I’d love this as a series! repainting all kinds of famous paintings in your style, and going into all the lore, history and conspiracies about the originals. LOVED this 🔥loved this.
I second this!!
I'm italian and I am a restorer of paintings in churches and old buildings, I love this style of videos with some art history and, as always, a lot of creativity!
(Ps Can't wait to have the vivid kingdoms on hands!)
I really liked learning all about this piece; all the history and conspiracy theories. I'd be down to see more of this content. As for ideas, Nerdforge, Jazza, and Evan and Katelyn have all experimented with UV paint, so maybe you could paint some secrets with uv paint within the painting that you could only see under certain light.
So agree with your concept. There are so many myths of all the symbols and there meanings, and portraying the figures of saving the earth in today's rolls would be global warming instead of religion, so Jesus could be represented by David Attenborough, the spillage of salt into a miniature tip/dumpster for example...there's food for thought. 😉🤔
Yes more content like this! Giving history, theories, and your insight on works of art
"The Gospel of Mary Magdalene", interpreted by a real Gnostic. th-cam.com/video/FdtIH34XNjA/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=AWikkedMoon
phew.. for a minute I thought you were suggesting "nerdforge" paint with him! I do however like the UV idea!
@@popparock6506 Why would that be so terrible? Nerdforge rock
Amazing idea. Rather than TH-camrs, it might be cool to change all the characters to 12 of the most influential artists of all time e.g. Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Dali, Picasso, etc. Then make Da Vinci the central “Jesus” figure as proper homage to him. Picasso could even slot into the “Judas” spot as he was once suspected of stealing the Mona Lisa.
You have found the perfect path between being informative and being entertaining and I fully commend you on that. Fantastic video!
I would say just to make sure you include the sacred geometry that is embedded in this amazing painting... the golden ratio, dodecahedron, etc. There is a lot of amazingness when it comes to this and is definitely worthy of some research!
QR Code, Spiral (Dynamics), U (Theory)... infinty symbol
great idea
y e s p l e a s e
I FREAKING LOVE this whole idea, although I don’t care for the idea of using TH-camrs instead of disciples. I would like to suggest doing what DaVinci did and humanizing these bigger than life religious figures. What would they look like *now* in modern times? This was a bit of a rag tag group following Jesus after all and your grungy street aesthetic is kind of perfect for modernizing the whole scene. The social media influencer following Jesus writing all this shiz down, what I can only assume is the origin of the finger guns with that pointing thing going on, animal hoods to represent their roles in the story… and sliding in the rick roll would be the beautiful glorious icing on a delicious cake.
My understanding is the big J-dawg supported kindness to the poor and it would be pretty dope to see that portrayed in a modern scene. These weren’t old affluent rich white dudes following Jesus around, they were young upstarts preaching a change to the current system. That’s a message I think really resonates right now.
Of the comments & ideas I've read so far, your last statement / suggestion seems to honor both the biblical story & the modern day potential. Very deep beautiful thinking.
Oooo i like this!
I actually really like this concept. Modernizes the piece while still honoring the original
(Thanks, y’all are gonna make me blush!)
what you’re saying is waaay better than the TH-camr idea.
I am an art teacher at a junior high, have talked specifically to my students about the brilliance of Leonardo Da Vinci and had the privilege to take a trip across Italy to see a lot of his work first hand. I love your break down on this piece. The knowledge with your brand of humor and flare was awesome. I would love to see more of these. I also noticed a dope Watcher figure in your background. 😁👊 Glad you liked it. It was fun to sculpt
This has gotta be one of my favorite videos now. Soooo interesting and he's such an incredibly engaging storyteller. It was really cool to learn about this piece that has become iconic, but that I was ignorant about until now. Killer video as always :) Love the creativity and the effort to keep exploring and pushing the boundaries of content.
“Tempura” (referred to at 7:37) is a Japanese dish usually consisting of seafood or vegetables that have been battered and deep fried, so Leonardo was, instead, probably using something called “Tempera” (also known as egg tempera) which is the fast-drying painting medium made up of coloured pigments mixed with a water-soluble binder medium, usually egg yolk.😋. I like the thought of him using deep fried veggies in his painting, though. I love you calling Leonardo DaVinci a badass for his threat against that annoying Prior. He totally was the coolest guy around at the time! Excellent video!
