That's the difference between mainstream pop and rock / metal channels. One mainly talks about a ton of unrelated stuff, and the other actually talks about music, instruments, influences etc. 😂 P.S. in this case I have nothing against 5SOS or One Direction for that matter. 5SOS is a decent mix of pop-punk and alt rock, and 1D is the closest thing we have to 70's soft rock in the mainstream 😎
What Michael said about having that moment where everything clicks... I’ve played drums for a few years now and I remember that click. It’s such a surreal moment when you’re sitting there and you realize: “holy shit. I’m a musician. I get this. This is what I wanna do with my life.” And what’s even better is that 5sos inspired me to pick up my first pair of drumsticks. Literally he’s the reason why I had that click and why music is my passion and soul and the reason I breathe. I loved this interview a lot. Finally, we can hear them talk about the music they love and live for rather than stupid, meaningless, repetitive questions!

What a sick guitar. Ever since he started getting his custom les paul juniors and more recently playing this particular model on stage, I've been waiting for this announcement. Such a great looking instrument, especially the full size headstock and the red inlays/logo.
I love the way he thinks, im 17, and sometimes seing so many guitar idols and iconic riffs and staff, you say, hey maybe im to late, but seing that you can actually keep aproaching guitar and making good mainstream songs (like michael) its really inspiring.

i wanted to sound like synyster gates from a7x, but it was michael clifford from 5sos who inspired me to pick up the guitar. he's the kind of person who believes anyone can play if they try, and you dont need anything flashy to rock out. his custom 100% speaks to my values as a guitar player, it and the joan jett custom are absolutely tied for my dream guitar...
If Gibson decides to release this guitar to the public to actually buy, that'd be amazing. Ever since I'd seen Michael with his signature model, I loved it. I just hope it would be sold as a reasonable price because of what Michael saying about wanting a new generation of guitarists.

This band is the reason I got into music as much as I have and wish I could take it further. Unfortunately I have been told from day dot to get a trade/ certificate and can only one chosen subject like that which meant I couldn’t do music in my last 2 years of schooling but these boys inspire me so much and gives me that hope, I just don’t know what to do.
You can see how genuinely passionate he is about playing the guitar from the way he talked. He really loves what he is doing but i feel like all of the 5sos members would like to play their instruments more if you know what I mean. Like in Meet you there, Ashton got an his time to shine, in She's kinda hot, Calum had his part etc etc. But i have a feeling that the expectations are stopping them from actually playing their instruments the way they would like to. Easier and Teeth are in my opinion the songs where they finally brake trough and play with genuine happiness. Disclaimer, this is just an opinion.
I think the difference in the studio Teeth and Easier and the Live from the Vault, and then again having just seen them on tour, that you're right. The 2017 Rock in Rio set is really cool, but it's a outlier. On tour in 2022, we did get more pure musical moments; Michael has some gorgeous ones and the sadly abrupt Red Desert has a huge drum moment. I saw them a few shows close together and I loved that that it wasn't note for note, tone for tone, each time. Probably most notable in the vocal intros for Jet Black Heart, but also true for differentiation in outtro riffs too!.

@@bintangl5191 up until this year. He was almost exclusively playing fender percision basses, so that could have been a possibility.
