Notice how the harmonica plays mainly between the vocal lines. Harmonica players take note. Don't blow when the singer is singing!!! Rather, answer the vocal melody. Greatest harmonica!!!!
She reminds me A LOT of Jim Morrison when she sings...she gets that far away look in her eyes and you can tell that the music is transporting her someplace truly amazing.
Yeah me too. I'm a big Doors' fan, and I've thought that for a while. She can be scarier than Jim, if you can believe that. Listen to her sing "32-20". archive.org/download/cowboyjunkiesmargotimmins/Margo%20Timmins%20Album%204.flac
I can't say I ever noticed that before you mentioned it here. I then went back and I took a look at the DVD of their show at Quebec Summer Music Fest while promoting the Open album and did I ever notice it there!
Final feet never fails to bring tears to my eyes, even after listening to them for more than 30 years they still have that effect. Great band! love their music. Thank you for all these years :-)
These days her voice is a shadow of what it used to be but that's just something that happens with age sometimes. That's no slam against her of course, I'd listen to her farting on a snare drum if that's all she was offering. I can't honestly say that she is no longer able to sing like she used to, because I don't honestly know. She likes to sing the old songs differently a lot of the time and they always rework the old ones live anyway. She could simply be keeping things fresh. You never know what you're going to get from an old song when they perform at live from one tour to the next. Either way whether it's age or simple boredom with what's been done already, we'll always have the records to listen to and remember how they made us feel when we first heard them and in subsequent listening sessions.
I've had a crush on her for almost 30 years. She and her voice age like fine wine, always better lookin' and soundin' as time goes on. Looking forward to checking the band out when they roll through my city in April 2020. Will be my first time ever seeing them live and I just can't wait.
Was volunteering when they played at the Calgary folk festival. Caught 20 minutes of their set (including “Sweet Jane” and they’re still incredible. I was doing gate security and was swaying back and forth as we guided patrons out.
Margo is a goddess. I saw their live stream last week (March 2017) and they sounded great. Margo's hair is white/silver, but her voice is still golden. They have a small but dedicated audience -- some of their musical moments are transcendent -- including the recent music which is profound and prolific.
An incredible show with such a strong set list. Margo is simply a treasure of modern music! Adore her!!! Wish this show would ever be available in BD/DVD/CD format! Love from Russia!
I fell for this band when Caution Horses was released. Got to see them live in Manchester (England). I had my picture taken with Margo, and it's the best reminder of how much I love them. No pretense, no OTT trite, just wonderful people who make wonderful music.
I have several of their earlier vinyls, I am so in love with Margo. She is rare and none between. I play her soft slow stuff to help me relax and sleep. Seen them twice, was more than worth the money. My one question, why isn't the stage lite with deep and sultry purple lights ? Lou Reed's stage gives me that added power rush.....!
Great sound in this band. Timeless and songs that last the years, Margo is great, and the lyrics are so unique and poetic. Thanks for sharing this live show. Never got to see them.
I love this show, but i wish y'all would've showed more of ole dude playing the acousic/electric Mandolin with the wah wah pedal leads ... Just sayin'❤️❤️❤️ I love y'all, I'm a loyal follower..❤️❤️
They really are, all of them. Such nice and decent people are rare in music but not unheard of. Cowboy Junkies are on a different level entirely however. By all accounts they are completely lacking in ego or pretentious airs. That was my experience with them as well
This is still my go to "escape" concert...Saw them on the same tour when they played the Sound Of Music Festival in my hometown of Burlington, Ontario and it was AMAZING!
I'd love to see them again before I'm dead. I saw them once in the late 90s and they were absolutely amazing. I walked out of that venue with tears of joy having heard some of the most moving and meaningful music I've ever experienced. But also tears of sadness because the show was over, not knowing when and if I would ever see them live again. Over 20 years have passed since that show and I remember it like it was yesterday.
Saw these guys last night at The Narrows in Fall River, MA. They were great. She has a great voice, and she was incredibly personable and funny. Don't know why some groups don't have more success than they do. These guys are one of those groups.
That' what makes the band 18 Months is a long time and I enjoyed watching the them kick asss. love the music and voice, Don't care about the time. Watching again now lol
Bella voce, gruppo interessante e tecnicamente preparato, che esegue in modo eccellente, brani propri e anche "cover". Colpevolmente, non li conoscevo e, quindi, sono piacevolmente "colpito". Bravi! :-)
Do you have inside information, e.g. They are staying at your house for a week? (jk) The only CA tour dates I see are 4/26 in Saratoga and then Stagecoach in Indio/Coachella.
They just sit and make great music. No pretense. No crazy gyrations. Margo is ethereal. They all are. Margo and her husband go to China. They teach English in villages. (Village China style. 250,000 population) I just can't get enough of this group! Check out their Nomad Albums. LOVE IT.
It's her brother Michael the guitar player and songwriter and his wife who do the China thing, not Margo and her husband. Although I would argue that Margo is most certainly a similarly good-hearted kind person and I'm sure she does lots of good things for people as well. Just not in China teaching English.
I am not the first person to fall in love with that voice and I won't be the last.
If you are trying to get off drugs put Margo, her voice is the best drug out there, I am speaking from experience.
Seems like You feel similar to me. Some female voices give me tears in my eyes.
Margo has so much talent she doesn't need all the Hollywood fake glam. She is beautiful just the way she is.
i guess it is kinda off topic but does anyone know of a good website to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Dean Patrick try FlixZone. You can find it on google :)
Cowboy Junkies are ways in rotation in my Bimmer and turntable in my home. Margo is a beauty in both appearance and voice. One great band!
INIT ❤
Margo is a spectacular singer. What an amazing true and straight forward performer !
even at 11:30 in the morning!
Notice how the harmonica plays mainly between the vocal lines. Harmonica players take note. Don't blow when the singer is singing!!! Rather, answer the vocal melody. Greatest harmonica!!!!
Jeff Byrd is a musical tour-de-force, with and without Cowboy Junkies
How does Mr Byrd make his mandolin sound like a Les Paul sometimes? Maybe an octave lowering pedal, overdrive and lots of compression? I'm impressed.
true that!
You make perfect sense and he is a fab player
You're on top of this!!
She's phenomenally brilliant. That angelic voice has me mesmerised.
I asked her to marry me in 98 . She laughed as only Margo can. Beautiful voice and lady all in one. Rock on Junkies.
Absolutely! That's what attracted me to them
Same here. I've loved these guys since The Trinity Sessions debuted. Margot's voice mesmerized me way back then!
The whole band.... just total class and polish ... nothing can be faulted ... true Canadian professionalism .... Thank you Junkies
Your comment nailed it, well said.
Wow. Well said. That one word "polish" , just pin point accuracy.
20+ years on and Murder in the Trailer Park still gives me goosebumps. When it's real it lasts.
just listened to her voice for first time singing Powderfinger. how did I miss these guys. am 62
i offered her bug spray and i nearly passed out from my crush. she was so kind. her voice still swoons me.
Her spirit transported me during the after show chat in Asheville
Tamura, you are absolutely right about the similarity of her to Morrison. Same talent, Same gripping trip. Power of oneness.