Was going to comment this as but, I really liked and laughed at the idea of old Leo using fried food to paint this masterpiece lol.
Love art history by Ten Hun!!! Make more of these art breakdowns.
Could be a whole series!
I really enjoyed this deep dive, your storytelling is simply fantastic! Half an hour has never gone by so quick 😅
Thanks so much
I just read this and was like “there is no way this was half an hour!” Then I looked at the time counter. 🤯 😳 Such a great video!
Brilliant Video dude! 🍞
Love the video. Please don’t do TH-camrs. The whole trend of content creators making art of each other is starting to get old. Use your characters. Love the idea of Jesus being “art” and Judas being whatever stops artists… a light and dark kinda thing.
I didn't see your comment until I was after I posted my comment and I said basically the same thing just use your characters.
Judging by the comments, the majority of people (myself included) dislike the idea of using TH-camrs as the disciples. As for the concept and overall design of the piece, I saw embrace the chaos of the conspiracy theories! I think you should 100% make the hands and food items a piece of music. I think you should also embrace your own conspiracy theory about this piece and maybe have the scene take place on the moon. It could be super subtle, just peeking out from the windows/doorway in the back.
I love the idea of this being set on the moon
I would like you to go full circle and paint "The Last Supper" as traditional painters who inspired and impacted the art we have today. With the master himself, Leonardo depicted as Jesus!
One of the common images of jesus that we see painted by DaVinci was an image of the son of the 3rd Pope.
I kinda dig this idea. Could even do a whole series from it, if Ten Hun goes in depth with every painter like he has in this video. Neat!
The approach you took on this was quality. Personally I like the idea of your own characters as they represent you and your style. You could depict it as a ten hundred evolving through the years, a certain character from a certain piece speaking with the others, possibly having Judas being one of you if you had doubt at some point. Either way, the series will be amazing and looking forward to next episode.
I was a little worried about putting this painting on the same level as dogs playing cards but you handled it with respect, both to Leonardo and to those of us who care about Jesus. I look forward to seeing how this 10hun masterpiece turns out.
I was one of the ones (of many, I am sure) that asked you to commission this piece a while back. I always envisioned you just painting each figure in your style and that is how I believe you should approach this project. Each character should be painted as if you were commissioned to paint this originally, straight up.
just what I was thinking as well, youtubers' portraits just sound a bit meh and out of character
That’s some quality content right there 👌 For the disciples you could pull patreon member names out of a hat 😆 I also like the 12 different self portraits…. But also, aren’t there 12 face cards in a deck? 😜
Leonardo Da vinci is such an interesting person. I’ve seen many documentaries on him but ten hun made the story so much fun. Loved this deep dive.
as far as the notes for the song, you have to have the gesso song. Goes well with your theme and also with how the original was painted, by gessoig the wall and painting straight over it
I really like this format. Really interesting dive into art history. As for the youtuber idea, even tho I kinda like it, I think is better to go in another direction (having to put a fellow creator in the judas position would end in an headache). It could be animal versions of what each person of the painting represents, Jesus in lion form would be epic
Jazza as Jesus, ZHC as Judas. Ez gg. ;P
Although it would look really cool, I don't think Jesus should be a lion.. I guess you chose this because of the king status a lion seem to have in popular beliefs but Jesus was never meant to be a king you know. Throughout history, and politically speaking, kings have always been crushing the people. That's like their whole things. Kings cannot exist if everyone's equal you know, and Jesus is out there talking about how everyone's equal. Also in wildlife lions also have this kind of hierarchy and Jesus made sure there was not this kind of things, everyone should feel equal around him. Lastly, wildlife lions eat, then the kids and the lionnesses, and then the sick and weak would have whatever is left. Jesus is not that kind of guy, he helps and give special treatment to the sick, weaks and 'society burdens' because, well that's the whole message he's trying to give. Everyone should be equal and if they are not because of an illness or something, let's help them so they can elevate (not trying to be mean by this quite long comment, just tryna educate politely :) )
@@luciechedas2306 Meerkat for Jesus!
