ho avuto la fortuna di cantare questi canti da giovane quando studiavo in un seminario: hanno una forza suggestiva, meditativa, e adorante incomparabile. Grazie a san Tomaso, il "bue muto" che, come profetizzato dal suo maestro sant'Alberto, avrebbe diffuso nel mondo intero ( e direi nei secoli) la sua voce e l'invito alla preghiera adorante e contemplativa
Perché abbiamo buttato via il meraviglioso patrimonio musicale della Santa Chiesa Cattolica per far posto a discutibili schitarrate? Certo, il mondo va avanti e ci sono canti moderni decisamente belli, ma la for za sublime del canto gregoriano non ha paragoni. Oltretutto questi canti hanno una valenza terapeutica unica, capace di rasserenare l'anima e di elevare lo spirito come nessun'altro genere musicale. E questo è riconosciuto anche da non credenti.
Ha perfettamente ragione! Nella Sacrosanctum Concilium non si afferma che il canto gregoriano debba essere tolto, lo hanno fatto dopo, come la celebrazione "ad Deum".

Are CD recordings (as opposed to MP3 downloads) of chants by the Schola Gregoriana Mediolanensis available? I looked on amazon but could find only MP3 downloads. Any thoughts? I love their plainchant. Beautifully done and no choir organ in the background (which also can be beautiful but takes it out of the realm of plainchant). Thank you so much.

Are CD recordings (as opposed to MP3 downloads) of chants by the Schola Gregoriana Mediolanensis available? I looked on amazon but could find only MP3 downloads. Any thoughts? I love their plainchant. Beautifully done and no choir organ in the background (which also can be beautiful but takes it out of the realm of plainchant). Thank you so much.
