+Maangchi Yum! Makes we want a Coca-Cola and your fried chicken. Thanks for the shot of the snow. Why do you use the egg white instead of the whole egg? Not as heavy?

+Maangchi Oh my gosh this is detectible! My mouth is watering! Tell me Maangchi, can you do this with fish? And if so, what kind of fish do you recommend?

+M Mills The chicken is only 1/2 pound, so a whole egg is too much. If you make this with 1 pound of chicken, use a whole egg. I mentioned this in the recipe.

    *storm outside tearing things up*
Maangchi: So we start with the chicken cutting it into small pieces.
*cut to five mins later -- in the background buildings are being destroyed*
Maangchi: Next we have to clean and chop up the leeks.
    lol.

Tigrinya caption was submitted by one of my viewers! Thank you so much!
Tigrinya, often written as Tigrigna /tɪˈɡriːnjə/[3] (ትግርኛ Tigriññā) is a member of the Ethiopian Semitic branch of the Afroasiatic languages. It is spoken by the Tigrayans and Tigrinyas of the Horn of Africa. Tigrinya speakers primarily inhabit Eritrea (70%); this group is specifically known as the Tigrinyas. Tigrinya is also spoken by groups of emigrants from these regions, including some Beta Israel and the Tigray Region in northern Ethiopia (57%), where its speakers are called Tigrayans (Tigrawot; feminine Tigrāweyti, male Tigraway, plural Tegaru).

Just made your recipe for the second time in two days. My dad said he didnt want any yesterday but came out for some after he smelled it. I only used 1/2 tb of red pepper flakes because i want sure how spicy it will make it. Today i made enough for the both of us at full strength spiciness and it still wasnt spicy enough. Ill make it again maybe next week with 1 tb and a half of red pepper flakes. My dad understands now why i love making korean food. Its soo good. Thank you Maangchi. ❤

My girlfriend and I had this for dinner tonight. It made a perfect dinner. I added some lemon grass and kiefer lime leaves that I needed to use. I made a refreshing marinated Korean style cucumber salad to go with it. There were no leftovers! My house will smell like garlic and ginger for days. Which is a good thing. I will use shrimp next time.
Also I love how you had a coke with it!

Pro tip: establish yourself as a pro cook then get your room mates to chip in cost of ingredients and batch cook. You'll save a fortune doing that.

Maangchi, before me and my husband watched and binge-watched your videos, we only knew Korean BBQ. You’re a true ambassador of Korean food. You show the steps in cooking and even explain why and how you use the ingredients. We have learned a lot from you. Today, we cooked this spicy chicken recipe and it made for a true comfort food. Except for the rice syrup (we used agave syrup instead), we had every ingredient on hand thus we were able to follow the recipe. Thank you for sharing a lot of your recipes. We really like watching how you do them so we can pause/play the steps as we follow along. More power to you. We continue to await more of your videos. Stay safe always.

Maangchi, that looked awesome, hot but awesome. Hey i have a hint for you when chopping chilis. If you spray the one hand that is holding the chili when you chop with a pan spray (like 'Pam") the oil will coat your hand and protect you from the chili burn. When you wash your hand off, all the chili will come off with the oil so when you don't feel any oil on your hand the chili is gone and you don't have to worry so much about touching your eyes but be careful anyway. Better safe than sorry. LOL Again, that looked awesome and I will have to make it myself.

Maangchi, I love this recipe so much, it is like candy. I love the smaller serving, the danger of it is that it is so good it will be gone almost as fast as you can dish it out! This is a life changing recipe, the kind to make with love for those you really care about. Thank you so much, your fan!

This was the first real “meal” I had ever made and I have made it several times since then! One of my absolute favorites. I’ve always been good at baking but never really cooked meals like this until I moved into an apartment with my then fiancé (now husband).
I was so shocked that it turned out amazing since I was super nervous about cooking chicken since it was really the first time doing so!
Somehow, later on, I managed to make steaks for my husband exactly the way he likes it and I had never even cooked steak before then either. Every time I cook a meal I always just convince myself that it’ll be bad and it sucks not feeling confident enough in your own cooking skills, especially when my husband says it’s amazing (I still don’t believe him 😂).
    I love your videos! ❤

Very very satisfying to watch. Absolutely superb presentation. The sounds of chopping & frying made me really really hungry. Hostess is superb. Genuinely friendly & squeaky clean. This channel is marvellous.

When Maangchi says, "Rice syrup - 2 tbsp" and adds the syrup without any spoon, I knew she has the best culinary skills👍.. (sorry Ma)

Thank you for this! Another terrific recipe! I made it for lunch and I swear, I have NEVER fried chicken before in my life, but this turned out perfect and delicious. Your recipes make things so simple and you explain everything clearly, it really gives me confidence to try something I've never attempted before. Thank you, Maangchi! You're helping make this quarantine bearable for me:-)

I made kkangpunggi and dakgangjeong this week for dinner. Lots of memories came back from when I made this with my friends in high school when this video had just come out. Whenever I'm not sure what to make for dinner, I always come back to your recipes. I have and love your books, but I always watch your videos first. Thank you for sharing these recipes that we can make with our loved ones! 💖💖💖
