But it's possible that the rails were meant to have the red, blue & yellow coloring to match the lasers, but for 1 reason or another, all of them were yellow.
They're talking about that purple crusher. Like, if you get crushed by a black crusher, nothing will happen, but you will take damage. But if you let a purple crusher crush one of your characters, the crusher will remain firmly in the ground, leaving the character completely immobile.

The part with the lasers must have been changed in development because in Final Fortress, ALL the rails are yellow.
