Got my WIRED FREEDOM yesterday, 25min to assemble. Easy assembly! Absolutely love the bike. My coworkers absolutely love it too. Unbeatable quality for this price, I am amazed! The shipping was fantastic. I received mine in 2 days. Can't wait to put it together and check it out. Another great video. Another great bike review. Thank you

I have my Freedom set to weak pedal assist c14 = 1 and generally use pedal assist 2 which gives me about 360 watts. The bike goes 19-22 mph and I have been getting 70+ miles using little or no throttle. I was told the extra large motor is super efficient like this and it’s proven by only requiring 360 watts to cruise at 20mph. Don’t like going any faster on paths or trails but it’s nice to be able to go 35mph with car like acceleration when needed. Bike is so fun and useful!
These are the range numbers I was really curious about. Torture test range estimates don’t tell us anything about long real-world rides at legal class 1/2 speeds with mild assistance and gentle acceleration, which is what I suspect most riders will be doing when riding long distances.
I usually get around 30 miles to a charge. That's in a somewhat hilly area, and I'm 250lbs. But I also once killed it at 27 miles, so it depends. Longest range was 37 miles and I rode half of that in just peddal assist 1 and 2 and throttled it back. I think I could get 50 if I really kept pedal assist low the whole time. Top speed was 42.3mph on a slight, but long, downhill grade. Rack attachments were bent in shipping, but I like it better with no rack or fenders.

Ya 48v should be when it’s basically dead. And that’s at 3.0v a cell. Most of these cells can be discharged to 2.5v per cell safely so that’s 40v but BMS will probably shut off before that so this is pretty impressive.
10:40 51 volts is 15-20% charge, and very impressive after such an aggressive ride! Especially since thats voltage under load, motor pulling 1600w. Could easily see it hump up another 1v or so at idle or at the crest of the hill
I like the battery segments. But what needs to be next to it is the percentage needs to be there also. And that would give a rider a better perspective of how much battery life one has to make it back home or wherever the rider is going.
I picked up a Wicked Freedom last week! Would you mind sharing what that replacement grip is called and where you got it? Thank you for all the great videos man.
This bike has it all! It's great! The range is phenomenal considering you weren't holding back. I would definitely buy this one, especially for that price.
I would too, but I already have an ebike. I am considering upgrading it in a few ways like a higher capacity motor with bigger battery as that would only see me going for a shorter distance which would suck, and the controller has to match. I also want to take out the 7 gears in the back as it bounces, and is not nearly as stable as as a single speed.
Awesome Range Test!!! I just ordered one in Black last Sunday! Will get it mid-February... Will swap out handlebars for more aggressive low riser bar MTB style and longer adjustable stem, new Grips, platform pedals that clip in on one side, remove fenders, set it up for Recon and Off Road Trail Adventures. Might try those anti flat foam tire inserts that prevent flats and allow lower tire pressures... Should be fun!!!! What are the lightest weight aggressive knobby or tread pattern tires you've found or used? I will be trying to shed bike weight especially rotational weight of wheels for better handling. Thank you!!!! : )
the lightest knobby tires i think i had were specialized fast trak but i'm not sure if they make them anymore. if you are trying to shed rotating mass then the foam inserts are definitely not going to help.
I made a range test under heavy acceleration and top speed riding at 225lb, take a look, if you're interested....th-cam.com/video/Y7uhSTklLt0/w-d-xo.html
I've brought 2 of these bikes and I've only got an opportunity to ride them once because it's been raining here in California San Francisco area but I can't wait to get back out there and test this bike for all it's worth I would recommend this Wicked bike Great-Power good speed and looks very nice.
Well I ordered one. Been researching the ebikes for awhile now. I am 6'5 and 255. Live in Texas where heat is a big thing. I know most of these reviewers are in California or else where. And are of average size. So I hope that this will perform the way I want it to with my big frame. Will post back when I get it and tell you how it performs. Big German out.
@@timothywarehime5956 yeah I heard the guy was cool. But putting out an email the other other day saying there are more freedom bikes available for preorder and he doesn't even have a clue where his last patch of preoders are. Doesn't boost my confidence in him at all.
