We all knew the 550i was going to win. We only came to see just how bad it beat the competition 😅

I love Mercedes but they are getting too tame with the AMG cars while BMW is making their best cars ever.

The M550i was car of the summer for me. Suit wearing murderer. That was a fun race, that Bimmer was NO JOKE.

Definitely saw that coming with the M550i. I’d be willing to bet the 540i would be close with the CLS 53.
True, the actual real-world horsepower of the 540i is probably about the same if not more than the CLS 53.

Mercedes cls 53 has 429 hp. V6. BMW is v8. 523 hp. Not fair race.

Let me make it more simple comparison its like having the 760i compete with the E63 doesnt make sense right? The M550i only competes with E classs variants

Knew even before watching this the M550i would take it. Those things a monsters with that N63 Engine.
Any 43 or 53 fake AMG will always lose. It’s a shame they didn’t continue the CLS line with the proper AMG V8 M177

@Silimarina drag races conpare cars in similar price tag, specially from 2 very similarly priced brands. Everyone knew the m550i will win in a drag race, but this showed how much you get more from bmw.
@A Aboelnoor all this talk about the price, while the Maserati is in the six figures, the proper race should be based the same class of car. CLS used to compete with 6 Grancoupe, which no longer exist. The CLS only has the Audi 7 to compete with nowadays. If they are gonna race cars based on price, they should bring in a Golf R and race it against a Bronco lol

What I like the most about BMW is the fact that they never tell lies on papers 🏁 instead you'll be more surprised while the others are disappointed

I don't think Bmw give there correct hp n torque numbers.its clearly a lot more than they say it is.The x drive system on the bmw is in a league of its own.theres no 4WD ,or AWD car that compares to x drive.
Except Porsche. Porsche's AWD system is pretty stellar too.

Before watching the video, M550i will make minced meat out of the other two. I'm a Mercedes / AMG fan and I never liked those 6 cylinder AMGs .

I feel like these AMG-'53' models deploy an invisible parachute out the back of them once they hit ~75 mph. Initial acceleration both from a dig and roll is very strong (prob thanks to the EQ Boost) but top end power tapers off noticeably in these.
I do feel that in my e53, but after all 400hp isn't a different world for a 2 ton car

Considering the CLS has 429hp and 384 tq makes the entire argument the 550 has 456 hp and 480 tq stage one tune they are almost comparable in my opinion Benz should fix the tourque difference!

The e class 53 same engine as cls is the direct competitor to the m550i. The E63 is the M5 competitor. What’s the problem here? Do you not understand hierarchy of models?

They are direct competitors. The pre-2020 M550i had 456hp which is in the same league as the CL53/E53’s 429hp. BMW decided to go bonkers in 2020 and boosted the M550i to 523hp.