Now that I think about it... Right on, man.
Never thought of that but see what you mean. Right On ! Long live The Lizard King ...
But....the bass player looked like Jim Morrison.
Final feet never fails to bring tears to my eyes, even after listening to them for more than 30 years they still have that effect. Great band! love their music. Thank you for all these years :-)
I saw them in an open air venue in Oregon about 20 years ago. Outstanding concert; huge talent. Margo’s voice is haunting.
her voice is one of life's true treasures. the lady CAN SING
Like Velvet ❤️❤️
These days her voice is a shadow of what it used to be but that's just something that happens with age sometimes. yeah Proper too, not just pop commercial "hit the high note" screamers... Margo is a True Vocalist!

Reminds me Natalie Merchant

This family sounds very good they were born for music. Margo´s voice is like to be in heaven
Was volunteering when they played at the Calgary folk festival. Caught 20 minutes of their set (including “Sweet Jane” and they’re still incredible. I was doing gate security and was swaying back and forth as we guided patrons out.
I would gladly be willing to drive miles from my home to hear the Cowboy Junkies perform.
I envy you for many forthcoming discoveries to have 😊
One of the best underrated bands ever!
I agree ...They are AMAZING!
Thank you Cowboy Junkies. When I need to come home, you bring me there.
Love everything about the CJ's - love the mandolin with overdrive - love Margo's voice. Just fabulous!
Authentic and so beautiful--her voice omg.
Full concert is perfect, but Follower 2 live is simply amazing, take my breath away. Thank you for your music performance!
What a beautiful haunting voice Margo...and Michael - you are simply stellar on the guitar...been a fan forever!
What a brilliant show that was and then there’s Margo❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🥰🥰🥰👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🥇🥇🥇🎤👸🏻
real passion for great constructed music......margo bless and all.
I love this band. Their rendition of "Blue Moon" (Revisited) is resplendent.
Margo is a goddess. I saw their live stream last week (March 2017) and they sounded great. Margo's hair is white/silver, but her voice is still golden. They have a small but dedicated audience -- some of their musical moments are transcendent -- including the recent music which is profound and prolific.
Gonna go see them play in my city this summer - so excited. I'm 30 and still "discovering" good music.
I not long discovered Cowboy Junkies. I like their diverse sound. I’m hooked!!
An incredible show with such a strong set list. Margo is simply a treasure of modern music! Adore her!!! Wish this show would ever be available in BD/DVD/CD format! Love from Russia!
Je ne m 'en lasse jamais et ce depuis 35 ans.Quel groupe, quelle voix surtout ....

Xdr
Damn, Margo still is hot after all these years and sounds great. Love you honey.
Can anyone hear the Cowboy Junkies and not fall in love with Margo?
Margo crush! Forever...
Great sound in this band. Timeless and songs that last the years, Margo is great, and the lyrics are so unique and poetic. Thanks for sharing this live show. Never got to see them.