@@luciechedas2306 thanks for that point of view, quite interesting. But I was referring to the fact that in the bible comes the term Lion of Judah, as a symbol to Jesus, for Christians. :)
My dawg, I think you should interpret the disciples the way you interpret their history. Example Peter as a fisherman, your own self portrait character as Jude and so on. Keep killing it, get this shit!👊🏾
Personally you’re right off the end of the vivid kingdoms project. I, for one, have not had enough of it. There are 4 suits and three face cards (king queen and jack). That would make 12 disciples. The painting already has them in groups of three so it would fit with the composition. You could connect all of the kingdoms and Jesus’s figure could be the ruler of the four kingdoms. This could be a way to dive deeper into the lore of your own work, and then build off of it. Idk, sort of gives me some game of thrones type vibes that could be interesting. #theramblingsofafan
“every single one of them was dead ass asleep” made me laugh out loud. Cool video, I like the shake up! Plus my dogs name is da Vinci so I’m biased a bit
Loved the video bro! Very cool idea🔥... I’ll have to steal it sometime in the future 😉😂
Thank you my dude!
The only time it's mentioned that John is "the favorite" is by John himself. Jesus did not and does not have favorites. It was John just proclaiming and accepting just how much Jesus loves him, which is in turn, exactly how much Jesus loves us all. Excited for this project and to see your take on this work of art
This video literally changed my life. The hypothesis about using music notation in artwork made me think twice about quitting drawing cold turkey. Keep up the great work Ten!
I’m Christian and know these stories, I think it’s cool how much research you did into this
Absolutely loved this video! Very cool hearing your research into this piece. I would definitely love to see more like this!
Ten Hun dropping Knowledge. You should do it as a triptych , playing to the trinity
Couple suggestions:
-A cool concept might be "How would DaVinci paint this if he were alive today?" When he painted the original, Christianity was prevalent in Italy. But what do people worship today? Religion is still prevalent today but people's actions would tell an outsider that society values other things more. (Money, politics, fame, ego) Ironically, things the Bible would call sin. So, modern take could be placing one of these elements in the center with depictions of who worships that as disciples. Maybe a little too off from your normal style but that might be how DaVinci would tell that story today.
-Another thing I've heard from historians is that Jesus is usually depicted as Caucasian but was most likely not. This could work well with your style since your characters usually have non-human colored skin. Maybe even match the color of the disciples skin to their character traits.
So cool, this!
the first thing that came to my head when you asked "who would be Jesus?" is: DaVinci should be Jesus... if the disciples are pop artists, then what about the most pop artist of all time?.. also kinda like paying homage to the OG and his art.
Love this idea a lot
Great idea I would go one step further DaVinci but Ten Hun style
I like this idea. It should be artists. Famous artist..
@@Kaalokalawaia from all different times too! Like Da Vinci, Van Gogh, Picasso, Warhol etc
"The Gospel of Mary Magdalene", interpreted by a real Gnostic. th-cam.com/video/FdtIH34XNjA/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=AWikkedMoon
What a great idea! One way one can look at the Last Supper is, that all of the disciples and Christ represent aspects of ourselves. In a way on one hand we carry the divine within us and on the other hand the traitor as well. And in between those polarities we also carry the character traits that are symbolised by the reaction of all the other disciples. Hence, you could also use just one character representing all figures.
I love Ten hundred so much man.
Thank you for everything you do, this content was very educational and entertaining.
Loved it!
Definitely the best Art History lesson I've ever had. Thanks.
Maybe you could do something interesting with the bit of history about the door way at the bottom? Your woodworking friend could make a custom frame with a door revealing some type of secret? I’m just spitballing. Cool video! Love the deep dive on the painting.
open the door to see the feet?

