Thanks for posting this. I can attest that this was totally unplanned, as were all of my interactions (as Geoff) with Craig. Serj was not based on Bronson Pinchot’s character from Beverly Hills Cop, but I can see the resemblance. Source: me. 😉💀

I honestly think this is the greatest moment in the show. The introduction of Serge, and that accent, is so out of nowhere…. I don’t think any other moment broke Craig so much so quickly 😂

Craig Ferguson doesn't care and that's what makes him one of the best late night show hosts of all time. Still makes me laugh to this today. Josh robert thompson also underrated😂

To JRT and Craig....you guys have to come back to save the sanity of the USA. THE most incredible late night TV show ever. The current crop of late nite talk shows is TOTAL GARBAGE! Maybe with the exception of the current guy on CBS. This skit, no matter how many times I view it, still makes me cry with laughter. OUTSTANDING guys. Someone has to bring you guys back.
Some day I might be involved in a deep philosophical discussion after someone close passed away, maybe even in church, and another participant will mention Søren Kierkegaard, and I will lose my $hit. It may not be tomorrow, or the next ten years, but over time the chance of it happening will approach 100% - I live in fear. "Hello, this is SØREN KIERKEGAARD!!!"
Craig: "Man, we should really rehearse some of that sometimes." But we all know that doing that would've ruined the whole spontaneity of the comedy between these two fellas. They were flying without a net, and it was just naturally funny. Even that little moment when Craig picks up the ringing phone and the sound effect hasn't stopped, and he makes a frustrated grimace about it-- that adds to the appeal and charm of this stuff. It's not unlike watching live television even though it's taped in advance. This is close in vibe to when one of the sketches on The Carol Burnett Show would go off the rails, like their "Mary Worthless" skit which was going fine until one little thing went wrong and then it just becomes a hilarious train wreck to behold.

Have you really ever been to Dover?
Freaking Geoff is in the comments awesome
Philly people go to anywhere but Pat's or Gino's - there are lots of great cheesesteak places in South Philly, but not one secret unnamed location!
I see you’re making the rounds on old videos :)
How is it that Craig Ferguson and a robot have more chemistry than any other late night duo?
Scott Shanahan maybe Eric and Hannibal, maybe they rival these two

That's cool you knew his name. I have been watching Josh Robert Thompson's late night live chats on his Instagram lately.
I love how JRT can't even get in one sentence as Serge before they both lose their shit lol
Serge's "Haaauerrr yrruu??" pops into my head regularly.
I love how much Craig loves this
Craig's reaction, and Josh trying not to laugh while he's talking, kill me every time I watch this.
Also the "May I ask where you're from?".
This is one of the greatest improvised comedic moments in the last ten years of broadcasting and no one even knows it happened.

That is actually true in a way. Everybody in Philly eats at "Chickes and Pete's" and all the tourists go to Jim's or pats.
