Canadian IPSC Production National Champion runs a 1st Gen Alien . I’ve squadded with him and he just rips. I have one too but don’t compete with it as I need Optics for my eyesight and Open minor isn’t my thing.
What about the gun heating up and scorching the user after a few mag dumps? Are they going to install some kind of thermal / heat shield or expect the user to wear silicon gloves to prevent being burned holding / using the gun?
What are your holster choices? Specifically for the limited optic model. I'm sure a kydex holster won't work because of the thumb rest. You'll need a race holster.
@TCSA gotcha. I have the LO on order and would like to see what you have if you can remember. I did see that DAA has a race holster for the Alien. Thanks.
Oh man - If I wasn’t in Canuckistan a Creator with the Retro kit would be on my radar. I’d sell my Gen 1 Alien as it shoots great but don’t like the grip angle
Confused yall just went over how the retro mount is no attached to the reciprocating slide but then the interview says how he never loses the dot during shooting. Is this statement solely bc of how little muzzle flip the alien makes? How high does an optic sit when using the retro mount. With some newer optics ie Romeo x pro the deck height is very low. Or with many new guns mfc are choosing a direct mount on the slide so optic can sit as low as possible. What is laugo doing to address optic height? Has laugo addressed how much heat is felt on the frame during rapid shooting strings?
Yes I have an Alpha X holster with an Alien insert, however the thumb rest has a bump in the bottom which does not allow for the holster to clip. We'll tell you later how everything works out. @@TCSA
@@TCSA what if the competition requires 9 major? It is awesome because you can switch a couple of things really easy and shoot a different division. When you think about the cost of buying 3 2011s to shoot 3 different divisions this is actually a good option with the added benefit of consistency in a single platform. Im just wondering how it would compete against a 9 major 2011 open gun.
it's cool, but it's not 7k USD cool... I get it, the bore axis is incredibly low and after having shoot one its very good, probably the best stock pistol I have ever shot. But when I was let in on the price... A Tanfoglio gold match or is 90% of this at 1.4k. Thats honestly the problem at the higher specs pistols the gains are so small. I'm not detracting from its prestige it has most definitely earned it, but it's not worth 7k. I'd say it shoots like something that should cost around 2k mark...
Exactly what game are you speaking of. It’s a $7000+ gun. A game comprising of 3 people? To change “the game” it would need to be waaaaay more accessible. Is it awesome and a completely different way of thinking when it comes to weapon design, sure. Game changer, not yet.
You do realize that there are guns in the competition world that are $15,000? So the fact that the gun is like no other I would consider it a game changer.
@@TCSA you do realize there are guns that are $30,000. We could play this game all day. Luago innovated when they brought the alien to market. It doesn’t change the game until those innovations trickle down.
Thanks for the video Tom! It was great meeting you at the show.
Can new angle grip from Creator , be put on Alien?
Man thats cool they really pushed into the uspsa and comp world.
Saving some buckaroos for the limited optic...
They need to develop an EDC version!
@@PlayBetterSlots I highly doubt that will happen
The company rep was great
Good stuff Tom!
Lefty gas pedal and holster available? Any issues shooting this left handed regarding ejection of casings?
I really can’t answer that as I’m not left handed
Great video Tom! Are you able to remove the thumb rest and magwell to make the LO Creator also legal for Carry Optics?
This is Limited Optics legal only.
How about making the Laugo Alien in a race gun configuration???
Let us know when the LO kit is available separately.
Looks like Feb
Would be nice if we can get a look at it
I might be making that happen very very soon.
Would love to see some GMs run this at the highest level and see what happens
I’m working on it 😊

Can you buy these in California ?

What about Holsters with the Thumb Ledge?
Race holsters will work but I’m going to see if they have any recommendations.
I wish us “poors” could afford one. 😢😢
Could you please ask them which competition holster they recommend?
There will be one coming out soon from a holster company I’m working with hopefully.
@@TCSA I modified my alien with casapuntos, comp and thumbrest and nothing fits. Thanks man great videos!!

For $7k you better have support for those guns.

Sub compact carry alien ?
We need a compensator for open
Not for this gun. It’s equal or flatter then an open gun.

Does anyone make a 141mm magazine for this?
They make a 22 round mag

Laugo arms website is the only place I know of right now.

Man, the rules are so stupid. They had the perfect optics ready factory pistol, and then they demand they put the optic back where it gets beat up.