Just sayin'❤️❤️❤️
I love y'all, I'm a loyal follower..❤️❤️
TH-cam you have a big thank you from me, for lining up such wonderful music. Keep on, getting on
Why have I never seen this before...It's 'Brilliant'!
Feel the same - it's unsettling that such fanastic music was out there for so many years and I was oblivious to it.
She is so goddamned good!
The more I listen to and watch them, the more I like them !
Just saw her acceptance speech/reproach. Beautiful, so humble, and the band.... The whole buch of em are beautiful people!
They really are, all of them. Such nice and decent people are rare in music but not unheard of. Cowboy Junkies are on a different level entirely however. By all accounts they are completely lacking in ego or pretentious airs. That was my experience with them as well
When the Cowboy Junkies perform I definitely get it.
Her voice on Follower 2 is absolutely amazing!
This is still my go to "escape" concert...Saw them on the same tour when they played the Sound Of Music Festival in my hometown of Burlington, Ontario and it was AMAZING!
Margo's voice and stage presence is crazy good. I was starting a book but something in me head said knock it off LOL
Love this band and the beautiful lady in the front. Singing perfectly for me. Let it be
simply beautiful, Margo has an exceptional voice, makes me cry, missing that band
Great junkies, her voice quite amazing
From Russia with Love!!! She's wonderful, beautiful, excellent and other grateful.. I'm n loved.. Really!
Long time faves. Pretty much a family band from Toronto, Canada.
A tremendous performance from a band I will admit I know very little about. I have never heard electric mandolin played like THAT before!
Margo has got a great voice...a touch of Joan Baez in there...both very accomplished vocalists...Cowboy Junkies Rock !!
I've always LOVED her voice!
i just love this great wonderfull band!!thank you so much!!
i am a junkie for the cowboys, always will be x
Jeff’s contribution is incredible…
Ahhh...didn't know that: these absolute wonder guys are Canadian! After all these years i really musttt see them live !
I'd love to see them again before I'm dead. I saw them once in the late 90s and they were absolutely amazing. Their both blowin'... The strum and the sliding bass are doing the dance step too...
Soulful and full voiced! And the band is terrific
This performance of Good Friday...... gets me every time
Most Underrated band I must say.
Saw these guys last night at The Narrows in Fall River, MA. They were great. She has a great voice, and she was incredibly personable and funny. Don't know why some groups don't have more success than they do. These guys are one of those groups.
Audio is great, video is amazing !
Margo is a goddess❤️
One of the most underrated bands out there. Might be because they don’t fit in a specific genre. Have loved their work.
just wonderful to watch and listen to
That is one of the most beautiful ladies I have ever witnessed.
virtualbush And she looks like she'd be happier anywhere but here.
virtual - you are completely correct
That' what makes the band 18 Months is a long time and I enjoyed watching the them kick asss. love the music and voice, Don't care about the time. Watching again now lol
A Google User she sounds deep in the music to me - maybe adjust your set
@@agoogleuser3443 I don't see that at all.
Bella voce, gruppo interessante e tecnicamente preparato, che esegue in modo eccellente, brani propri e anche "cover". Colpevolmente, non li conoscevo e, quindi, sono piacevolmente "colpito". Bravi! :-)
Jeff Byrd is friggin awesome!
The way you breath live into the word your brother wright's is just amazing!
What a voice! What a music! Oh baby woman!
Thanks for the music 😊
First time I have seen this band. They are excellent
Margo as turned my crank or metaled my butter, ever since i saw the cowboy junkies on David Letterman in the '90's
The best ever band with a heart of gold. I'll always love them.
she just feeeels that music... like itsin her soul
Saw them at Mississippi Nights in St. Louis back in the 90’s. Such a great show!
Thx so much for posting, what a great show. (And if I've already recently thanked you, well, my apologies and thx again!!!)

Do you have inside information, e.g. They are staying at your house for a week? (jk)
The only CA tour dates I see are 4/26 in Saratoga and then Stagecoach in Indio/Coachella.
My bad...no idea why I typed that date. Looking forward to Saratoga show.
It's OK, Robert. Was just hoping the Junkies would be hanging out in Cali longer.
Love the music running out of data see you all when I can Carolyn
Absolutely real people
That ending is enough to run you off a cliff to stop the pain of the abrupt halt! Wow. Great effing show. New fan, alas.
Lovely session Indeed :)
I'm glad I'm watching this video.
The band of my wife and my courtship in 1994. We listened to the Cowboy Junkies and also Tuck and Patti on many road trips or just around the house.
Follower 2 is an amazing song...wow
Awesome concert.. Can't wait to see CJ in October for the first time live.
My absolute favourite band …

Happy 55th Birthday Margo Timmins
very fine... all of this
True torchiness . . . I like the comment that said ". . . scarier than Jim Morrison." Thanks for keeping it together.
that harmonica is ON point
They just sit and make great music. No pretense. No crazy gyrations. Margo is ethereal. They all are.

Nagyon egyszerű, nagyon jó!
