a bit of a bookshelf tour - concentrating on some favourite book series. Little House, Mary Poppins, Star Trek, Hitchhikers, Guy N Smith, the Belgariad and Narnia...
I'm amazed at your memory, remembering the books you've read and what they were all about. I've read quite a few myself and remember when I've read them, but couldn't give you any context about them 😄 My late husband, Dean was a fan of Eddings and had amassed a large collection of his books. I've never really read them myself despite liking the genre 😊 School book clubs. Those were the days.
Thanks Paul, really enjoyed that 😊 A few of those book covers I recall from my own childhood in the 70's (I probably borrowed them from our local mobile library!).
Lovely seeing Bernard Socks all smoochy and attentive . I love tours of bookshelves. I am one of these people who enhance zoom in to see what people have . Finished Panic Hands and that has whetted my appetite for more of Jonathan Carroll. If the novels are as good as the short stories , I'm in . Highland River is now my bus book and I am loving it . I will negotiate with my local library tomorrow to ensure they have a copy of your new one soon. My husband (deceased) wrote a song called ; Not the Little House on the Prairie . He was an avid reader too ; who had a bookshop when I met him . He gave it up and moved to Scotland . Hope you read us articles on your new book and press releases etc . Mary Poppins I saw first at the cinema ; I reacted to the cinema like it was a theatre ; thinking all the people were in a magic room round the back ; laughing and floating to the ceiling etc . I refused to leave thinking it was all real and left with incredibly large tears running down my face . I really haven't changed that much about what I believe in. There are infinite possibilities still.
Wonderful review of your series. I still have my Narnia books from my youth. I will always maintain that TLTW&TW is the first book in the series. :). Curious what that note on your bathroom door says? :)
Thanks Paul. Like you, I still have all my Grange Hills but sadly have let the Hitchhikers (same covers as yours) go...I really shouldn't ever try to downsize...always a mistake!
If you enjoy audio books, I highly recommend the audio versions of A Series of Unfortunate Events. Most are read by Tim Curry (the couple he doesn't read are done by Snicket), and each features an original song based on the book by the Gothic Archies (one of the many projects by Stephin Merritt/the Magnetic Fields).
Nice that Bernard Socks showed himself!

*glances at shelf across room for inspiration* "The Memoirs of Lady Trent" by Marie Brennan was a series I definitely enjoyed all the way through.
Wow! £2.99 for a paperback book. Those were the days 😄
they certainly were!
I remember as a boy saving up for the Target DW novelisations in the late 70s. They were 60 or 65p I think.
Hello cat socks

I love them! Curry reads them with such huge relish
