Thank you so much! I was feeling overwhelmed by the Rosh Hashana-Shabbat three-day holy day extravaganza and was about to throw in the towel. I remembered your video. You eat much more healthily than do we (goals!), but the concepts and the planning lessened my anxiety greatly.
I love this finally good healthy vibes for chagim meals thank you:) if you're ever in the mood again gor a cooking video i would loooove if you can add amounts so i can jot down as i watch and get motivated:) but anyways thank you so much!!!
For sure I'd love to do more cooking videos if you want me too! I do try to make plenty of vegetable dishes and lighter options, especially for summer Shabbats. Will try to do better with adding amounts. ☺️ Thank you for your comment and feedback!❤️
I wish your daughter a very speedy recovery after surgery and hope she is doing well! I always look forward to your videos, you’re pleasant to listen to and I always learn something new! Much love to you all ♥️
Holidays really are a lot of work for you! I don't blame you for feeling overwhelmed or anxious even now after however many years you have been a convert. I get overwhelmed about Easter and Christmas so I can't even begin to imagine the amount of holidays you have. I love your channel. I also follow a Jewish convert in Texas. Her husband loves to cook so she mainly handles baked goods, desserts and some sides. So, I really enjoy your perspective. I've learned so much. In case no one has told you lately, you are doing an amazing job! Wishing speedy wellness for everyone. 💗💗💗💗
Yes, Chana from Jar of Fireflies, I watch her channel too and she is an inspiration to me! I think her husband is Morroccan, has she mentioned that before? I can't remember. Mine is Iraqi descent, but I feel like we do have a lot in common! 😊 Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement, it really does mean a lot to me. 💕
Yes, my weekly shabbos meals are about the same amount of work as a standard Thanksgiving meal. You can imagine a holiday of a few days...even my nightly dinners are a couple of courses all home cooked. Nothing beats meals made with love, even if its a lot of work
I really enjoy and look forward to your videos; you are very talented and have a beautiful family. Sincere wishes for a Refuah Shlema for your sweet daughter. Shavua Tov!
Hi Jayelle. When you make your cinnamon rolls, do you use any kind of a frosting on them? I’m looking forward to your next video!! I check every day to see if you have uploaded one!! ❤
Hi Claudia! Sometimes I do, either the standard cream cheese/butter if I want to go all out and I don't mind if they are dairy, or just a simple glaze with icing sugar/almond milk/lemon juice if I want them parve. But more often than not, I just leave them plain, my kids don't care 😂 and it's a lot less sugar that way. I am so sorry I haven't gotten a video out in so long, but I am working on the next one which IyH will be uploaded soon. Thank you so much for your patience and support, it really means a lot to me! 🤗💗
@@jayellealafi5797 thank you so much for the information!! I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my question!! Your videos are worth waiting for!! I know you are a so busy with 4 little kids!! I’m glad the cinnamon rolls are good without frosting. Nobody needs that much sugar. I say a lot of prayers for Aviva. It broke my heart to see a little one having to fight so hard and all of the worry you went through. I will continue praying for her. Have a great week and I’ll see you soon ❤️❤️
You're most welcome! I love getting questions/comments from my people. 😉 Thank you so much for your prayers, she is a little fighter indeed, I feel so fortunate I get to be her mom. I'm with you on the sugar issue, haha, my cinnamon rolls won't win any baking awards, but neither will they cause diabetes, so it's okay imho. Wishing you all the best! 🥰
New Sub. Thank you for the video. It all looks so yummy. I am loving the idea of the pinwheel. I’m adding it to my menu plans. I hope your doctor will have a successful surgery and a speedy recovery
You're welcome, I'm so happy you enjoyed it! The pinwheels were really good, although my kids picked the vegetables out. 😂. In the future I might make some plain with just a bit a cheese/tomato sauce/olives, especially for them. Thank you for your kind wishes! 💗
Thank you so much! 🤗 The cutter is a life saver! I always used to make such a dreadful mess in my kitchen, they'd stain my cutting board, make splats everywhere... This cutter just makes certain kitchen tasks so much easier and cleaner. I've added a link below the video (in the description box) to a very similar one, if you'd like to purchase one for your own kitchen. 💗
@@jayellealafi5797 Thank you very much! I have even found one cutter from a local company (Czech Republic), almost identical. I will definitely try it. Looking forward to your next videos! 🤩🙏
Hi again, what a fabulous video. Your food looks amazing and the salad with the beets, apple, carrot and pomegranate sounds delicious and so fresh. You work so hard. May I also take the opportunity to wish your daughter and your family a successful surgery. I will be keeping you all in my thoughts.
That salad is delicious, definitely among my favourites! Thank you for your kind words, I hope to be posting an update on her progress in the near future. 🤗💕
Thank you so much for reminding me that I forgot to include it. (facepalm) 🥴 You can check back now, I've updated the description. I put the kubeh recipe as well. 💗
What a great question! Yes, so what we do is after hard boiling them, peel and cut in half. Remove the yolk and look it over for any blood spot. If none, the entire egg can be used. Commercial eggs nowadays virtually never have blood spots, since it's only fertile eggs (blood spot means the egg has been fertilized, which is only possible if there's access to a rooster) that have blood spots. And since commercial egg farms keep their hens separated in cages, there's no fertilization happening. Blood spots are more a problem in free range eggs, where the hens are kept together with a rooster. I wish and would love to find a farm around here that has free range hens kept apart from a rooster, that would be awesome! I hope this answered you question. 😊
hi jayelle this is a wonderful video! 😊 i just wanted to mention that as per halacha, meat and dairy still may not be eaten in the same meal although different dishes may have been used and the appropriate .5/1 hour waiting period may have past. birkat hamazon would be required between serving the cheesecake and kubbeh, at least according to the poskim that i follow (chabad minchag/nusach). ive really been enjoying your videos and wanted to mention it out of caring conversation as you are so very consciously knowledgeable on halachot 🫶🏼 you have a beautiful family!
1. IIRC, she is Sephardic, so her rules may differ; 2. I was told by my converting Rabbi that I could eat the dairy food first, then rinse and make a blessing before eating meat; 3. It hasn't been an issue yet, but I am all for eating dessert first!
