2:03 - The original Fred and Barney (Alan Reed and Mel Blanc) for Flintstones vitamins. 3:03 - Tom Bosley does the voiceover on that Shasta cola ad. 4:03 - Jane Withers as Josephine the plumber for Comet cleanser. 5:36 - Ozzie Nelson for Kodak. 6:36 - Thurl Ravenscroft as Tony the Tiger for Kellogg's Frosted Flakes. 7:36 - Mike Farrell (BJ from M*A*S*H) as the upside-down pitchman for Butternut coffee. 8:09 - Tony Dow from Leave It to Beaver in an Old Milwaukee beer commercial. 9:07 - Iron Eyes Cody in the famous anti-pollution PSA as the crying...indigenous man (yeah, that works), with William Conrad as voiceover. 15:11 - Fran Brill as the wife in the Palmolive gold soap ad. 17:51 - That's probably Joe Silver as the voice of the hound dog in the Lysol commercial. 18:21 - Jan Miner in the role that made her famous, as Madge the manicurist. 23:21 - Arthur Godfrey for Colgate toothpaste. (Note: these aren't just 1960s commercials. The Ozzie Nelson Kodak spot is likely from the late '50s, and a few of them, like the crying Indian PSA, are from the '70s.)
Excellent variety of the commercials...wonderfully put together!! Many of these were so much a part of my growing up...but when Ronald Reagan deregulated the airlines, just for a start, and made the Middle Class shrink to nothing...much of American manufacturing went to other countries. My parents eventually bought a color TV...a beautiful picture and craftsman made...a Zenith, and now it's been years and years since they went out of business.
The elderly Swedish couple in the Butter-Nut Coffee spot is likely a play on Mrs. Olson of Folger's Coffee fame.
