This is exactly what happened to me 6 months ago. I am still having a lot of discomfort on the inside ankle spot, had x rays done and it was confirmed that I tore the ligaments in that area very badly. Doc recommended wearing an ankle brace, adding another year for recovery. Glad I am able to move around though 😌 nothing worse than not being able to walk around and do what you need to do. Wishing you all a speedy recovery.

Did they not put in the long screw that went through both bones? Mine happened 7 months ago, I completely tore the ligaments on both sides of my ankle and I was walking on it (painfully) after 2 weeks with an ankle brace. I have that long screw tho. You're break could be way worse tho.

What’s funny is that back in March I had to run down the stairs, and I broke my ankle. This helps me understand more of how it happened. I had a stable fracture luckily since I had souble damage done directly in my growth plate. My foot went inward, and I landed on my ankle. It sent a shock up my body, and I could hear the loud crunch in my brain. I coulda sworn I saw inverted colors for a sec😅

I broke my tibia and tore the ligaments attaching my foot. They put a plate on my tibia and reattached the ligaments. Also a very long screw going through my entire ankle attaching the bones...but they took that out after like 5 months...plate's still there though. Prepare to take painkillers for like three months to even jog. Even like 3 years later you get 60 of those painkillers a year if you plan on doing anything like running...hiking...climbing...it is not ideal if you like the outdoors at all. Last month I went on a 6 mile hike...which used to be a breeze...I needed freaking ice and a Percocet by the time I reached the freaking cabin. 95% of the time you're fine! But expect some serious pain if you stress that ankle out too much....or if you twist it in the middle of the damn hike and you have to walk on that shit for 2 more miles because it's further going back then it is to keep going.

In 2008 I feel 17 feet into a basement stairs all impact on left foot,, fixtured tipula , compound fracture fibula and crushed my ankle socket,, had 9 inches of steel put in and wore a exterior fixsater for 4 months, 6 days in hospital was the worst break they had ever seen ,, home for 11 days before going to a specialist sports sergeant to do best he could. It's never been right since a ankle break is the worst bone to break.