@@timothywarehime5956 I am patient. The only thing is I'll be out of town for a week in the middle of this month. So I wish we would get some kind of notice. Will C. Thanks for your response. Hope it all works out.
That is awesome that the display has a volt meter. I feel left out, I haven't had an ebike that displays voltage yet! Hopefully the one that's coming will have it.
My ebike displays the word power in the screen, but no numbers show. Maybe I have to go into the screen, and figure it out. It would be cool to see, but not necessary as it does everything I’ve encountered with ease.
Even the basic displays like the common M5 you see on a majority of budget bikes have a voltage reader, But you have scroll to it. You can only see one reading at a time. Trip, Distance, Voltage, Current and timing on those screens.
So, this is actual real world range. Website for this bike advertises 80 miles. Then FAQ's to reinforce that: "What is the "real world" range on the battery? Approximately 80 miles. Our battery is one of the largest on the market. That is an undisputable fact. 60v 20ah with LG cells is outrageous! What this means is that our batteries have 1200wh. Just do a google search of the battery size of our competitors (Rad Power, Aventon, Juiced, Sondors, Ariel Rider...). No other ebike comes close. Unfortunately, a lot of companies greatly exaggerate the distance that their ebikes can travel on a single charge. Most of them are 48v 14ah batteries. Unless you are going downhill or getting a serious burn in your leg muscles from peddling so hard, 30 - 40 miles is the most you will achieve on a small battery. Its just physics! " So, actual real-world is less than 1/2 of advertised. Good to know. Thank you!
Would you buy this over the Kelper. with the fact of yes more power. But also a couple hundred bucks more. Would you do a comparison video. Have very good knowledge of ebikes.
Realistically pas 2 will get you about 15-20mph. Anything higher you’ll just be ghost pedaling. I like feeling that slight resistance in pas 2 on my super73 clone.
So add about 15 minutes 20 seconds it cut out, you said. However, you were still peddling at 15 miles an hour, so there was probably battery assist. It is not easy to consistently pedal any bicycle at that speed. Seems to me that you are still getting some sort of assistance. What do you think?
You did a great, more practical use review for us older guys. Thank you! My only question is did you use the default configuration of the Wired Freedom as it came out the box, or did you reconfigure the class and Power settings through their menu? ... Stay safe, and pedal with God. ...Chappy
Got 40 miles on one today on the Silver Comet trail (old railroad line trail so no big hills), using mostly PAS 3 with a good bit of throttle, but I guess I could have gone further since I only got down to 57v. The last three miles I was at 0 voltage bar on the display, but the battery button still showed 2 of 4 bars, and set the cruise control to 20 mph to try to deplete it but made it fine.
Google 60v lithium voltage table. 57.6 volts is 50%. You want to note the voltage under load to best estimate your remaining range. You probably were at about 40% remaining. A voltage table is much more accurate than any gauge or meter on a display. Great that it gives you voltage on main screen.
Unless someone had an a.i. app to help estimate your current "mpg" live as you pedal/throttle it could do all the equations live on a cool color graph and give a digital number
Great review and thank you for all the great info you always put out. I also wonder if you just did throttle at 25mph would the range be probably in the upper 20's miles. I kind of thought with such a large battery and using pedals it could go up to 45 or 50.
I made a range test video at 225lbs and heavy acceleration and top speed with a lot of throttling and pas set to 5. Take a look, if you're interested.....th-cam.com/video/Y7uhSTklLt0/w-d-xo.html
Another good video thank you. I'm just curious most of your other range test that you do were throttle only, like on the bee cool Explorer. Do you feel like if you did a throttle only range test that it would chew up the battery a lot faster? Also I'm kind of surprised you didn't put it on cruise control and let it just run around 20 to 23 mph instead of pedaling in pedal assist number 2. Anyway thank you for another great video. I think you answered some people's questions as far as range goes. This bike seems to check a lot of boxes on people's list.it definitely has me looking very hard at it.
Just curious how good the battery is? Like.. is it gonna last long? is it a lifetime battery or are you gonna have to buy a new one after a year of use? what can you do to keep the battery last longer?
