    Love this!! Another tip for achieving a more natural edge: After printing, instead of cutting out your design with scissors, dampen a small paintbrush with water and "paint" the water where you would cut. Then gently tear along those water lines. It will leave a ragged, thinned out edge.

    Question:
    Do you print in color with your laser printer?.
    I least see black and white projects, I'm wondering if the colors are going to come out fine or do they smear?.
    I only have inkjet, that's why I ask.

    • @OurUpcycledLife
      @OurUpcycledLife  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      My LaserJet printer only prints with black ink. That’s what I used for this project but I have an inkjet printer that prints in colour and as long as you seal it with some hairspray, it should be OK to not smear for you when you’re using it for decoupaging ❤️ Thanks for watching. Hope it was helpful.

    Is it just me that sees wooden jars when looking at the baseboard pieces. If the decorative edge of the wood was painted silver it would look like the old lids on canning jars.

    • @OurUpcycledLife

      Yes, I have but it’s a bit too thick and doesn’t blend in that. Well, I find a napkin works the best.

    Loved this! So hard to find napkins locally and even a bit difficult to find online. Now to find some delicate floral patterns to buy digitally.
    Are you sure the hairspray trick will allow me to use the water technique without colours bleeding? If I were to use ModPodge instead of Poly Acrylic spray, should I wait for the napkin to dry completely (after applying with plastic sheet onto ModPodge)? Please don't rush to answer, I know how busy you are. I won't be doing the project in mind immediately.

    • @OurUpcycledLife
      @OurUpcycledLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it’s one of those projects that you just have to experiment with and see what will work for you you will definitely need to seal that napkin if you’re using an inkjet printer with either hairspray or a poly acrylic spray before you deposit or it will run on you

    • @OurUpcycledLife
      @OurUpcycledLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you can also use an inkjet. Just make sure you’re selling it with a little bit of hairspray before you introduced the decoupage, or the ink may run.

    What is the easiest way to get these napkins apart? I’m really having a hard time with that lol and also, if I do not have two sided tape, what else can I use to attach the napkin to the printer paper? Thank you.

    • @OurUpcycledLife
      @OurUpcycledLife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can put a little bit of glue stick on the ends of my two fingers president of the napkin. When you pull your fingers away, it will help separate that’s a little tip.
