- Ready for Round 2?! Who do you think had the better Symbiote story arc? Was it Yuri Lowenthal as Peter in Marvel Spider-Man 2 (2023)? Or Josh Keaton in the Spectacular Spider-Man animated series (2008)? Let me know your opinion in the comments!

I like them both for different reasons. The internal fight Keaton’s Spider-Man went through his probably my favorite depiction of an inner conflict in fiction, but I will admit that actually being in the shoes of Spider-Man learning to love using the raw power of the Symbiote really makes you understand why it was so addicting to Peter.
All I can say is both of their performances really carry the story

Unfortunately the game didn’t gave us proper time to shine on that addiction of peter..they should had done a time skip of a week or a few days to justify peter getting so angry and addicted because he only kept thw suit for 2 days

Symbiote episode was amazing.
Josh Keaton hands down. His performance felt the most natural/authentic to me of all the voice actors to portray the symbiote story.
I feel like bully lowenthal shows more addiction to the symbiote but Keaton was more entertaining

@shaunavant532 dude Spider-Man with the suit still struggled against lizard. And his biggest foe was kraven. Insomniac spiderman is very strong but keatons walloped kraven even after he got super powers

yuri got pieced up by the sinister six at 23 and had to take them out 2 at a time spectacular 1v6d a stronger version of the team at 17 years old whilst sleeping 😭

2. Spectaculars sinister 6 is NOT stronger than insomniacs, Rhino and Electro from insomniac alone could kill all of spectaculars sinister 6
3. Insomniac beat them 1v2 with 14 BROKEN BONES Spectacular had the symbiote and STILL got his ass beat

Sometimes I feel like spider-man is the only one who the suit changes His personality because but that's not true although But there is one person who this suit did not affect, and this person is Deadpool. He was also the one who wore this suit before Spider-Man, and I think he is the reason for making Venom as we know him

Well for the first example, Keaton didn’t return it to doctors who were just gonna study it but lowenthal didn’t want to give it up to his best friend who was going to die without it. As much as I love Keaton, lowenthal was worse
Exactly man Lowenthal was 100 times worse than Keaton and Maguire to a degree sure Maguire hit MJ and threw a grenade at Harry with intent to hurt him. But Lowenthal was going to sacrifice his own brother in a sense just for power the choice is obvious not to mention Lowenthal became possessed like Keaton however unlike Keaton he was animalistic when he was possessed.
I can’t believe no one is bringing up that Keaton was going to kill Doc Ock that’s wild!
Imo that’s what was missing from Lowenthal, actual consequences and how he hurts people physically as well as mentally. Other than leaving his best friend to die and saying mean words to people he cares about he doesn’t do as much damage.
I would’ve loved to see him lash out at Black Cat for what she did to him and beat her badly (and screwball because fuck that character). While I love Lowenthal and the game I wasn’t impressed with how low stakes the symbiote arc felt, not to mention rushed.

I wanted to include it but couldn't as I was trying to match up sequences from both adaptations. Yuri was BADASS in that moment though can't lie he was ALWAYS badass