Typically these ebike batteries are good for 800 to 1000 charge cycles. They can last a while if you maintain them. I have some batteries that are 4 years old that still work fine.
Planning on buying this one just waiting to sell my Himiway Cruiser . Don't have a lot of room in my small 1 bedroom so need to sell my other bike . Have any suggestions on where I could sell my himiway cruiser ?? Already listed it on offer up and facebook market place.
What I don't understand...is does the pas Number affect your throttle only speed? I thought that the throttle only would go top speed no matter what the pas was set on. Is that not true?
It seemingly has more power than the mid drives you’ve showed along with being far easier to operate as no changing of gears is a necessity. It’s only a matter of how lax you want your ride to go.
Its all because of the battery voltage and high current controller. Put your average mid drive of 60 volts and feed it 40 amps and you'll soon know what power really feels like.
@@Hoggdoc1946 I hear yah. I have never driven a mid drive before. The oak cement of it is ideal, because of the even weight, and being able to change tires and still have the motor not being disturbed. The only “issue” is needing to change gears which can slip ones kind, or you may not want to as it’s suppose to be as relaxed as one can make it while enjoying a ride. The new drive systems coming out with appropriate go kart chains make up for the issue of stripping chain drives, or even needing to change gears back & forth throughout a as stress free of a ride one ideally would like.
@@buffalomind6838 you can start in whatever gear you want and you use your power asset levels to add more power to whatever gear you choose and as your riding all you do is push a button to change the asset levels
Yeah, if I'm getting this bike, I'd be commuting to work at full power no pedaling (don't wanna arrive sweaty....I pedal on the way home) I need to know the range of full speed 40 mph all throttle. I'm guessing 15 miles.
Bro! You said at start of video u were going to ride until there wasn't anymore "usable power" left and that is why i continued to watch because nobody else has done that and then you didn't do it. At the very end it was still giving you 300+ watts on peddle assist 2. Plus the voltage was reading only around 53 volts which is still at the very least around 20-25% battery left witu a 60 volt battery!
You should store them at 50% and charge them to 80 or 90% whenever practical and not discharge below 25% for optimal life. You get 4x the cycle life charging to 80% vs 100% and 2.5x if you charge to 90%. You should only charge to 100% if you really need it for a long ride. On the other hand, charging to 100% should be good for 800 cycles and at 40 miles a charge that’s 32,000 miles and you’re probably going to be on a hover bike by then.
Yes! You can.modilate the power using the throttle and there are menu settings that allow you to adjust how the power comes on, even a way to limit the power that mimics the pas setting. Check out my menu settings video if you're interested.
34 miles in 2 hours is 17 mph on average. A little fast for a range test, I'd keep it closer to 12 mph average, PAS 1 only, no throttle, and see if you can't hit that 50-60 mile range!
Let's face. Whatever the makers tell you Youl only fet a third of that. My Cyrusher XF800 . I can ride in any peddle assis or full throttle. Still only get 20 mile per chatge tops. So I just usually use peddle assi3 or 5 and take it as fast as it goes. A con but great bike till the battery runs out.
you notice it's there, better than a hardtail bike but suspension is not its stand out feature, the power is the draw of this bike i feel. also, the newer wired models got an updated shock that i like better, check out my most recent video on the blue wired bike.

the lightest knobby tires i think i had were specialized fast trak but i'm not sure if they make them anymore. if you are trying to shed rotating mass then the foam inserts are definitely not going to help.
How do you guys think this compares to the Juiced Ripcurrent S ??? Cant decide between the two.. thanks in advance for all you do for us neophytes!!
Great Video, thanks. Wish you did the range test on throttle only. Have no idea how hard you are pedaling…
I made a range test under heavy acceleration and top speed riding at 225lb, take a look, if you're interested....th-cam.com/video/Y7uhSTklLt0/w-d-xo.html
THANK YOU !! great test ride. I believe I made my choice to get one. My other choice was MAGIC CYCLE. They have a NEW ONE coming out this month.