"The Gospel of Mary Magdalene", interpreted by a real Gnostic. th-cam.com/video/FdtIH34XNjA/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=AWikkedMoon
I am so freaking excited for this idea -- please remake other classic paintings after this one! Can't wait for part 2
Great video! Maybe you could paint the „apostle“ with famous artists in your style. Like Rembrandt, van Gogh, Picasso, Warhol and of course the man Leonardo. In the war you can use some of their known typical art for the food on the table and so, like Warhol‘s tin can, van Gogh‘s sunflowers and so on. Would be a freaking awesome piece of art in the end with all the references.
As an italian, I could really see the effort you put into pronouncing the words right! Thank you for the respect, Peter!! ☺️
I love these type of videos! I think that learning alongside someone who is researching for a project is so much more fun than being taught haha
Great idea for new vids “Art history ,The TenHundred way “ All those artists probably had some of the same issues artists have today . Am I right in thinking most never had the biggest fame in their lifetime and only were really appreciated long after they died ?
An idea for your painting could include how people are focused on their phones in one section or someone more interested in the famous person not the middle character. It has to have that person who is flexing with all the gold and material things and could include the different groups of food people today (like the vegans one end moving to the end with full on junk food ) . Overall because it’s made of sections of three people you could have many ideas for the different groups while making sure it’s still the last supper .
"Chungassed up the wall". Love it, gonna use that for my paintings too. Great vid, loved the background on the Last Supper
Since this whole thing is an ode to DaVinci, how about making him Jesus in your version of this awesome art piece?
100%
My absolute favourite video of yours! I feel like Georgie needs to be included in this piece!!
Loved this art history lesson in this episode! Such a great idea - I'd love this to be a series! I think rather than youtubers it would be great to create something timeless. What can you leave on a painting that will tell the future about us in this century?
I really enjoyed the collaboration with the card deck, so I'm excited about this idea. Looking forward to see how it goes!
Jude is TenHun. Gotta happen. No other recognizable figures (TH-camrs) should be included. Just characters from the TenHun universe.
It would make more sense to self-insert where davinci did, imo. I don’t care for including other TH-camrs though, I think it would be more impacting using the modern aesthetic and original characters.
Art History is my JAM. As an eternal art student, I can never get enough. I'd love to see more content like this.
Oil paint and tempura🍤? Maybe oil paint and tempera might have worked better😉 . 7:34 Or maybe there was a DaVinci Tempura shop nearby? Cannot wait to see this done in your style!!
OMG man it feels like your life is going so well
with your family and home, the kickstarter project and now this video. No matter how much work it was I genuinely love this video idea :D
what if they are "youtubers" in your animal hoodies (for their personalities) but instead of making them obvious you make it a more decoded/hidden subtle rendition like Leo would? then you have a video for after where you can reveal who's who. but just make Judas a guy in a devil hoodie or something.
Can totally see thisas the way to go. It will be epic!
Yessss!!
I love this suggestion
Nice suggestion! Judas could be the algorithm haha!
"The Gospel of Mary Magdalene", interpreted by a real Gnostic. th-cam.com/video/FdtIH34XNjA/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=AWikkedMoon
I LOVE THIS FORMAT!!!!!!! Pls keep making videos like this. Art history is so important!
How about using all the Jack, Queen, King characters from the Vivid Kingdoms Cards? Jesus could be a completely new character, perhaps "The King" piece for a future chess set? 🤫
Yo Ten Hun! As an art historian, I’ve studied the last supper A LOT through uni, read a ton about it, and even had a teacher specialised on Leonardo/Michelangelo. I can’t even begin to tell you how great you tell the stories of both the piece and Leonardo. I remember being captivated in school about it, and I’m so glad you’ve decided to tackle such a masterpiece. I’m sure you have seen many representations of the piece, my favourite thing back then was to compare Leonardo’s piece to other artists at the time - Crivelli, Titian, Giotto, Castagno, Ghirlandaio… in some of them, Judas is sitting on the other side of the table to really differentiate him from the rest of the group. And also you’ve got recurring decoration patterns between pieces, it’s just an endless discussion but it’s passionating!
Also loved the little conspiracy theory lol!
