Hey Ten Hun, I know it's been a while since you've posted a video of this project. I know you were already feeling kind of anxious and unmotivated. I just wanted to give you encouragement. I know that large projects can be crazy and hard to find time to get back to, but you've got this, even if you have to work one square inch at a time. I'm excited to see the finished project, even if it takes you 3 years.
It drives me nuts seeing all these cryptic scenes in the video and not knowing what they mean lol can't wait to see the big reveal!

Most of my pieces take at least 30 days to complete. Especially my murals. I might be slow or I might just need to take the right amount of time to finish a work of art but, it's nice to see an artist compliment the ones that have the patience to paint the same thing every day for a month or more straight. That's where the art gods exist. The moment it's finished will be one of your greatest feelings of accomplishment you've ever felt before.
If you want coverage in your yellow try Nova Color paint. They are a company out of California,they make paint specifically for mural artist. They're highly pigmented and they are not over priced. I promise you will not be disappointed. And I have looked back on murals I painted outdoors and they are still vibrant 15 years later. And their yellows are so much better than any brand I have ever bought before.
I hope that once you have finished and the winner has figured this all out that you will have a series just to explain all the hidden secrets within the painting. PLEASE!!!!!
A tip regarding more transparent colors like yellow. Put a layer of white paint down where you intend the yellow to go. It'll help the yellow (or whichever other color) be more opaque and bright. You'll never have to dread working in so many layers again. It's a game changer. Painting looks awesome, keep it up!

This is looking absolutely incredible, Peter. I hope you're able to take heart--you have an incredible style rooted in fine detail, which will naturally be overwhelming the larger the project. I once had a painting take 2 years of daily work, and it can be so demoralizing sometimes. It will be SOOOOO worth it in the end though, so hang in there!!!

I crochet and sometimes when I’m working on a big project like a blanket or a sweater I get very unmotivated because of it’s size. Even if it took me 2 years or so I still finished a project that I was very proud of!! Just keep it pushin Ten!! It’s lookin DOPE!👍

TenHundred! Around 35 years ago there was book called "The Ultimate Alphabet" The guy who did this make 'I think they were, 8ft x 4ft canvas, and paint each one with the of the alphabet with only the objects on canvas starting that letter. All 26 letters and painted himself in it! His name is Mike Wilks
You should look into getting a drafting table, they're quite large with plenty of real estate and adjustable for whatever angle you need!

I have in my paint collection a yellow that makes a wonderful base for yellow things. Its not Golden, your precious. Manufacturer W.N. Not sure if the color is still available with the old mixture - cadmium yellow light. You have to be very careful with it due to toxicity.
With transparent colors, first mix them with white, that's the base, then apply the transparent color over and there you have it, there's no need for too many layers
woaaah just got this vid recommended by youtube and maaaaan! This sounds like such a big, ambitious and AMAZING idea! And putting all the details and storytelling in this painting, just like Davinci did, is really cool :D I don't work on the same scale as you, but I do know the feeling of putting a lot of thought into your pre-planning and sometimes get tired working in all the thought-out details that you need to put it down for a bit. But just keep adding to it once in a while is the best way to still enjoy the proces and work towards the end product! So wishing you all the best of luck and sending you all the positive energy to keep going! Your sketch looked so cool, so I'm sure this end result will become stunning as well!
Please get a Mahl Stick, it's going to make your life so much easier with this painting. The floating hand is a killer.