I've brought 2 of these bikes and I've only got an opportunity to ride them once because it's been raining here in California San Francisco area but I can't wait to get back out there and test this bike for all it's worth I would recommend this Wicked bike Great-Power good speed and looks very nice.
How long did they take to ship?
@@trixflippy7409 About 3 weeks.
Maybe a silly question. Is there such a thing as an E Bike where pedaling charges the battery?
Well I ordered one. Been researching the ebikes for awhile now. I am 6'5 and 255. Live in Texas where heat is a big thing. I know most of these reviewers are in California or else where. And are of average size. So I hope that this will perform the way I want it to with my big frame. Will post back when I get it and tell you how it performs. Big German out.
just spoke with steven yesterday. no date for shipping yet. just an fyi. I am waiting as well.
@@timothywarehime5956 yeah I heard the guy was cool. But putting out an email the other other day saying there are more freedom bikes available for preorder and he doesn't even have a clue where his last patch of preoders are. Doesn't boost my confidence in him at all.
i'm not to that point yet. patience @@EricLoeser

Lectric says VOL for volts. Some people think its volume!
So, actual real-world is less than 1/2 of advertised. Good to know. Thank you!
Would you buy this over the Kelper. with the fact of yes more power. But also a couple hundred bucks more. Would you do a comparison video. Have very good knowledge of ebikes.
Great review! Can you post your display's settings parameters. I'd like to compare. Thanks
This would be a Class 4 eBike… would it need be licensed and insured as a motorcycle?
May I ask, how tall are you, & what is the shortest height this bike is built for? Thank you, good video!
Great video, have you tried any of the Frey E Mountain Bikes? It would be great to see a review of the Voyager dual battery model.
Realistically pas 2 will get you about 15-20mph. Anything higher you’ll just be ghost pedaling. I like feeling that slight resistance in pas 2 on my super73 clone.
Which company was it that you where able to buy a bike frame from? I've contacted himiway and wicked and they don't sell there bike frames.
I couldn't contain myself anymore! Bought a green one!
Thank you! My only question is did you use the default configuration of the Wired Freedom as it came out the box, or did you reconfigure the class and Power settings through their menu? ... Stay safe, and pedal with God. ...Chappy
I maxed out all the settings 😁
Im digging the gloves would you mind sharing where i could purchase them. Thanks
M1Moto 508's
Hey, great video. Just a question: Being that I'm 6'5, 290lbs, how many miles on throttle only mostly flat ground do you think I could get?
You will get an average 18.5 miles on open full throttle
Amazing bike and stamina!
Love the info and your videos!! Do you have a link for the cycling gloves you're wearing in this video?
they are M1 Moto Gloves and they are called 508's
@@CitizenCycle925 ty sir.
That neighborhood is pretty cool set up lol
Great review and thank you for all the great info you always put out. I also wonder if you just did throttle at 25mph would the range be probably in the upper 20's miles. I kind of thought with such a large battery and using pedals it could go up to 45 or 50.
It won't go that fast, as the lower end torque limits the higher end speed. When you travel above 25mph, pedaling becomes ineffective.
@@vibowme3761under throttle, when unlocked and turned up, it will do 38+ on flat pavement.
I made a range test video at 225lbs and heavy acceleration and top speed with a lot of throttling and pas set to 5. Take a look, if you're interested.....th-cam.com/video/Y7uhSTklLt0/w-d-xo.html
Helpful and informative review.
"I haven't had a battery bar for over 2 miles" and still going🤣 very nice test citizen.
That's was such a great video on this bike
That goes pretty far on a full charge
Another good video thank you. I'm just curious most of your other range test that you do were throttle only, like on the bee cool Explorer. Do you feel like if you did a throttle only range test that it would chew up the battery a lot faster? Also I'm kind of surprised you didn't put it on cruise control and let it just run around 20 to 23 mph instead of pedaling in pedal assist number 2. Anyway thank you for another great video. I think you answered some people's questions as far as range goes. This bike seems to check a lot of boxes on people's list.it definitely has me looking very hard at it.