Can’t wait for the next vid, and thanks for the awesome content :)
Hey Ten Hun! Awesome video. I loved the deep dive in art history and all the anecdotes. :) For your interpretation of the Last Supper, please just don't paint 12 white guys. We need more representations! Cheers
Seconding this! Definitely need more representation, Jesus has been white washed for centuries and that's not okay
This video and idea is awesome.
Loved walking through the history of a painting with you and then the idea of you redoing in your style.
Can't wait to see what comes next and can already tell I would definitely be up for you doing this same thing on other paintings!
You just keep changing it up and rocking it!!!!
I am super excited for this project! I like the idea of using other TH-camrs or your patreons as inspiration for some of the characters. Can't wait to see what you come up with.
Commmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmpletely and thoroughly enjoyed this content. I hope you do more of these.
Great video! Loved learning something new and being entertained. I think Jesus and the disciples should be your characters! Maybe pick a theme like Futuristic or Apocalyptic. Your characters and stories are extremely creative just like the Christian characters and story. And the Ten Hun characters are way more visually appealing. Also, for the secret song I think you should use one of your own beats. The music is such a big part of your videos you gotta use yours! All in my humble opinion. Whatever you make will be GAS
I absolutely love everything about this video. You did an amazing job telling it Ten Hundred style🔥🔥🔥
what if you did it but included different cultures 'Gods' . Keeping Jesus at the center so It circles back to the last supper. But include Norse, Aztec, Chinese, Egyptian, Pacifica etc..
idk. I think thatd be cool, and then you can learn a little more about older stories too?
Loved the deep dive. Would love to see more of these kinds of videos where you recreate a painting after researching the history of the original. Can't wait to see your next videos in the series! ❤❤👌
“Never gonna give you up” :)!, that is literally Jesus’s message to me over and over for the past 40 years❤️❤️❤️Awesome!
Your videos only get better! This was just fun to watch cannot wait to see this project in your style!!
So for the disciples, I think it might be cool if they were all self portraits. Like each one could be a different aspect or personality trait of yourself. I think it would be a cool call to the original like DaVinci using himself as a model for one of the disciples.
This is an absolutely amazing idea and your research, storytelling and charisma just adds to it. I would love to see this become a series as you do the same with other famous art pieces!
If I had you as my art history teacher, damn I would've learned hell a lot more!
I love this idea. You could go in so many directions, Olympian gods, zodiac signs, 12 days of Christmas. Or famous artist through out history. I can't wait to see what you do.
This is like drunk history but way more family friendly, we're here for it💙.
Your information was very interesting and love how you told it in your own humorous style. Cannot wait to see your painting!! 👍
Idea for the piece. Put Leonardo da Vinci as the centre figure. Yourself and other artists you admire as the 12 apostles. Judas can be the ruined Jesus from The Ecce Homo that someone botched the restoration on
This video is so awesome! I'm so stoked to see what you paint. Thanks for doing a deep dive, it was super interesting. One idea is that every disciple could represent a month of the year, either in how they're dressed or some character from a holiday of that month. Anyway you make it will be awesome!
I don't think that you should use real people for your adaptation - you've spent a whole video talking about the symbology of these people (and the horrible ways they died). Keep it classy by not casting any of your friends or patrons as "guy who got flayed", have them be characters who represent the ideas
This is an incredible idea. I studied this painting when I did my art degree and I also studied him separately in my degree so this is going to be so exciting. Cannot wait. Xx
Not sure what motivated this video but I love you telling stories about art. I knew nothin about this piece and you did an amazing job sharing it. Would love to see more.
This was awesome! Finally an art history video that was fun to watch! Would absolutely love a series with this content 🤩
This was the best most educational, entertaining, memorable art history lesson/class I have ever seen/attended. You should make a series of art history videos.
I had the opportunity to visit this place in Milan. It is a true "bucket list for artists". At the moment the amount of care for this specific art piece is incredible. I hope they can preserve it for many years to come, and I hope that the new generation appreciates this special piece of history. What you have uncovered of this historic art piece was not covered in our tour guide. Of course they give a shortened version of the facts but what you have uncovered is outstanding. Thank You! and I can't wait to see what you come up with. Love your work!!! Your Houston, TX art fan!
