vid. I wanna see his alts SWARMING around here
Nocturnal he said in an interview he’s not coming back.
@@legendarysingh2173 It's still to be seen.
lmao I can see just see them:
"Billy OMG we love you sending love from Spain!!
he was a really interesting character but yes, you need times to mature, it can't just be done in 3 days on an island.
Lol all of Billy’s alts kill me everyone I see them 😂
Hot Take: if Spencer, Wentworth, and Tasha were the final 3 over Jeremy, Spencer would get some votes even if Wentworth wins. It wouldn’t be unanimous like Jeremy even if Spencer was devious
Emotion gets you to the end sometimes but logic will win you the game. Had Tony not been so stacked with a super idol and idol in Cagayan I think Spencer has a chance to win it
Poor spencer finally gives humanity and emotion a chance and they vote Shirin right out 😭 I would've loved to actually see them play together for a bit
Oh my god the title is hilarious 😂
I wanna see Spencer Play again after he grows and matures in the mental, emotional and social aspects. IK that not many people like him in Cambodia but I still like him, he just had a different role unlike in Cagayan being the underdog, but I will say this. his Social game was better in his first season since he wasn't trying too hard, but I bet he's going to improve next time since he's a student of the game and it seems like to have pretty solid bonds with other survivor players outside the game like Brice, Wendell, Eliza, Hannah,Kim and Jeremy plus he looks a lot more healthy than before so I will like to see what he got to over.
Idk why everyone hates on him he is one of my favorites
Same, he’s one of the more relatable people in the show.
I'm sorry but when he cried at 1:13 I laughed so hard
Kass owning Spencer in the end with her jury question is golden. He played arguably as chaotically as Cass did and he shat on her for the way she played and yet he thinks when he plays that way it deserves a win.
You gotta love Spencer. Great player overall good guy
Looks like a human version of crash bandicoot
Spencer did play like chaos kass. I’m re-watching the season and it was hilarious.
He and Kass are a smarter, weirder Colby and Jerri. Lol
He's a fascinating character. And I've heard that he swears CBS made him pretend to be a hardcore conservative in his online bio; I could see that going either way, he's just that much of an enigma.
Spencebot 😂
Apparently the jury hates honesty.
Jeremy is truly the most attractive male survivor contestant ever.
Went down a rabbit hole and found out Spencer now frequently does psychedelics and lives in a commune in Ecuador… he’s a completely different person now, really hope he’s okay
he looks like cato from the hunger games
I can see it!
2:26 Spencer trying his hardest to sell you the Spencer, the Psychopath Narrative. 😅
underrated & underdog bruv
I honestly don't know why everyone was so hard on him. he played the game hard and I think he would have won BBB if he made it to the final three. He is and always will be my favorite player.
That final four tribal though... got dang...
This just cracks me up tbh
Probably the best season of returning players ever
HvV is better but aight
I got the theory that Spencer's game could be what Russell's game would be if he returns again....
hearing racist and transphobic Kimmi call someone else a bully is crazy tbh
2:49
Spencer: spider mode
spencer always wearing green
I just...don't see his appeal overall. He came across as disingenuous and arrogant most of the time, but the "I love you" part was very sweet. Good for him.
Funnily enough, I don't consider Spencer to be a gamebot. The fact that his social game weaknesses is highlighted and his frustration with that is actually at least a portrayal of a character.
A better example of a gamebot is funnily enough everybody else in Cambodia (due to their new school edit not their personalities) except Abi and Peih-Gee
I don’t think he should’ve flipped in the final 7/8. He should’ve stayed away from Jeremy.
To me this seems like an example of an INTP struggling with and exercising the 4th (inferior) function Extraverted Feeling (Fe)
Edit; I watched again and I think I see some Te opposing too.
Kiseo Chan I was just thinking about this haha, he tried so hard to develop his inferior but it wasn't happening
@@isabella7131 I think he did great but as an INFP I tend to stay away from super high Fe users. I LOVE lower Fe though. Fe inferior is adorable to me! XD
Human emotions does not compute
I have always liked Spencer. He is a bit arrogant at time, but he is a good strategic player. I also feel bad for the guy because he is one of the most unlucky players to ever play Survivor! Almost everything goes wrong for him! I think that it would be very interesting to watch him play again.
Russell and Spencer has a lot in common when we think about their journey in Survivor.....
Was Spencer actually even crying about having to vote out shirin tho 🤔
You can call him a robot all you want that man is pulling harder then anyone in this comment section.
Am I the only one that didnt think Spencer was.. yknow, weird with emotions in cagayan?
I like Spencer though, hope we see him again in another season.
Spencer is every Autistic persons' internal monolouge LOL. To this day, I am so curious to see if he IS on the spectrum... If so... His story becomes even more relatable!
Just to clear misconseptions up, I am not going off of the durogatory comments Varner made to Spence.
Spencebot has evolved
He is one of those players that constantly confused me lol
The first 12 minutes was fun, the rest (as a HUUUUGE Spencer fan) was hard to watch
I like Spencer but him being strategic was kind of cringe at some points... And showed why he probably lost.
Make a Special Agent Phillip Shepard!
Hell Yeah!!!
He gives me such a Jessie Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg vibe
Luke Ferraro Jesse eisenberg is so spot on I’m amazed omg
I think he’s trying to force it.
I like him so much, he was very clever in every challenge. Love u Spencer💗💗💗
This title is rude, but it's fucking hilarious.
I loved him in Cagayan, but he was a powerful goat in Cambodia.
Let's face it, if Wentworth made it to the Finale, she would have won (but she didn't)
When i hear spencer all i think is : *shirin and spencer*
