Very convincing fake GHD's

Well this is my third pair of fakes in the last 2 weeks from ebay.
I have to say the seller probably isn't to blame on this one as they are pretty convincing.
Fortunately a full refund has been offered as soon as I contacted the seller.
I only popped the hinge caps off and then left feedback, next time I will have to investigate further, the mains cable should have sounded alarm bells but I was rushing as usual. The plastic case has sharper edges than the genuine GHD's as well.

Nice one...Great Video just bought a MK 4 pair with blank plastic hinge plates but it seems to pass the initial checks...they are for a friend...i wouldnt buy this sort of item online. Im not sure if they are fakes but we will keep looking into it...I cant strip them down at the moment because they are for a friend

Hi is it normal for a Ghd gold to get veryy hot I just . Bought online and checked the screws and cord etc it seems to check out no sharp edges and the screws look identical to the ones I've seen on your videos it does get very hot quickly within 10 seconds it is a 2011 model so I guess it's fairly old I'm wondering if maybe it's broken we're breaking or if this is normal?

No, that doesn't sound normal, full temperature should be achieved in 20 to 30 seconds with a bleep to confirm the full temperature has been reached and the LED will be on constantly at that point.I regularly repair GHD's of 15 years old........

Also it does have two holes on the cord next to eachother is that normal

The seller has dealt with the problem perfectly and has refunded my money already.
I have already posted them back.
They were purchased from a charity shop, so be warned, you never know what you are buying unless you are very careful.

Hello good, watch my plate I give light and turns and a constant beep and the light will start to Flash and does not heat anything. Now if I warm up a little ceramic with hands or divider works well, creaks a bit a ceramic. As this very cold makes it beep hot works perfectly. I hope that you can solve it, a greeting and thanks!

Change the element with thermistor.