Amazing video! Love the deep dive in to the history/conspiracies of the painting and I thinks it's dope that you're doing research before your recreation. Looking forward to the next part (or part's?).
Dude...Bobby Duke as Jesus!! Epic.
Love the ideas of Nerforge Jazza etc...but don't for get your boy Slew!!Can't wait to see this one!!💜💜💜
Im a huge fan and this series might be my favorite project you've ever done! Recreating classics with a deep dive analysis of the original would be an amazing staple of your content. Do starry night!
Love this kind of educational video with your humor and the way you involve us in your art projects!
I loved this video so much. I can't wait for part 2! I've always wanted to know the history of this painting. Like this whole video was on par of everything I was wondering. Legit. Thanks!
This might just be my new favorite ongoing series!
Suggestion: Humans of peace and love
Depict the people throughout history that have changed the course of humanity into a drasticly more peaceful and loving world!
Obsessed ! I’m so excited to watch the series and love that you ask the viewers for their input… I was actually hoping you would do something similar to the vivid kingdom series with doing polls and imputing everyone’s suggestions.
My input for this series would to make it more modern to our day of life now… the last supper being fast food like pizza slices, burgers etc… also you could do Peter to be holding a phone or a paint brush (you)… the betrayal of Judas instantly makes me lean towards a snake so have a snake accessory. Clothing wearing your merch and trainers etc, Lastly the scenery in the background make it as a tv screen on standby.
Hope you see this and my ideas help towards your design. Can’t wait to watch the progress with this project love your style and video.
Team Ten Hun !!!
Love this style of video with all the history mixed in! Great work Ten hun!!
Art History was one of my favorite subjects in college and this video took me right back. Thanks for that. This was really cool.
I used to read up and watch a lot about Leonardo. I loved hearing an artists view and information and your delivery style feels authentic to you while still delivering the goods 👏
I'm a new follower, fellow artist and I've been binging your content. I love your OC's(original characters), and like seeing YOUR creations. What about your interpretations of various emotions? Moods etc. That way we get plenty of Ten Hundred in this? I was going to say musical idols then realized that I come here to watch you create. Your aesthetic.
The theories about The Last Supper are so interesting, especially the musical one! Thank you for educating us about this painting :)
LOVED THIS VIDEO! Would like to see more history and your style on old paintings!!
looking forward to more rabbit holes! this was fun and informative, I cannot wait for this project. props on the video edit, absolutely killed it!
Thank you for taking the time to research this piece. It was a super respectful introduction this the project ✌️
Yes! The art history theme is cool. Looking forward to the finished piece.
I really love how you broke this history down. I appreciate the time you put into creating this content. From the story to the videography amazing!
I'm REALLY enjoying your new ventures of researching and then creating, it fills both my history nerd and artsy needs!

I enjoyed this video! I knew about the content of the painting but somehow never thought about/learned about the process of painting it! Very cool story!!
Dude i would have loved to have had you as my art history teacher. There's so much i didn't know about the Renaissance era of paintings. The time and dedication Leo took to do the last supper is extraordinary for his time and the limitations of paint supplies back then. I can't imagine having to paint such intricate details upside down on a ceiling. He was a badass of painters and an og legend. Something every artist now strives for thier work to be recognized and appreciated long after thier gone.
I wanted to go back and watch your videos on creating your painting since seeing you do the Livestream puzzle. I think its awesome and i really love your new school style
The final Part showed on my feed today. One minute in, I stopped to find Part 1. Your storytelling is awesome and entertaining! New sub and looking forward to your videos!
I’m a big fan of this style of content. As a Christian and someone who has spent years of my life studying these biblical figures I was impressed with how much research he did into each of the disciples. I expected this video to be about the history of the painting but the fact that he went into the history of the source material was really cool to me. I felt like he did a good job being respectful of religious history even if he doesn’t subscribe to a specific faith. Ten Hundred you very quickly became my favorite modern artist over the past few months and I appreciate what you’re doing. I can’t wait to see more content like this. Much love👍🏼
