Saw it once live in 02. Didn’t realize what I was witnessing then. D/R/T is the reason I play guitar. Hell the whole album is. Still sounds brand new to me
this triad has inspired me to create something more, maybe not better than tool, but surely this masterpiece has sown beauty in me and in you at some time. saludos desde chile. deadmantra. seba.
Danny at the beginning of Triad is otherworldly. I mean the whole song is, but there's something hypnotic and wonderful about the way he comes in. The drum cam footage for Triad gives you some perspective on what he's doing, so check it out if you've not seen it!
Entropathocracy69 lol so many good times listening to Tool on a mixture of acid and ecstasy alas psychedelics show you what you need to see not only what you want to see so once you’ve got the message hang up the phone! ;)
I witnessed just shy of 200 different concert artists (some multiple times) between 1998 and 2014. Lateralus tour, Tool live, fairly certain it was 2002, was a helluvan experience. Tomahawk was the opener...Mike fricken Patton was banging a small kit during the heavy and high end of holy trinity. No concert before or since could match the level of energy and immersion from start to finish. What they do and have done is not an easy thing, professionally or personally, but I hope they know that Tool fcuikgn nailed it. Whew!
Tooligans - never heard of dat one and I love it. 'Squash the beef' - you are a poet and don't even know it. Learn an instrument bro - I'll be the first one at your concert.
44 this year was up and down but over all made it through it with help this time and from strangers that just for me bring that missing pieces to the unsolved puzzle called life channeling vibes for the right timeframe
Hay all right little late to the party but this great way to this is awesome music for the soul and spirits and trying something new and will let you know how this was after this here we go star seeds
Aloke Dutta was his tabla instructor and he did tour with them, but I don't think it was this tour. Its either him or Danny using his electric Mandala drums.
@Donovan Redd That’s because humans didn’t make this....Tool made this; they’ve discovered their own individual divinity. And have left us a roadmap to discover our own. The music is the map, the lyrics are the directions.
@@ffgggkok first I’d like to mention there may have been mood/perception altering chemicals at play when that statement was written. MAY HAVE been, I can neither confirm nor deny. Second, don’t forget Hooker with a Penis. And finally, I do hope you know I was being completely facetious; I was attempting to convey a thick tone of “Tool Fanboy”. Lololol. I DO absolutely love Tool, love them enough to know that Maynard would probably pul some BJJ move on me and cut off the circulation to my brain if I said something like that in his presence. Hey! Merry Christmas!
@@robertrolfingsmeyer4743 so... you don’t think they really are trying to share what they’ve learned about themselves, the universe and what not? Is Maynard not communicating his road along the path of self realization?
First time I saw Tool was 97. I couldn’t keep my eyes off of Maynard. Don’t get me wrong but he was dressed as a prostitute. He also was front and center stage the whole time.

The beat Danny created for Reflection is so good. One of the greatest things I've ever heard. It has layers. It's playful and tribal. It's incredible.
he kept playing it all over the 90s, glad it was used in a good song
Something about that melancholy riff at the end of Reflection...gets me everytime..
Same, dude. That and the melancholy final riff at the end of 10000 Days always get me.
it's so profound. Get's to me as well. Finally someone said it. :-)
lol
very reflective is best way to describe it, really feels like you finished a journey
Awesome way to spend 4 minutes
Wish I could see this live again just one more time.
dr.heels33 I just wish I could see this live!

@@davestoldal2051 same here. Saw D/R/T live in September 02. I was 21 years old and a little too drunk to appreciate what I was witnessing.
Maynard’s voice is beautiful in this

Love the disposition riff during reflection @ 13:40
11:13 Favourite section of Reflection. So beautiful.
the audio quality is through the roof, thanks!
Orestes Triskaideka agreed. What I wouldn't give for more live recordings of this quality. Do you happen to know of any?
Decided to draw while listening to this and it was hypnotic, made me put my pencil down a few times, theres no band like Tool
Just what I needed to get lost in this amazing piece
I just get lost in this piece -PEACE-.

Discovered this at the tail end of a mushroom trip. I only wish I had a hell of a lot more.

Just insane! Is there anything that approaches this ballad? Is there a drummer who ever dominated like this? A percussion case study. Epic!

No actual band footage? These 3 selections deserve more then a tiring , repetitive, psychedelic spiral image.
The delay drives me crazy, sorry. The visuals have to line up with the music perfectly.