Using throttle only I'm sure range would decrease. My goal was to just ride the bike as I thought someone would typically ride it
I did a range test video on mine at 225lbs with full speed, lots of throttling, if you're interested......th-cam.com/video/Y7uhSTklLt0/w-d-xo.html
Throttle only all the way, with a heavy load on the rack. Also, should show what the meter on the battery shows when the display shows battery empty.
Thanks Bryan!
Is there a bike that would get 100 to 200 miles range.
Did you ever mention minimum seat height? Stand over height? Anyone can chime in. Thanks!👍 oh.. In the overview video.. I see ok.
Planning on buying this one just waiting to sell my Himiway Cruiser . Don't have a lot of room in my small 1 bedroom so need to sell my other bike . Have any suggestions on where I could sell my himiway cruiser ?? Already listed it on offer up and facebook market place.
Those would be my suggestions, price will determine how fast you sell it 😁
Is the freedom & step through the same, what's the seat height, my daughter is 5'2
Very impressive that it could do 30mph while battery was running out of juice
What I don't understand...is does the pas Number affect your throttle only speed? I thought that the throttle only would go top speed no matter what the pas was set on. Is that not true?
PAS level does not affect throttle speed on this bike.
Nice! Thank you!
Great video. thanks! love the channel.
Very impressive
* The placement of it is ideal with it being in the middle*
@@buffalomind6838 you can start in whatever gear you want and you use your power asset levels to add more power to whatever gear you choose and as your riding all you do is push a button to change the asset levels
@@Hoggdoc1946 then u gotta worry about the longevity with the chain that wont last anywhere near as long as the hub drive
Yeah, if I'm getting this bike, I'd be commuting to work at full power no pedaling (don't wanna arrive sweaty....I pedal on the way home) I need to know the range of full speed 40 mph all throttle. I'm guessing 15 miles.
Im still waiting on my black freedom that supposedly comes next week?
Yes, I know they got a shipment in. That should be Going Out this week.
@@CitizenCycle925 Cant wait (I can wait). Also thank you again for reviewing it
what tire pressure are you running at?? Thank you.
If you have the newest version, it comes with Chao Yang tires that have a maximum pressure of 20psi. I run around 15psi and it's perfect.
Very good range but still i'm worried about the company, brand new these are their first bikes.
Bro! You said at start of video u were going to ride until there wasn't anymore "usable power" left and that is why i continued to watch because nobody else has done that and then you didn't do it. At the very end it was still giving you 300+ watts on peddle assist 2. Plus the voltage was reading only around 53 volts which is still at the very least around 20-25% battery left witu a 60 volt battery!
so is this the best ebike under $2000??
What's the top speed?
Sadly they dont dhip to the UK i would order one today if they did
When it be smart just to use the throttle control for hills and use your pedal assist on most flat terrains as much as possible
Shouldnt the batteries be kept between 20% and 80%
You should store them at 50% and charge them to 80 or 90% whenever practical and not discharge below 25% for optimal life.
@@jfly2249 awesome information!
Can you control the speed on the throttle?
Yes! You can.modilate the power using the throttle and there are menu settings that allow you to adjust how the power comes on, even a way to limit the power that mimics the pas setting. Check out my menu settings video if you're interested.
That's wicked😀
34 miles in 2 hours is 17 mph on average. A little fast for a range test, I'd keep it closer to 12 mph average, PAS 1 only, no throttle, and see if you can't hit that 50-60 mile range!
Who rides that slow though? I rather have real world use test.
Let's face. Whatever the makers tell you
Youl only fet a third of that. My Cyrusher XF800 . I can ride in any peddle assis or full throttle. Still only get 20 mile per chatge tops. So I just usually use peddle assi3 or 5 and take it as fast as it goes. A con but great bike till the battery runs out.
Can I stand over and ride this bike with 30 inch inseam
Stand over height is about 32 in
How’s the suspension, noticeable?
you notice it's there, better than a hardtail bike but suspension is not its stand out feature, the power is the draw of this bike i feel. also, the newer wired models got an updated shock that i like better, check out my most recent video on the blue wired bike.
@@CitizenCycle925 thanks for the response
